12:30 duuuuuude this is so true. Figured this out last week. I noticed that when I get uncomfortable or unsure of what to do I would start making bad decisions that I previously told myself to stop doing. Hearing u say that was confirmation. Havnt even finished the video yet and u already spittin 🔥

I feel like the longer a session goes the more I go from careful neutral and solid play to pressing all kinds of buttons when the opponent is blocking instead of taking the time to just wait.
    This was s great vid.

Yeah for sure, happens very fast in this game. Thanks for the reply, your philosophical approach to coaching is really helpful.

Last year I was just a platinum Ken and my goal was to just win 1 round in Evo. I ended up making day 2, ending with a record of 5-2. This year I've gotten to Master consistently and my goal was just to get back to day 2 with Akuma this time. I ended up going 1-2, and can confirm completely am devastated.
Your point at 21:00 about improving my floor and learning and choosing more consistent options is a point of improvement. Your videos have really helped me plan my path for improvement and consistency! It's a tough road but I'm training with a goal to shoot for next year, with many smaller goals along the way.
Great content as always, and looking forward to more!

Great content, always a bit tough bringing yourself to train against uncommon matchups. But if you wanna climb you gotta do the time.

I resonate with what he said had a goal, beat it but wasn't happy. I played at evo as well, goal was to not go 0-2, ended up making it out of pools day 1 in losers, winning my 1st match day 2 then losing placing 513th with Bison. Lost a close set 2-1 which would've put me in top 300, was happy and disappointed at the same time
I dont get to put as much as time as I like due my career as a professional boxing coach (I train Shane Mosley Jr and work with Floyd Mayweather jr) still stings to know you could've done better

That’s super impressive to make it that far in an intense tournament like EVO despite being committed to other things full time. Hella dope fam

He started in February, he doesn’t know all the frame data yet. That is all he needs to learn to get to the next level and above. Memorize the frame data , when you are minus & plus than implement it . If you have the shakes/nerves & cant win locals because of that . Thats when mentally something is wrong . But for now, just learn the game . You have only been playing for 5 months. That woud be my advice . I placed in top 80 this yr
