In the Hobbit, he is much more ruthless in his loyalty to Thranduil, so including it here would be a neat musical reference to his youthful ferocity that he lets out to defend his friend Gimli. This and the Oliphant sequence would be what I'd personally include if a full re-edit were possible. Well done!
