Great comparison video and much appreciated. I find the Wenger can opener works quite well as a dedicated box opener. I recently picked up an old Wenger Traveler and it quickly became a favorite. An 85mm with scissors, cap lifter, nail file, and even a dedicated box opener really checks all the boxes for me. There's alot to like in these old Wengers IMO. I did notice the lack of that Victorinox snap though.

Great Video Mark ! I like the Recruit light knife to carry as a EDC you hardly feel it in your pocket !

It was neat to see the difference in blade shapes between Vic and Wenger. Thanks for this comparison, buddy. Have a great Saturday!

Been looking for an apprentice for years... Man I wish these would pop up for sale more often.
Holy smokes... I posted that as I opened eBay, just found a brand new one for 25 bucks. Woot!!

I think the Victorinox Recruit for me i believe the Victorinox can opener is one of the best multitool implements ever invented ? You can open a can, turn a small flat head, turn a philips , peel fruit , and pull string ,shoe laces just like with the parcel hook ! Ive done all the above .

I think Victorinox is a much better quality knife. Been carrying one for many years. Recruit and Tinker are my favorites.

Perhaps in the future you can show the tweezers and toothpick of the Wenger. And thank you for the comparison, good and detailed.

Have you noticed with the older models of recruit that they never used a centre rivet so the scales would bow in the centre ?
The new ones now have it finally so the scales fit and stay put !
Nice comparison video by the way .

I have noticed that with the older ones.

Very interesting to see the difference in the two multi tools. Could the pull and close strength be related to the age of the tools themselves?
