… as a German Biologist - We had a Wonderful amazing excellent Music Teacher in our German High School Already 1970 In 10th Grade He praised Glenn Gould as a Genius. Showing us “the Idea of North”… That inspired me to play the Piano Thank You Glenn!!!!
lol subtitles are having trouble keeping up with the dialogue by the 3:41 min. mark (when GG has the two men speaking at the same time. One tip I think he would have approved is to slow that part down to .75 to hear it better. That does make the guy who is fed up with Northmanship, and competition about who can tough it out the most sound a bit in his cups, though.) But am pleased to have this with subtitles at all, though. I don't think mine from the CBC collection had them. I have a kid who refuses to watch this without subtitles.
Speaking of Northmanship, and competition about who can have the toughest time there, two people who genuinely had a tough time, and lived to tell the tale, were the young men in the Transcanadian Expedition, who hiked and canoed across on a pretty high lattitude. Pete Souchuk was the photographer for the expedition, in 1977. I wonder how much GG was able to follow that and hear about their progress? I felt sure he would have known about their plans, as they were announced in several journals.

Идеально передана атмосфера. Полное погружение.
I find your comments everywhere I go to see anything related to Glenn Gould. 🌚
@@ChamMansour The comments helps to high the channel rating. Glenn Gould deserves that.
Shellac of North America brought me here.
Is this the experimental film? Because I understand that the original "The Idea of North" by Glenn Gould was only a radio broadcast.
Yes.
Here is the radio version: th-cam.com/video/TwIbUdbVqQE/w-d-xo.html
so who has created this video?
@@inamarr Glenn and his team did, just as a side experimental film. The original concept was for the radio show, as I understand.
@@aindru Did Glenn write all the texts?
Huh, all this time I thought this was about the north German music (Buxtehude,Karl Bohm etc) before Bach's time. well, what.
The ads ruin this. Shame on TH-cam.
Try TH-cam premium, no ads))
@@fmoll2509TH-cam premium is so overpriced £16.99 a month!? No thank you!
