I've only been hurt by the debuff. I have groups of two or three harass me and keep me in the debuff range while they take turns leaving it, then kill me. I've also gotten it because carcasses or mainly bushes are in the range and I eat, then I get the debuff and get jumped by someone waiting just outside. I've never had it help me avoid HC campers.
@fuzzman02 I think that if you're in range for a certain amount of time you can't attack or be attacked. And when you step put of range, you have a timer (I say the minuet works) that you have to stay out of the zone to attack. Basically extending the immunity what not, but giving it a delay so people can't immediately run in for immunity. I also think that if someone kills you/you kill them, there should be a 30 min period neither of you can hurt the other. Mainly because I've had some many times I win a fight on a heavy Dino and they run back, or a friend was them back, and they get me before I can barely start healing. (Mainly apex v apex and similar)
The Blue Home Cave buff should also make it so sprinting does not use stamina, while the buff is active, so you can get away from campers a bit easier.
The Homecave debuff as it stands right now is very annoying. I've gotten it while just doing quests before and had to walk quite a ways with reduced speed just to get it off of me. I luckily haven't died because of it yet, but I've watched homecave campers who abuse this feature to kill others. The debuff range needs to be much smaller and effect campers more than people who are just going about their buisness.
Yup, it's an extra penalty to dinos that are already slow and there's no caves with access directly from water. The lead game dev is basically a malicious idiot.
To that I will say you should just stick to the water caves. It sucks to have to go out of your way if you are say across the map but sarco loses stam way too quickly on land so you debateably are better off just going to the water caves.
The home cave debuff does more harm than good. There’s already an invincibility period when you leave homecave. Why does there have to be a debuff too?
I agree here, far too many times I've seen groups camping homecaves - if I can break through their blockade I should be able to reach homecave... not to mention the debuff doesn't seem to work properly, can't count how many times I get the debuff right when I get close, even when doing the starter quest to reach hc. I think this systems needs some major work. People camping hc shouldn't be able to tag you to keep you from entering. I'm more of a hardcore player, I like consequences and punishment, but if you're gonna have a safe zone like hc, then do it right. This current system would be like not being able to dock in EVE just because someone shot at you... the only people that should be blocked from entering are the aggressors, or just get rid of hc...
@@phaedrus12134 but people also shouldn't be able to escape any combat in hc like before. This system works pretty well against little buggers that just run straight to hc when you trying to fight them (and I mean fair fight, not camping). So imo earlier version with no combat debuff is worse that this, but I have no idea how they could make it better, although I agree it need to be somehow improved.
Fkin reduce the homecave debuff range, i got killed as a spino which is rly slow on land and got hit by the debuff which made it easy for them to kill me

This design is very nice, but I hope there are some optimizations. For example, the player will be warned before getting the debuff instead of being punished directly. Secondly, for some homecaves on the top of the mountain, for Apex dinosaurs with thick skins, they will take longer to walk up, and it is easy to get punishment. Make the gaming experience worse. Finally, my suggestion is to replace debuff with protection buff. Players who enter this area for a period of time will not be able to attack or be attacked, and will greatly reduce the efficiency of gaining experience and speed up the loss of food and water. And After leaving this area, this protective buff will disappear, or it will disappear after staying in this area for more than 1 minute. Because the original debuff design concept is to protect players from being attacked in this area and punish some players for wandering in this area leave.
The Debuff sucks when you are trying to stealth away and have to frequently stop to not give yourself away. Just last night it took me over 10 minutes to get away from the home cave in Hunters Thicket north into Snake Gully. Two Megs and a Hatz patrolling the whole time. My poor baby Stego.
It’s a very bad mechanic that needs to be changed. Especially when you spawn juvies on top of it where there’s quest items that are in the range of the debuff.
More often than not the debuff gets me killed when I am attempting to find the entrance or am on a large slow dino and the radius it effects is far too large
Until you have a pack of 5 following you until your debuff runs out. That very same system will become your tomb this happened to me for about 3 or 4 days straight *official servers* in a not very populated part of the map
Quetzalcoatlus isn’t coming to Path of Titans but it’s larger cousin Hatzegopteryx is the one that coming. Also there is no release date yet so you just have to wait. Currently there is a Quetzalcoatlus mod coming too, maybe it’s available now but I play on Mobile it won’t show up for me.
im actually really grateful for this debuff. before the home cave debuff you’d legit have like 4 eo standing outside the cave ready to instantly kill any poor juvie that tries to leave
man as a new player I was so scared when this would pop, i thought it was an enemy and I needed to hide but too slow to do so. Especially if i kept around instead of going further away.
While I understand the point of the debuff, I've gotten quite nervous due to the debuff coming on suddenly and fearing someone may come by and take me down. This has yet to happen to me, but just the thought of it happening makes Home Caves seem more of a hassle at times. I know the debuff is to deter HC campers, but wouldn't it have been much easier to simply have a condition to where, if there are people outside the Home Cave and don't seem to go away, have the option to come out from another Home Cave entrance? To make this be balanced and not like a Waystone, simply have a timer as you do with the debuff, only instead of debuffing, the person in the HC gets the option to warp to a HC entrance that is clear of players. I feel this solution would be somewhat better than what we have now, as I feel the debuff really punishes dinosaurs that are already slow and may just be trying to reach the HC to log out safely.
Did you know that you still receive knockback effects even with the HC protection? This makes it possible for players with knockback abilities to keep you from safely leaving the HC area so they can kill you once the protection wears off AND possibly keep you from getting back into the HC 😉
They have to do something about it. Also the slow debuff you receive if you log in. Because if you login in the open you are done with this debuff if a rex nearby
There needs to be an invincibility buff and remove the debuff. There's zero point to it if the dinos coming out of HC can't take damage in the first place. All the debuff does it get players killed that aren't even HC camping, just happen to be close enough to get it

Enough pyc at and near a cliff can a will head but you off a cliff if close enough to one like young Grove. I got butted off by 4 once with home cave protect. Not a bug and won't be fixed 😊🐛
An Idea for devs: Add passive growth when sleeping, that means the stamina system has to be modified, replace stamina regen by crouching/sitting instead of sleeping this means sleeping is beneficial and crucial at different times of the day/night depending on the creature you are playing as with factors being if it's a nocturnal, predator/prey and carnivore/herbivore and if it hibernates for example. - make passive growth only work when your character's tiredness bar is full so that when the bar is low, sleeping is only a QoL/rp feature. This is optional but you could even make it so you have a well rested buff status that overrides with the passive growth when sleeping in specific areas such as in home caves, burrows, under tree etc
it can be so much fun! note: It CAN be. Choose servers wisely. if you wanna have more fun you may wanna do community servers and not play on officials (takes WAYYY longer to grow dinosaurs and get in-game currency. also no rules so you can just get killed at any time by any thing)
Funny how I seem to be trapped in a home cave area bc of campers and I seem to only get the debuff yet they still move freely and alternate turns going in and out of the radius. This game favors massive mix packing way to much all the way down from the growth and combat and debuffs
The debuff shouldn't decrease move speed. I got it by eating and drinking to top up before exploring and it took SO LONG to get out of range i almost just logged out on the spot. The debuff increased the amount of time i was around the home cave. Not conducive to intended purpose

Bruh, keeping up? The game isn't even close to being out. I've played over two years and the game still doesn't have AI dinosaurs, or other game modes for multiplayer.
This debuff and buff has been abused so many times that at this point. They should make it to where the game doesn’t give players these effects. Based on if a certain player has spam exited and entered a home cave
They should make this debuff only apply to adult campers and maybe not juvis and give adolescents a longer time arlund hc before they get debuffed. Juvies and early adols don’t really have ane defense agains adults kosing and it sucks 😂
How about DONT HAVE QUESTS OR QUEST ITEMS IN THE AREA so i dont have to creep out of the 5000 foot radius at 3 mph because i wanted a damn pinecone. Also quest update when.
Debuff never actually helps people, usually groups will have a player trap you so you both get the debuff and then their friends run in and get an easy kill
I figured out a bug to kill people with Homecave Invincibility. I reported the bug and they claimed it wasn’t a bug so now I constantly kill people with my Rex that come out of the cave😂.

Had a friend get harassed by a bunch of people by keeping him near the cave wasn't very cool I feel the range that this debuff starts to take effect needs to be nerfed
And nothing is mentioned here about the radius encompassing nearly entire POIs sometimes, or the fact that while under home cave protection, your stats are locked and cannot regenerate health or stamina at all. You went into the home cave with low stamina while escaping predators? Well too bad! They can kill you when you come out because you're stuck with the stamina that you went in with.
That’s wrong. If you are even walking within a certain distance of a home cave you will get that debuff as well. It has nothing to do with you not moving while within that distance. I’ve actually gotten that debuff while heading towards the cave while walking because I was trying to preserve my Stam due to other players trying to hunt me.
The debuf should be removed tbh, most creatures I play are to slow for me to make way to the entrance once I've finally found it b4 getting the debuff, then when I come out after logging on I have to crawl away from hc if I don't get killed before getting away
i did know this and its the biggest piece of BULL. the range is way too big, and people rarely ever use homecaves from my experience of playing 2 or more years. just keep the buff, the debuff is stupid because if your trying to escape and happen to run past a homecave then you will be doomed to death by the games mechanics, not the enemy player wich is ridiculous. and also some quests are super close to homecaves, in sertain areas u are forces to get close to the homecave and then suddenly while peacefully questing you get a debuff and then you get jumped by nearby carnivores or angry herbs
I got killed by it alot i was at glc pond by the hc and i was a allo fighting a sub eo' 2 raptors and a sty i killed the eo and sty i was low so i hid in the water so the raptors could not get me i killed them both then swapped servers got out of the pond got stam then a anky came died bc of it
the idea is good but the implementation is not. far too often you get the debuff when you're questing nearby. or every time I drink water with my spino in white cliff and want to go back into the sea.. I had that too with a juvi after logging in and leaving an hc. you're really lost when a dino comes by... you can't even run away.
Instead when we first spawn in can we not have that slow log in buff but instead have a log in protection? We can't attack players and the players can't attack us until our buff is gone
These buffs need to be changed! It super annoying and it isn't fair... For example 1minute isn't enough for a buff and it can back fire on those who are leaving and they have a slow dinosaur and get a punish debuff for just trying to leave still, I would do 2 minutes at least... Second the raduis for the home cave is too big, needs to be smaller, debuff effect causes unnecessary problems for a player... for just entering a bit close to the home cave, while some have this problem for just trying to leave... Some dinosaurs are slower then others after all, and a fix would help a lot especially if those who have to quest near by and they get effect by this... and get a chance to get attacked by other players... this is a good way for players get harassed this way with the radius for the home cave being big, please fix these!

The debuff needs to go its worthless. No one camps since there is spawn protection and slower dinos get the debuff while trying to just simply get to the cave. Ways to solve problem is A. just remove it B. Show area of affect on minimap C. Show timer till effects happen D. Decrease area of effect E. Have Increase damage taken but don't nerf speed too

Someone came out of hc as I was going in as soon as I hit enter they hit me so I loaded into the hc then right back out and got killed by them.

It seems to me it takes effect much sooner than "a few minutes." Sometimes as soon as I log in and leave, I get that dumb debuff.
I got stuck in the caves on the island in the big lake on Glndwa and almost died of thirst 😭

Had a friend get harassed by a bunch of people by keeping him near the cave wasn't very cool I feel the range that this debuff starts to take effect needs to be nerfed
And nothing is mentioned here about the radius encompassing nearly entire POIs sometimes, or the fact that while under home cave protection, your stats are locked and cannot regenerate health or stamina at all.
You went into the home cave with low stamina while escaping predators? Well too bad! They can kill you when you come out because you're stuck with the stamina that you went in with.

That’s wrong. If you are even walking within a certain distance of a home cave you will get that debuff as well. It has nothing to do with you not moving while within that distance. I’ve actually gotten that debuff while heading towards the cave while walking because I was trying to preserve my Stam due to other players trying to hunt me.
Yeah but plz fix the range in hunters thicket it’s gotten me killed so many times just because I’m in HT
The debuf should be removed tbh, most creatures I play are to slow for me to make way to the entrance once I've finally found it b4 getting the debuff, then when I come out after logging on I have to crawl away from hc if I don't get killed before getting away

i did know this and its the biggest piece of BULL. the range is way too big, and people rarely ever use homecaves from my experience of playing 2 or more years. just keep the buff, the debuff is stupid because if your trying to escape and happen to run past a homecave then you will be doomed to death by the games mechanics, not the enemy player wich is ridiculous. and also some quests are super close to homecaves, in sertain areas u are forces to get close to the homecave and then suddenly while peacefully questing you get a debuff and then you get jumped by nearby carnivores or angry herbs

I was a eo i got a debuff then 2 pachys came and killed me
I got killed by it alot i was at glc pond by the hc and i was a allo fighting a sub eo' 2 raptors and a sty i killed the eo and sty i was low so i hid in the water so the raptors could not get me i killed them both then swapped servers got out of the pond got stam then a anky came died bc of it
I hate this debuf so much i got it very often cause i didnt kne a home cave was nearby 😑
the idea is good but the implementation is not. far too often you get the debuff when you're questing nearby. or every time I drink water with my spino in white cliff and want to go back into the sea.. I had that too with a juvi after logging in and leaving an hc. you're really lost when a dino comes by... you can't even run away.

Instead when we first spawn in can we not have that slow log in buff but instead have a log in protection? We can't attack players and the players can't attack us until our buff is gone
These buffs need to be changed! It super annoying and it isn't fair... For example 1minute isn't enough for a buff and it can back fire on those who are leaving and they have a slow dinosaur and get a punish debuff for just trying to leave still, I would do 2 minutes at least...
Second the raduis for the home cave is too big, needs to be smaller, debuff effect causes unnecessary problems for a player... for just entering a bit close to the home cave, while some have this problem for just trying to leave... Some dinosaurs are slower then others after all, and a fix would help a lot especially if those who have to quest near by and they get effect by this... and get a chance to get attacked by other players... this is a good way for players get harassed this way with the radius for the home cave being big, please fix these!

The debuff needs to go its worthless. No one camps since there is spawn protection and slower dinos get the debuff while trying to just simply get to the cave. Ways to solve problem is
A. just remove it
B. Show area of affect on minimap
C. Show timer till effects happen
D. Decrease area of effect
E. Have Increase damage taken but don't nerf speed too
Next debuff for toxic ws Camper..
Just make it so no one can pvp within a certain range of a home cave please.
And add Npc dinosaurs when you get the chance.
