I visited Pasto Colombia a few months ago. The family I visited have a cage built on the front of their house, like all their neighbors, so they can sit outside and not be robbed. When these people are glad to make it home every day you want them to be concerned about deforestation?

This video leaves so much out. Colombia is trying to take care solely of the million of Venezuelans (and people from other countries) that are feeding their lands. Colombia cannot afford to take care of all those people alone.
We're so nice to people who work in a weapons plant. We're respectfully polite to payed soldiers. And so we don't actively resist.
For those who have never traveled outside of the USA, the guest is speaking of regions that are not developed and are being invaded by illegal leaders.
Outside of this, there are educated, professionals, who contribute to a positive, legal community and economy. Along with many farmers, and other blue collar honest workers.
I understand how Colombia is always reported as drugs, and FARC, guerillas. But this is not all of what the country is.

@@Remychat9 I was watching a report where a guy was basically saying the same thing until his daughter was taken into custody on false charges, never to be heard from again. Still, I'm happy for the people of El Salvador.
@@desamster errors and injustices are a shame but unavoidable in certain cases.
The thing is there are going to be thousands of daughters and sons that will not disappear or end up murdered by the criminal maras anymore.
The end justifies the means in emergencies like this.

@@Remychat9 Getting interrogated on false charges is one thing but then disappearing, never to be heard from again? Under rule of law you're entitled to your rights and a fair trial. I guess cases are frequent enough for human rights organizations to ring the alarm bell. Good on them, that's their job. Again, it's great that Salvadoreños feel safe to walk the streets again but state power needs to be kept in check and rule of law safeguarded.
I'm going on vacation soon, I can't decide though, Columbia or Sudan. Or maybe Afghanistan! It's a hard choice.

It's interesting that the NATO forces and the United States in particular are not helping Colombia or Panama. Apparently they have nothing that the United States needs. You put the Navy on each side of that isthmus put the army on the north side in the Columbian army on the south side and just meet in the middle and that conflict would end fairly quickly

Buen análisis. Si refleja la realidad. Cabe mencionar que el origen etnico no determina la situación para todos. Ya que hay participacion de distintas etnias en ambos lados del conflicto. Hay que entender que un territorio indigena se considera soberano y eso dificulta un estado alli, pero facilita ser una via de transito para el trafico. Y si, grupos indigenas de distintas etnias viven el conflicto pues se realiza en su tierra

The answer to your question is quite simple, the Colombian goverment/politicians will always have more interest in stealing the money meant to make improvements, in other words, if there is a position and advantage to be taken, that is the focus. The Colombian citizen has never been, and will possibly never be, in their best interest.
