- Try saying that title fast five times! The Summer Solstice is truly a magical event to witness in the wilderness, and this one in Alberta was truly unique. I also discuss my cell signal setup and a bonus feature of my fiberglass camper.

I bet all those camera set up miles help to burn some calories. The work you put in to get those shots doesn’t go unnoticed. Great videos Slim👍🏻
It's funny you say that but I was thinking why does he bother with all those camera set ups. I'd rather just sit with him and watch the scenery. Set up the tripod by your chair when you crack a beer and we can watch the sunsets and the streams with you.
I start thinking the same thing a few years ago. he must go through a lot of boots to get all his good shots
Getting that slippery slope footage raised an important question. If he fell and boke his ankle / leg, how would he get rescued? He mentioned cell phone coverage is poor / non-existent. I would think a PLB and a Satellite Messenger
is mandatory if you are boondocking.
Anthony, without risk the adventure is pointless. I've spent years preparing, but it will always be there. Those that must rely on gadgets instead of learning basic survival will be at the greatest risk in my opinion. SP
@@anthonycbrown1952 Life isn't having someone hold your hand, make sure you have a net etc. Live. I've hiked, camped, and lived well beyond immediate help. No cell phones. Even lived in middle of nowhere with no outside communication at all, for years. Just live.

I have become hooked on your videos and always look forward to the next one. When you got your Outback I was not impressed with the interior (especially that breakfast nook commode) . But then I forgot just how good of a craftsman, and just how creative and innovative you are. You transformed the interior of your trailer into a little palace on wheels with.....that shower...wow!..the adjustable fan..the spice rack etc.. And your photography ...those amazing sunsets, rainbows.. oh my! Thank you!

Just a suggestion and I got this from my dad who has RV'd for years and I've even used it tent camping. You may not want to concern yourself with the bulk and weight but bring along a piece of astroturf carpet. About 6 by 8 feet and some 8 inch nails with washers to put down in front of your trailer door.
Lay out the astro turf and nail down the edges and it sure helps with keeping the dirt and debris out of the trailer. I've even used it in front of two man tent when I've gone solo fishing for a night or two. Takes up the space of about a sleeping bag. Anyway, just an idea. And thank you for the videos. We sure enjoy them. Better than television.
Yeah...just Don't forget the nails!!!! Wouldn't want to run over one of have someone else get a flat.. Awesome idea!( Not the flat lol!)

It actually makes me escape from reality for a while and you are LIVING THE DREAM of Dreams and you are SO FUNNY and cute. I don't know if you even realize how funny you are... most people eat to survive, this is Slim " I eat so I'm not hungry 😂😂😂 I had tears in my eyes thanks for the laugh...
And I was thinking even before you said it most people ask you how you stay so slim... I think it's because you go up and down everywhere setting up the camera before you actually film which is amazing to me, that's a lot of exercise. You made it up that muddy slope but then you had to come back down to get your camera and go back up AGAIN 😳Kudos to you EXCELLENT video work!👍

Doreen, I would say all the same things! The videos are truly relaxing, and I love the inventive solutions to problems or tweeks to make things just a bit better. Slim, if I tried filtering my water by hanging the bucket above me, I can guarantee you that 1) one side of the bail would break, 2) the lid would be loose, and 3) I'd suffer a deluge of freezing cold water on my head 🤣🤣(or worse, the whole thing would fall and give me a concussion!). 😵🥴 Great ideas, though. Just take my luck (or lack thereof) out of the equation and it all works beautifully.

When filling your bucket with water from a stream, point the bucket opening downstream, you will get less debris in the bucket.

3 months for me. I have spent the last year planning, and while I want a more off road experience it is the pace of Slim's that appeals. Find a quiet spot and explore for a week.

True. A really good beer is a must when you want to solve the worlds problems with a mate. I found that Grolsch Premium Lager is one of those. It need two sips to get really good, as it has a light hops aftertaste, but it is vell balanced.
If I am not mistaken you can get that brand at Trader Joes. Lager! yes!

You don't have to have a 7-course meal every time you set down to dinner. Sometimes, especially when camping, simpler is better as long as there are healthy selections included. Love your videos. I have a 2010 Outback 6 by 13 V-nose cargo trailer converted into a simple camper. I love it!
We did the same with the water bucket. But we also put some window screening over the top to filter larger debris from getting in before purifying. Good video.

Favorite part: the "Defiant Grouse" - and family! And if you listen carefully you can hear their strange noises. I like to recall the days before there were toy haulers and ATVs, and there might have been more horse trailers instead. If they had just designed more comfortable saddles maybe we'd still have the horse trailers ?

Eating in the outdoors does improve on the metabolism. It seems that any food also tastes a lot better with the fresh country air, the views and overall experience. Definitely an adventure.

Experienced videographers like yourself know that the green glow is of course an internal reflection on one of your camera's lens elements, but much lesser known is that those are precisely the kinds of lens phenomena that crafty aliens always use to hide their nightly presence in the deep forests of sylvan provinces.

Its now 4:30 a.m., Im sitting in my recliner sipping on coffee and watching my favorite channel. Looking forward to getting out there and enjoying some of the beautiful scenery first hand. Owe 3-1/2 years on my home and will have my travel trailer ready to go. Im a 6yr lung cancer survivor, guess you can say Im not 100% but I refuse to sit back and let life pass me by. So looking forward to doing a bit of traveling and filling up my eyeballs with the scenery, lol.

Hi Slim! This is the first time I'm commenting on one of your videos! I'm a 64 year old retired South African now living in the USA and I am doing my bucket list tour of the states with just a minivan set up with a bed ,stove cooler box and all the necessary stuff! I really enjoy your videos and watch every one of them. Because I am disabled it is difficult for me to go in the backcountry as I cannot do a lot of hiking! You inspired me though to do whatever I can while I still can!

Just sat down for a restful evening to watch the latest adventures of SP with my frequent snack of Ritz Crackers and Jif. Started laughing around 9:25, then almost choked on a cracker around 9:45. Loved the starscapes and the always beautiful Canadian scenery. I think the bear and beer mention needs to sneak into every video.
