Hey Cobber, got my RWC last Wednesday, after tracking similar works with yourself, only problem Vic-roads so far behind, so cant register until April 23rd, so if you are confident, book Vic-roads before RWC, couldn't believe the water fall from your diff 🤣 pinion seals on my agenda now 👍

Great video, about to tackle some jobs on my old girl as well (content shortly)... front drive shaft, 3 oil leaks (front seal, oil covers, and something around the intake manifold...) and a water leak (and complete cooling system rebuild)... and I’m further from a mechanic than you Jay! Keep em coming mate, just wait until you start using her, there’s ALWAYS little jobs!

I would suggest take the drive shaft to a place that can check the balancing for you... The shaft has a specific way it needs to come out and be put back. I guess it was taken off and not put back correctly by a previous owner.

I marked it to make sure it went back in right. But definetly a good idea 🤙🏻

id assume you already know but
use penetrine or the super pentrol, soak them 2 days in advance every morning and evening
crack the filler before you crack the drain just incase you cant get the filler nut off atleast there will be some kind of lube in it
when you go and rebuild the diff you might as well get an auto lokka
dont forget use a rubber, leather, cork, brass or nylon hammer rather than any hard metal, even a timber dowel would be better than metal to metal contact f

Hi mate. Yes I paid someone to install a new one. The old one was destroyed so it needed replacement

Great vid, I'm in the middle of the same job. Hey, did you find out if that play in the shaft that you had (I think you said you would look at that another time). Mine has a similar play! not sure if thats normal or not.

Thanks so much Dean! I think I’m just die for a diff rebuild at this point. But I’ll do it if and when I do a locker.

I like watching you work on the 60 but.......
Man where are your safety glasses and ear muffs.
Call me the safety police if you like.
My ears are fucked because when I was young I didn’t know any better.
But anyone can tell you are going to get sparks in your eyes with so many surfaces for them to bounce off
Once the sparks are in they leave rust spots.
Safety squint isn’t going to do it.
I can’t watch you work like that. Look after your self. You still have a long road ahead.

Wow, You took that well. I was expecting to get an ear full back. :)
But it would have been worth it to see your safety glasses on next time.

There is something about watching someone else work in a video.
The viewer gets to focus on every little bit of detail. You can’t get away with anything
I’m trying to create some more content myself now so I know how challenging it is. ;)
Did I tell you I have owned a 60 series since new in 1988? No one to blame for anything except myself.
I’d buy another one new in a heart beat except I probably won’t see out another 33 years. Who would I leave it to?
I Watched the rest of your vid now :)
