The thing about street photography is sometimes the simplest of shot can produce great results. I'm often asked why I took a certain shot, with the reply being "Because I liked it". Which I heard you say a few times. Nice work.
Exactly! I feel like street photography is so subjective and unique to each individual. To me, not every shot has to contain this amazing, powerful story - sometimes I see shots that I just like! Thanks for watching 😊
I think 85mm is also my favorite focal lens. I have the EF 85mm f1.8, though, that I use adapted to the Canon RP. I am considering getting the RF f2 but I think I will wait until we can travel again. Thanks for your videos, they are really inspiring!
I’ve never used the EF 85mm 1.8 but I’ve heard good things about it, is it very heavy? One of the things that surprised me about the f2 is how lightweight it is. Thanks so much 😁
Norwich is a beautiful place. I'd highly recommend coming back around 8pm as the suns setting. The light that casts over the buildings is awesome, especially on the Halifax bank where the big clock is. Once the sun has fully set the lights in some of the stores make for some great pictures too as their signs really pop. Just be wary of your surroundings if you head out around that time. I'm still learning photography so it's always cool to see different perspectives. Ty!
Ooo nice! I keep meaning to go out later in the evening, but I’m waiting until I can possibly go with some other photographers so I feel a little safer. Definitely like the sound of the light! Thank you for watching 😊
@@deryncorbett Yeah I get that. I was out on Wednesday night and called it around 10pm to avoid some of the more lively characters. If you see a lad with a ginger noggin, black gloves and an Olympus MK III feel free to come say 'Hi'. I'm always willing to learn new skills from people who are far more experienced than me at this, especially as a newbie!
@@domski3453 I’ll definitely come say hi! Same goes to you if you see a brunette with a camera strapped to their chest haha. I still consider myself a newbie too! Would be up for shooting together too if I see you? 📸
@@deryncorbett Yeah i'd be down for that! It'd be very helpful to go around with someone and see a different thought process when it comes to taking pictures. Just lobbed you a follow on insta. Keep up the content!
Thank you so much! I’ve only noticed it’s slow focussing when it comes to video, other than that I think it’s great for street photography

@@deryncorbett Hi. I have this lens now (since 3 days ago :-) ). My experience so far is that when the switch is at 0,5m to infinity, the AF works great. But when it is at 0,35-0,5m (for macro photos, mostly), it works awfully. Fortunatelly for me this is no problem when trying Macro, as focusing manually is part of the fun :-). But people should know this.
Thank you! I’m not really too sure to be honest, I think because when I first got the EOS R I started using the touch screen straight away, then ever since I’ve done it that way! Odd though, because when I shoot on my Fujifilm I always use the dials 🤷🏻♀️
@@Francisfphoto_ I’d like to train myself to use the dials as it’s probably a lot quicker! I do love the control ring though and use that a lot when I’m shooting through the viewfinder 😊
Hey thank you! I personally love Canon. But I feel like all the systems are so great at the moment, they’re all making excellent cameras. It’s a good time to be a photographer 📸
Enjoyable vid and awesome shots. Such a fun lens. Thanks for sharing

@@deryncorbett I just checked and the EF with the adapter is a just a few grams heavier than the RF. I would say that weight is not an issue.
Two thumbs up!!
Great shots @Deryn🥰

Nice, relaxing and illustrative.
It cleared my fear from other reviews that the lens would not focus fast enough. Thanks for sharing.

Great video and great shots!!
Thanks Manny!
Nice video as always Deryn! Quick random question! Why don’t you use your dials when adjusting aperture and SS?

@@deryncorbett hahaha ok ok! I only use the touch screen on my R when the AF struggles! Having the 2 dials plus control ring is magic
