Sean, Kevin could use some of those leaves for his goats. You might want to call him to come and get some. Unfortunately there is going to be a shortage on a lot of stuff and major hike prices. I have looked at that little chain saw but have those gone up in price. Love that saw mill. Enjoyed and thanks. Love y'all

My ex husband worked for a tree trimming company for 16 years. They were contracted through our electric company. There was always boom trucks and chippers parked around our house somewhere. He'd bring them home to change the blades and stuff. You definitely need a chipper with all the clean up you have to do. Be safe Dutch!

Use the holes to hold turquious stones/chips in resin for a table top. You can cut one side smooth and leave the other side live edged, and mount the two strait sides together to get your width. Makes a very unique top. You will need to keep it pressed flat as it dries. Hickory is so beautiful when finished that way. Can't wait to see what you end up making.

I love Hickory. It’s such a beautiful wood. We took out our original dark wood cabinets out of our kitchen and put in Hickory ones in a natural finish, kind of what Kevin and Rachel have. It really brightened up the room. There are so many different wood patterns you get from Hickory. I still think you should make a bench with some of that Hickory, even if you only use it for the seat part.

When you saw the downed tree, you immediately thought of milling boards (great idea!), firewood and chipping the little stuff. My first thought was HUGELKULTUR base. I’ve seen so many videos lately where limbs from downed trees are lined up on the ground in long rows, smaller branches/leaves intertwined and all matter of organic material piled onto them and then they get topped with soil. No need for the tubs you’ve been using although the tubs guarantee a certain height. Funny how two people see the same thing and come up with totally different uses.

I have a Stihl gas chain saw, but I have the Milwaukee M18 chainsaw. I was looking for a smaller saw and the local lumber yard had a sale. Having other M18 tools it allows me to use it for extended periods because of the other batteries. Dewalt and other brands have battery chainsaws, so depending on your brand of battery-operated tools your viewers should look into them as an alternative.

Consider using some of those off-cuts from the saw mill to sheath temporary structures like your main chicken yard. Drill holes and hang them with bailing wire, or new school zip ties. Keep the plastic tarps underneath the sheathing for better wind, rain, and snow protection; use the sheathing for its R value and aesthetics.
