We've done Walk The Line, Ring of Fire, Hurt, Personal Jesus, and now this... I'm thinking of taking a break from Johnny for the time being. What do you think I should do next?
Hi James, thank you for this tutorial! I love Johnny Cash and I love your teaching! I am one of your beginner course students but I am not learning as fast and as easily as I would like. However, at 67 years young, I never thought that one day, I could actually play a Johnny Cash song! You are the best! Thank you so much for all the time you put in in order to do those videos for us!
I absolutely LOVE how this is broken down and displayed so clearly. I can learn so much more quickly being able to see the diagram of finger placement for each chord, as well as being able to see him playing the chords showing his fingers on the fret board at the same time as the strumming. And having the sections of the song broken down makes it so much easier to repeat each section.
1st time on your website; loved the way you demonstrated "How to play Folsom Prison Blues. I pick up the guitar at the age of 78, now 81 and I'm enjoying every moment of your lessons. Thanks
For the B7 I would tell someone who’s fairly new to fret the Cadd9, move your ring finger up one string and slide it all down one fret. I find it easier to convey what is needed when I have them start at a position they know. It’s easier than one finger at a time.
Absolutely brilliant James as always. It would be good if you could do a breakdown of the middle section that was at the end of the video. Also the counting and on an electric.. Thank you you once again for the tuition..
Hey James Well done Sir! I'm new to the guitar and appreciate your guidance. I would love a little more on the solo. I used to play the saxophone and the picking comes easier to me. Thanks Scott
I'm coming to appreciate your teaching style with the split screen showing both chords and strumming. Love the break down. Am learning this one for a parody version for the family and friends. Signed up with Patreon and am thinking hard for your beginner course. And as regards the "solo", would love a whole video of that section alone. (When you have time :;))
Hey Gary, if there's anything I love, it's a good parody song. Very cool idea. Thanks for the Patreon sign up, and, yes, if a clear path to success sounds like it could suit you, the beginner course is definitely a good option. Until then though I'll see you here and there! Glad to have you as a part of the community.
1st time coming across you. I like the lesson and your style. Really love the fact you are using counting, over looked by way too many. I will throw my hat into the I'd love to see the solo lesson for this song. Also if keeping in this general style how about some Elvis/Perkins song lessons! Now I'm gonna go look for those other Man in Black songs you' mention. Keep up the good work.
Kudos to changing the format. Now you might give Cifra and GuitarZero2Hero a run for their money. You're certainly a lot better than Marty Music and Mahalo Guitar. Music selection makes all the difference. Perhaps have a couple tutors in the line up, for different genres. It's a good way to find out what your watchers are gravitating to. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Try this format out. 1st week can be classic rock. 2nd week country. 3rd week alternative rock. 4th week contemporary.
