Mine flew in the Burma China theater. He was a piano teacher for most of the rest of his life. In the early 1970's a student gave him a very well done P61 kit build done up with his actual ship paint and I'd numbers. Probably this same kit! It hung on the wall of his den till my nana sold the house. It is still a cherished family item.
I remember these from my childhood ( born in 67 ) , at least 50 years ago ...... ive built three or four of them with varius results...... keep building the old Monogram kits, they were wonderfull
Thats very nice finishes on those models. Excellent work. I only have one . The olive drab and the black is nice. I always have this problem which yo do. Has two different art mose girls. For the black one for right and left of nose and for Olive drab one girl for the right side. Ill probably go for the black. Good work on those. From down under Australia.👍🇭🇲🦘✌️
There are things that never go out of fashion, like the Monogram and Revell, old models. The Big stuff, of these companies, like the B-29, B-24, B-17, B-52, B-58 (one of my favorite bombers), and also the giaaaaaant grrrrrrrreeeeeaaat! B-36, provides to you, hundred of fun hours of building. One more Time, a beautiful work, with an old Classic of Revell-Monogram. Thank you for this amazing video. Great job on these builds. I have one but can only imagine what it's like to build 3 together. Was wondering if you only have WW2 kits in your stash or if you may have Revell F-14's we could see you build?
weight can go anywhere forward of the main gear, but the further forward, the less weight will be needed, inside the nacelles behind the engines is a good place for bombers and such were nose room is limited.
So I’m new to modeling and scuffed this build up twice now. Third time is a charm. Question on how you applied those red long decals did you do them in one piece?
Did you have to prewash the kit. I E. Soap and water. I'm told that alot of these older kits require it so the plastic will adhere to the paints and glue
Other than the front landing gear, you didn't seem to have any of the problems thar are haroed on about this model. Why di you think yours turned out so well as compared to theirs. No fit issues involving booms, canopies or fuselage.
I think it was because I assemble the booms togather with the horizontal stabilizer, and then attactched it to the wing. Instead of 1 boom at a time. And of course sanding and cutting to dry fit the parts

I just bought this used kit pre owned. It comes under Hasegawa Monogram. Has two versions The overall black and Olive Drab over Neutral Grey. I'm not good at getting a nice gloss finish from my airbrush by I don't mind if it turns semi gloss. Instructions are all Japanese apart from the letter indicating the Gunze colours. However I do have an idea of interior colour and landing gear bays. It's the first time I've ever bought this particular Aircraft as I didn't seem to have much interest until I got it from a bid seller but I bought as offer. Looking at it I got to like it almost immediately. As a 1/48 scale turns out to a good size and has plenty of details. I wish it moulded in grey instead of black. However that's okay. I hope I can do as good a job on this model.👍🇭🇲🦘✌️
Unfortunately I don't read Japanese so I have to go entirely by pictures and they're not as more easier to go by. So I'll have to take it easy. Fortunately I do have a list of the colour Gunze chart so that helps on that front.👍🇭🇲🦘✌️

I scored a B58 in the last show I went to, kinda worried about fit but can't wait.

Yes one peice very carefully
I just finished this kit myself. The fit on the canopy glass is atrociously bad. But otherwise it was a fun build.
