🇷🇺 What do you know about the republic of Mari El deep in Russia on Europe's eastern border? Probably not too much right. What about their language? Well you're not alone and so I went out to rectify that and on the journey there found some weird things...like Barbara Streisand.

The reason why I watch this channel is because if the trip is boring, you leave it at that. You don't try to create drama or sensationalize a situation or pull up a fancy drone and make it seem like you had the time of your life. You leave it as is, and to me if makes it feel like I have really visited these paces. It's raw, it's real, it's simple. Kudos to you.

I'm from Morki, but I live in London. I came to visit my mom 3 days after mr Bald left. It's actually sad that no one told him that it's quite unique place, it's the last place in Europe where peganizm still exists, there is pegans village with holly forest, also there is a small river, which is one of the cleanest in the world, also this place used to be famous for witches. Carried in tradition through the millennia in Russian culture and churches, etc. The somewhat more loose, and artistically splashy soviet re-invention of the ancient craft is rather novel and lovely I think. Love some good mosaics.

I have never been to Russia so I can’t debate with you on whether it is dangerous there or not, but it’s all relative and compared to Switzerland statistically crime is higher in Russia. Going to these areas in the middle of nowhere on your own with a camera which cost the equivalent of one year’s salary (to local people) is a huge risk.
