Btw Russians put the towels under the comforter because they don’t like dust of things like that, that’s why everyone tends to cover their bed even if they don’t fully make it, cover any drying dishes with a hand towel, etc
It’s not Russia without a drunk guy stumbling up to you with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth asking for a light. If that didn’t happen, I’d be taking the next bus out cause something ain’t right.
Once in the 90's I came on Sunday evening in Russian provincial town Boguchary. For half an hour I couldn't find out where the hotel is because everyone I had met on my way was absolutely pissed-off.
About what you said about elder people (pensioners as you called em) and their dachas: they are not growing fruits and vegetables to survive. In nowadays Russia it's way cheaper to buy that in a local store than grow it. Why do elder people do that then? Because yes, they kinda had to do it in soviet times (but even then it way easy to buy vegetables (not fruits though)), and they got so used to it that they treat it like fun, like a way to escape town and just chill and relax on their own little plot of land, with fresh air and that kind of stuff. Same thing goes for collecting berries and mushrooms, it is not surviving, it's a kind of outdoors activity, like hiking in a way. You might have noticed that younger generation doesn't go to dachas or collect stuff in the forests, that is because older generation is just made this way, they are used to it.
many young people love to go to the country.. in US we call it a cabin.. we go to the second home in the summer.. who ever get there first does tha garden ( greetings from Michigan where there aren't bus stations, get a car man)
I wa born in 1987 and my childhood spent in 90e in a village. In that time garden with vegetates was really nessesary. Also people has cows, pigs and other animals to get a milk and meat. It was way to survive because people has no money a long time. But now i'm some times attending my parents in this village and i can see that everything has been changed. Many people have got no garten, no cows, no pigs because they are working for local farmer or have a job in nearest town and it is easier to bye vegetates, milk or meat on local market. Some people keep a little garden just as a hobby in free time. Sombody just use to do it.
I’m living in Russia. And the purposes of dachas is to survive. Because it’s really hard to live here, especially in provinces. It’s cheaper to grow their own vegetables and fruits. I say it to you as Russian, who lives in province.
It baffles the mind to see so many people in Russia living on or below the bread line. Watching these videos has certainly opened my mind. It looks like nothing much has changed over the decades. That Mr. Bald and Bankrupt (Benjamin). Wishes from South Africa.

@Christina Reynolds Neither did he say "please" if you translate word for word directly. But language is more complex then that and you need to look at more then just the words but also the body language and the tone and the message. Their is different ways to explain the same sentence. The point of this comment was to explain to the audience what he said, whether that was word for word precise is not important because like I mentioned before there is different ways to explain the same sentence.
@Christina Reynolds That's what I trying to say. Sure I won't argue over what sentence sounds the best/better but I guess we both agree in the end even if there was some miscommunication.

Once in the 90's I came on Sunday evening in Russian provincial town Boguchary. For half an hour I couldn't find out where the hotel is because everyone I had met on my way was absolutely pissed-off.
"....a drunk guy stumbling up to you with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth" * and his mother in tow ...
Come on ,I thought you were describin Glasgow !
Honestly this description could describe a lot of places
Them babushkas have seen alot. They seem so stoic and dignified and ready to share. Bald you've shown me alot cheers my fellow Man of Sussex.
"Soviet bus stations" with the green paint looks like many places I went to in Kenya. Same layout, building style. It's weird.
they often used similar building techniques. theres even a similar powerplant to chernobyl in kursk
Thank you! That’s exactly how it is across the eastern parts of Europe.
many young people love to go to the country..
in US we call it a cabin.. we go to the second home in the summer.. who ever get there first does tha garden ( greetings from Michigan where there aren't bus stations, get a car man)
It's called gardening and it's done all over the world
I wa born in 1987 and my childhood spent in 90e in a village.
13:37 You know which one i am gonna do dont you?
"Jumps back to bus and leaves"
It baffles the mind to see so many people in Russia living on or below the bread line. Watching these videos has certainly opened my mind. It looks like nothing much has changed over the decades.
That Mr. Bald and Bankrupt (Benjamin). Wishes from South Africa.
Just watching these episodes from this playlist again after 4 years, still fun too watch.
I love this channel. Every episode you feel like you had a little mini adventure.

To think I pay subscription for a lot of crap on Netflix I can’t decide what to watch then you can get this for free. It’s unbelievable really 😀👍🏼
That's why you have options, BLYAT

Better off paying for TH-cam premium. Then you can watch cobra kai, download videos on your phone and no ads!

Haha just the same xd
One needs not a Netflix subscription. Cancel it
Mr Bald game:
1) Buy Vodka
2) Take a shot everytime he mentions Soviet
3) Wake up in A&E
Not enough vodka exists in the world to finish that game. Also... R.I.P.

Naryan will soon have his revenge.
Well the CVV is just 1000 possible combinations so people can try until the company flags the card. Then bald has to have it unflagged again and then people can start again, leaving him with a virtually unusable card.
So yeah, just make sure to show nothing at best.
Andy Mc L well, can’t argue with that. And thanks to credit he will be not just bankrupt but in debt. So then it would be bald and in debt...

That's exactly what 2005 and 2006 were like here in Russia. Most men were doing nothing but drinking beer from a huge plastic bottle and listening to something like "Chyorniy bumer"
Чтож... Скорее всего нас свел Ютуб. Опять порекомендовав нам какое-то странное видео :D
Around 8:50 the guy said jokingly "What about filming me instead???"
He said "Film me as well"
But it's vaild for both I suppose.
@@radicalazuw9964 ok guys. I'm from Russia and I can tell you what exactly he sad . He sad "А меня снимите?!". In English it will sound as "Would you like to film me?" or "Maybe you will film me?".
