My dad was one of a few people that bought the 320EL Musso, it was a great car, lots of power and it gave the road car SUV experience before many of the big manufacturers.
The musso was under rated in western Europe etc, turned in to quite a nice and very capable vehicle, if only the interior had been a bit better. The immobiliser nonsense required in the UK at least made it feel very aftermarket and the lack of airbags was a serious omission when launched. My dad test drove one and liked it but bought a year old range rover instead
farmer near me still has a mid 90's Musso as a farm hack - rotten as a ripe pear it never goes on road any more but holds lambs and hay bales with aplomb. His "daily" is an 8 year old Duster 4x4 Access - rubber mats and minimum equipment because they are practical up here - the Chelsea tractor set don't understand country folk don't have - and if they did they wouldn't - spend £80k on a 4x4
I learned to drive in a Frontera so I’ll always love them. It was a ‘96 five door in metallic Blue. It took my family including dog from England to the south of France where we moved to. My dad then used it as a builders vehicle cause once those seats are down you could get a Mini Cooper in the back! One day the turbo broke but it decided to mend itself About 2 years later; no idea how! Eventually had to scrap it :(
When 3.2 V6 was introduced in UK? I heard there was a country where the 3.2 v6 220hp was available in 1994 already, but i m not sure where it is or if its untrue
He was right about those bull-bars on the Frontera, and in actual fact they were soon outlawed around this time on road cars for the very reasons he said why he didn't like them
My dad had a frontera sport 3 door model in 2007-2008. Suspension was so hard I literally would have flown onto the dashboard if I didn't wear my seatbelt. Then the drivers door fell off just before he sold it.
They are successor of korean automaker that made licensed CJ5. They made CJ7s too but they lost license after sold some cj7 to communist country. They modded cj7 and sold as "Korando" till 1993. And musso got made in 1993 with help of MB and 2nd gen korando also made in 1996 based on musso. and some years later, their factory was used to produce mercedes mb100 van(they got some help from MB for being a asian production base for MB100). And in daewoo years.... Daewoo made worse ssangyongs. And ssangyong sold to SAIC and SAIC ran away will all engineering blueprints after forcing ssangyong to make their small sedan. Of course billions of loss happened. Ssangyong crumbled in 2009. And thanks to covid, they lost another parent company (Mahindra) but it is settled for now. What a journey....

Extremely close yes wow !
I have pretty much same frontera. 1996 model. Just without the sunroof and in black metallic. It's surprisingly still going strong.
That's great! Solid car it is :)
I daily drive my 1997 frontera and love it
That's awesome! Nice machine.

Did he say SaSangYong MaMusso?
Just be lucky Joe Isuzu wasn't there to advertise the Frontera lol
Didn’t realise the SsangYong brand had existed that long.

that frontera looks like the isuzu rodeo we got in the colonies
Omg he almost killed a tree
Hahah yeah he got really close
That tree would probably kill the Frontera and probably save the rust one car from having to kill 😅
