I agree on the importance of using filters to make things fit together, however what’s more important is the arrangement and making sure you’re not stacking too many melodies on top of each other. Each element should occupy it’s own area of the frequency spectrum without having to fight. 16bars later, that melody can go and another one can come in. Great track man, I love a bit of synth-wave 😃
Good advice, and well stated. Muchas thanksias! When I create a song *and I've created many), I try not to use too many complex melodies on top of each other. I like to have one or, at most, two melodies going at one time, over a consistent pad or lead tone (a drone or pedal tone?). That way, I don't have to resort to any extraordinary alchemy to try and "make space" for everything I'm tracking. I get that experimentation is fun, and can (and often does) lead to exciting outcomes. But for me, personally - I'm 60, and time is of much more imoprtance to me than it used to be. I like to finish my projects and get 'em out into the world. My opinion of late has been: "Done is better than perfect." lol
Yea creating space in a mix is always challenging while achieving separation. Thanks for the comment. I totally agree with you when you say "done is better than perfect"

YEs YES YES!!!
My main focus was the drums. It felt too busy for an arpeggiator IMO. Drums build up masking frequencies too.
