The officer who said that he never wanted to intimidate people was like a breath of fresh air. I have met police officers under various circumstances from receiving a speeding ticket to taking a course with them to relatives and friendship groups and my experience has been that most of them use intimidation both on and off the job. I find it to be a very uncomfortable feeling and it has influenced my sense of trust in most of them. Anyone who needs to use intimidation engenders the same response from me, be they a criminal or a police officer.

Marlene, the police forces is an intimidation infused business so unfortunately, the police force will always be an attractive location for those who like to have power over others. Thats why women and minority groups are easy targets of intimidation and violence by the force all over the world. Many bad eggs ( of should I say damaged eggs) get in and stay in the force. I lived in both the UK and now in the US. Many join the police primarily to gain easy access to control and intimidate minorities. I know of police members who joined because they didnt have the social skills to approach girls when they were in high school. I know some who went to a majority black school or any high school where they were severely bullied and now want to strike back and society. I am willing to bet that a lot of unsolved crimes and murders were and are committed by current or former police...

Sometimes that is all that can be done. A lawsuit - civil law - is much easier to be found true than criminal law and a criminal trial. A DA will tell a victim directly if they do not think they have enough to win a criminal case which requires that guilt be established beyond a reasonable doubt. It is better than nothing; at least the act has been established to have occurred based on “a preponderance of evidence” that it occurred.

Women were protected when Trump ended DEI discrimination against white qualified women, because a company needed to hire a black woman or lesbian/or trans! If you aren’t breaking the law, you don’t need to do what they say at all?? If people knew this, these cops wouldn’t get a chance to do this either. Blame is on both sides here. Do you leave your infant with a stranger? Why not? You should be able to, because people should be good, but that isn’t the reality, hence you take measures to minimise danger to yourself and your kin. Learn your rights. If that poor girl had been taught hers, she’d have smelled a rat, and would be alive today. Life is a game of odds. Just like police checks before hiring helps, there’s no guarantees.

The police failed by putting him on the job in London when he already had an incident on his record. They failed again by not investigating when he was indecently exposing himself 4 days before he kidnapped the woman. If they had of investigated him for flashing, he would have lost his 'warrant card' what is known as a police badge in other countries. Without his warrant card, he wouldn't have been able to convince the woman he was a policeman or that he had any kind of authority. Don't blame the victim for trusting a police officer. It's the police who failed the victim over and over and over again.

I'm soo sad for what they did to the girl and that man that got set up and bit up by the bullies, they should of stop them for being bullies but probably they didn't do anything about it and past the years he killed that beautiful young lady, and who knows how many more young ladies were killed by those two guys. Bullying it's diabolical and it has to be stopped from the beginning.
My sons they used to get bullied untill they learn to fight and they used to bit up the bullies that used to bullied children that did not know how to defend themselves. Bullying should be stop immediately it's evil.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

They're warnings and indicators of more serious, violent crimes

As a kid (I was born in 1971) my parents were firm believers that police were beyond reproach + certainly wouldn't be guilty of any crimes. They were reluctant to accept wrongdoing, by police, even when I was involved in a case but I think it's understandable that people find it hard to come to terms with when they're made to realise things aren't how they always imagined them to be.
They did, though, it's not as if their little angel could possibly be lying (humour......attempt), they knew I was telling the truth + in the end it was proven beyond doubt.
From then on, I think my M + D found it progressively easier to accept the fact that police, like any other organisation, have an element, a wrong'un, scum sort of element, it's inevitable.
Weeding them out is clearly not happening, you could say the opposite has to some extent been the result, that unit Couzens was in had at least 2 complete psychos in its ranks, that we know of.
Coppers don't mix with the rest of society like we regular folks do, you can see how they end up in intense groups + falling out with those in it would be difficult + blowing the whistle on something would be a huge move, so they probably don't.
'The Rapist', the nickname with the mystery origin, is it too obvious, maybe he raped someone??? You can't tell me it's not possible, it's quite likely, ffs!!! They all know he did it, but they weren't there so who knows what went on??? Some don't think it's a big deal, anyway.
Like the guy said, they were a gang of coppers + anyone else wasn't welcome.......... I doubt there were many who showed any interest, truth be known, people don't often choose to hang out with Old Bill, in fact they avoid their company like the plague!
I've come across police (in the UK) who, to be frank, were terrible c**ts, but only account for a small minority, the rest I always found were perfectly decent, although they do have that annoying habit of arresting you.
They all do, law-enforcement types the world over can't help themselves it seems, but it's not, however, a popularity contest so they really don't care who they upset, or arrest. People, in return, don't much care for them, the previously mentioned c**ts being the principal issue, or more to the point how to identify + avoid hiring them is the gold ticket.
It is in the UK, at least, where some of the hiring has proven to be fatally misguided + it remains to be seen if trust can ever be restored???

The reason this has continued for EONS is because men are physically more powerful - and deranged. When women decide enough is enough and they recognize things will NOT change until the power is balanced. If all women carried personal protection this would balance out the imbalance of power and this atrocity would end.

The problem is, several of the officers should never have been hired! Where's the accountability for those who hired these rapist cops, but did not do a thorough background check. Do they get a psych exam and lie detector test before being hired? This could not have happened, if people did their job! There needs to be surprise drug testing, lie detector tests and psych exams, before they're hired, and every year thereafter!
