    Just got this today, as a first pen display this thing is awesome. For anyone else with multiple monitors trying to get the touch on just the pen display go to control panel > tablet pc settings > setup > touch input and enter past the other monitors and tap on the pen display.

    I currently own the Cintiq 24 Pro, the 2020 model, and the thing is now starting to crap out. Odd because I bought the 22 HD cintiq many years ago and that one never gave me ANY issues. I guess what I am seeing is that each new model has more issues or drawbacks but their prices keep going up. I do professional illustration and also teach at the local university where I am the illustration instructor. The reason I am telling you this is because I am going to have to get a new tablet pretty soon, but I watched your review and I see how great your art looks using this new Huion. The question I have, is for the price would the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 or Pro 27 be not only a substitute for the newest super expensive Wacom cintiqs, but would you either put it at equal or better, or less prefered for working every day with it. I just want to know because the prices of the new Pro cintiqs are basically like buying a used car now. If you get the stand and protection plan with the 27 Pro, you are looking at almost 5000.00. To me it is starting to seem like it is not worth the price. I just want to do my illustrations. Please help and please let me know your professional opinion.

    Thanks for the review. Great video. I have a little kamvas 13 (1080p)...and I dont use it, im still learning to draw, I guess I splurged on something that I did not need for now. I have to earn my skills with pencil and paper first. But, i am happy that Huion is including a slim pen and finger touch capabilities at that price point/screen size. Great office setup by the way, looks very cozy. - From Montréal with love.

    I am a beginner artist, but i already know this is for me. I am looking into this as a "starter" but still professional gateway into digital art. Thank you for the review I was worried i would need to go for the 24 inch options which are as you know considerably more expensive. Im glad this is a good middle ground that isnt too small.

    Thank you for the review. Could you elaborate on the pen a little? Since you’ve used Wacom’s Pro Pens (versions 1, 2, and 3, I understand), how does this one compare to them in regard to the initial activation force? Which one requires the least amount of pressure to register a stroke, or a click when interacting with a UI element?

    • @yanickpaquette8602
      @yanickpaquette8602  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The activation seems to be there. But it's not a game changer. maybe it's less perceptible because of the way i draw, Almost full force , all the time. My Inkers had to deal with my unerasable cayon when i used to pencil on paper 😥. But i think i can perceived it. I mean, from 8k level to 16 k level , eventually we are going to land out of the human ability to differentiate levels. One ridicules thing , I feel the Huion pen just a bit more slippery. I had to adjust my grip. The latest Wacom pen tapper slightly larger toward the end, stopping my finger to slide. No big deal. drive.google.com/file/d/1oM7viKRuSDGVeRjFY_bFqnb9TKPzmoVc/view?usp=sharing

    Hey Yanick, a review I read on Amazon mentioned that the stabiliser wasn't up to par, causing "delay":
    "All that being said, I'm returning this tablet for the exact same reason I returned every other huion tablets I tried. I just can't bring myself to like the built-in stabilizer huion has, and there's no option to adjust or turn it off. Not a big issue for people who always use stabilizer anyway, but I wish huion would add option to adjust the stabilization or just take it off completely, because its making every other non huion tablets feel so much snappier and responsive to the pen, while huion feel slightly slow with every input, its such a waste."
    What do you make of this? In videos such as yours and others' and hearing other reviews, this never came up and in fact the opposite was cited, as you yourself have mentioned. I also noted that even though it looks a bit delayed in your video, I realised that you were drawing at some 850 dpi on a huge canvas too, so that's expected
    Also, how do you compare the etched glass "blurriness" to tablets that were just flat glass or without etching? E.g. I use a Wacom 16 HD, which has the regular factory matte film to mimic some paper feel but doesn't diffract light the same way etched glass would. Plus, mine is 1080p and this is 4K. From pictures it does look slightly grainy blurry but I don't know how it would look to me when actually sitting in front of it.

    • @yanickpaquette8602
      @yanickpaquette8602  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      hey. The huion 19 is definitely more blurry than my Studio pro 16. But so are recent models from wacom too. I honestly hoped both company would stir away for etched glass, What's the point of moving to 4k but then loose a lot of that crispness to etched diffraction. Still , i don't think i could work on 1080p anymore, ive good too used to 4k. I didn't feel a delay problem compare to wacom. But in Clip studio i always add maybe 10% stabilisations to help with my inks and so I'm used to a lot of delay i guess. One thig to notate, using the felt nid add a bit of friction and physical drag to the lines, i move to the plastic one as i felt i was getting exhausted fighting frictions (I'm that feeble)

    • @emar779
      @emar779 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@yanickpaquette8602 I see! Yeah I don't like this etched glass stuff, but I haven't used it so can't be sure other than pictures I've seen of the light diffraction that results in the blurriness. If you say you can't go back to 1080p despite this, would it be safe to say that overall it's better than 1080p? For instance, the pixelation of 1080p is worse than the blurriness of 4K etched glass? Perhaps I should ask, is the blurriness more a factor for menu items and text one expects to be crisp but in actual drawings, the lines don't really get affected as it ends up being more "organic"?
      On my Wacom I know there is a matte film which gives some resistance, although I don't know how to explain it other than that I can "hear" it and that's a bit annoying to me lol. I do use the felt nib or some rubber nib, the plastic one while being smoother ends up making that annoying squeaky scratchy noise a lot. So perhaps I am feeble as you, but sometimes I read that if it were a flat glass it'd be uncontrollably slippery. The only thing I have to compare to is experience of using a marker on glass which never felt impossible so perhaps I'd be okay with less resistance too.
      I had a whacky idea - using a tool to grind/sand down the etched glass until it's flat 😂😂 I wonder if that would work haha ... if anyone reading has an old spare etched glass tablet or something try it out 😋

    Hi Yanick. Loved your review. For about 10 years I have been drawing all of my final screen printing designs and other print designs on an iPad and it drives me crazy. I use and app and connect to my iMac desktop. I really need to move into a better & larger way to work. Originally I thought I would purchase a 16 inch pen display but that would be too small. The large ones are too big for my desk. This one looks like a good size. Do you think it is a big enough without feeling too cramped for space to work? Thanks so much.

    • @yanickpaquette8602
      @yanickpaquette8602  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Good dilemma, they are about the same price. I work on the 24 pro at the studio and I’m happy with the size, but something I could use so extra inch to bring a video to match as I draw or references . I bought it before the huion 27 existed. I didn’t try the h27 but it shouldn’t be more different than the 19 performance wise. The cintiq has no leg and the associated ergo stand is fantastically expensive ( but admittedly very good) . If you can use the display extra real estate you should go huion. They are both the same size on a desk , huion having a much slimmer bezel

    Nice videos and work! If I may, I would like to ask you something. I Bought, 1 and a half year ago, a Huion kamvas pro 4k 24". It is ok for me... but what bothers me in this screen is some extra weight I have to apply in my hand and arm to it begin to show the line...i am used to draw and sketch with those ink pens on paper with very light hand.. I tested an ipad and it also gives me this "lightness" as I barely touch the screen and the lines are there. Unfortunately, when I am using my huion, it demands this little strength from my arm that take away part of the fluidity in my sketching process. I don't know.. maybe I am lucky to have a tough one.. I don't know if cintiqs have this gap in sensibility or if they are more responsive, like an IPad for example. I am searching for this opportunity to test one cintiq someday. Have you (or anyone) ever felt this difference in responsiveness in huion screens? Thks!

      minimum activation threshold on the new pentech 4, as compared to the previous pentech3 they had on the 4k 24" is much better. Wacom is still ahead in that field. But Pentech 4 should give a much better experience. Still not as premium as Wacom but its very close now.

    Is there any distance between the tablet LCD and the pen because of the glass or is it gapless like the iPad? Do you happen to know if the Wacom Cintiq Pro 16 is better or worse in that regard?

      same tiny parallaxes, almost imperceptible , both Wacom and huions the same. Maybe the iPad is a micro-hair better on that front, but we are reaching the limit of human perception and when you draw you don't register it after a single stroke.
