  • Cerinthe does really well from an Autumn start. Plants are much taller than those Spring sown.
    Flowering very early in the season when not much else is around, they look incredible arranged with our Autumn started Anemones.

    This was very helpful. Thank you! I had successfully sewn the seeds, but my seedlings were quite leggy. Rather than plant them directly outside and have them be weaker, today I will transplant them deeply into the small pots and strengthen them before I put them out, Very, very helpful. And, I also rethought where I was going to plant them.

    Thank you for the great advice. I've been growing from seed for 20 years and for some reason never have been able to grow Honeywort! Though... it's always been one just to "try" because it's soooo pretty AND I want it for my floral bouquets! So-- I'm focusing hard on certain seeds this year, like filler flowers & shape flowers. Honeywort is my #1 focus. With that being said... im in Zone 6b, Michigan. If I start my seeds inside starting March 1st-- that's 8 -10 weeks before the last frost, plant date. My plan is that with hardening them off the first 10 days of May. I do have a few low tunnels with poppies and snapdragons. But, I'd rather stick to what's safer for my zone? What zone are you?

      We don't have zones here but its roughly equivalent to 7. You can find our weather map on my website in the footer area if that helps x

    How often do you water the seeds? Do you keep them soaked all the time?

      I've just added a new video today - it is important not to over water so no definitely not soaked.

    Wonderful and very helpful. Thank you. Do they have a nice fragrance? and do you think they will go together with roses?

      No scent unfortunately. They flower a bit to early for most of the roses but Ranunculus will be at the same time x

    My seedlings became leggy - can I transplant them into a bigger pot further up the stem or will it rot?

    • @zoewoodwardgardening
      @zoewoodwardgardening  ปีที่แล้ว

      My best advice would be to transfer them to the greenhouse, they should very quickly bulk up x

    can they grow in the shade/partial shade?

      They need a bright spot in full sun really x

    Do you need to use a heat mat to get them to germinate this time of year?

    • @zoewoodwardgardening
      @zoewoodwardgardening  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't use heat mats at this time of year. I have some warm up videos to introduce you to the Grow-A-Long
