Really diverse, lots of manufacturing, ag research, logistics and more. Sadly racism led to a significant amount of "white flight" from central Winnipeg over the last three decades, producing a bit of a donut city. But that is starting to change with several billion in developments underway downtown. Come back in 10 years and I think you will be impressed at how much more life you'll see downtown. The standard phrase is that I lived there for so many years until I moved to Calgary. And all because Winnipeg is an absolutely faceless city and many people move from there to Calgary.

The architecture is much better than in both Edmonton or Calgary, many nice older buildings, has some grit to it.
