I WILL learn to Ollie on a fingerboard! Week two and still trying on all my breaks at work. One busted two good ones. But dang. It's hard. I won't give up Jack.
IMPORTANT! For those who have tried everything and its still not working, I figured out a small detail I haven't heard in any tutorial and it totally fixed things for me. I've been trying to kickflip for 2 months and every time what would happen is the board goes vertical, spins too much, and does a half varial. Always wrong. But I realized it was because I was trying to do the "finger slide" movement from the exact moment I popped the board, without waiting. But what REALLY works is if you first pop the board neutrally, just like an ollie, then when you're at the top of the arc, slide your hand down and off the board diagonally to the left, like you've kind of apathetically given up on the ollie. It helps to angle your hand forward and down at this angle /, while the board is at this angle \, so your index finger is the only thing in contact with the board. When you do it like this, waiting until the top of the pop before initiating the kickflip slide, it evens the board out and you have a perfect kickflip! I'm so stoked haha so I hope this helps someone else who is having the same problem.
This actually works on a real skateboard to. Most people slide their foot the moment they pop the board and that ruins the trick. It's cool that it can be applied to fingerboarding too
for the guy who has a small finger coz skinny, flick the hand to diagonal left works very well, not really consistant but i can feel the nudge of the nose
i havent nothing against the youtubers but the comments have been the most help out of everything with helping me to lean how to kickflip. Im know theres no point to me saying this but for thoses who are struggling look through the comments and you will find help just trust me.
A tip for those using a regular Techdeck. The wheels have no grip so make sure the surface is not too slick or it will be harder to pop the board. Based on my own experience.
Whenever I go to do that diagonal flick, i just go into a pop shuv, i do the ollie, and then i am straight into a pop shuv, i've been trying for hours now. any tips other tips?
good video bro but what if you dont have some TAPE on a PRO FB, thats my case lol, and can you make a video trying fingerboarding without grip tape pls??
At first i didnt understand ANYTHING, but then i understood everything. And for those whose board isnt spinning or just yeetind around, ollie higher. Anyways amazing tutorial!
For whatever reason every time I try it turns into a 180 double kickflip and often goes vertical in the middle. Any tips? Also, way more tutorials please you explain so concisely and efficiently. Subbed
@@1anfinity08 actually what I found was that when the board flipped quickly and spun vertically it happened when my finger slid off the board too soon, off the side. I had to ensure that it slid up until the curve of the nose before sliding off the side. Another problem I had is that no matter what I would do the board would turn 90°. I discovered this was because I was sliding my Fincher straight up the board, and what I needed to do inßstead was to arc my hand quickly inwards toward my left shoulder, and the board would remain in line
@@franzpattison Good points glad you have it figured out. As I've said in my reply on your other comment, those tips you said works on actual skateboarding too. It's cool that it can be applied to fingerboarding as well.
I can’t figure out the sliding the finger part.i feel like by time i slide my finger the board has already landed,i almost feel like my grip is too gripy but it’s only foam grip, can anyone help me better,I’ve probably watched every how to kickflip a fingerboard vid on TH-cam.
Oh cmon... I've been practicing for 2months and after watching this only just realised I should be sliding the finger off the edge closest to me, not away from me. A few goes later and I've just sloppily landed one.

Jack's tutorial always helps me more over other people's tutorials, it's just so easy to understand and replicate what he's doing in the video.
