To be honest, reacting to anything and everything by Ren, including his street performances and all the work he did with his band (The Big Push), will please everyone who watches. The guy is multifaceted and so talented that it’s hard to dislike his art.
I just don't like it

Ren doesn't hold back. He walks the most treacherous path any performer can walk, he confronts and engages his emotions. He doesn't control them, he steps up to the edge, repeatedly. The problem for a performer is that if they let themselves get too far in, the performance itself breaks down and they can't control their voice. Ren is fearless, and so is Chinchilla. More than one of his performances has ended with him slipping over that edge, and yet he still posts and lets us see & experience the fullness of his emotion. To me, that is the definition of courage. He is not afraid to be who he is.
With Ren & chinchilla always go live versions. It’s very rare this is case. But they both are so talented they truly are just better live. How to be me, is another great duet with them. Also Fingers live version by chinchilla is a must react song asap. It’s her masterclass vocal performance ! Ren calls her his musical sister. I watched this thing on insta where he said there brains just work the same musically & she is will to take chances like him.
I’m with you hear. Because chalk outlines, how to be me, & especially fingers. I won’t even watch reactions of people doing the studio versions. It almost makes not ever even listen to the reactors again. Unless they listened to comments & re did with the live version. I’ve seen a few do fingers studio version & refused to the live one. It made me angry & I won’t even listen to them anymore lol. It’s odd I know. But it makes me angry lol.
I love chinchilla little girl gone official video! But I agree live versions on the others. I like How to be Me even better than chalk outlines. It’s so raw

Another great one with Ren and Chinchilla is How to be Me live, it's an amazing song, but everything this man does is sheer brilliance!

So pleased you did the live version although the other one is also great. I would highly recommend doing the band Ren is in doing the LIVE version of " I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/HipHop " and then back to Ren and Chinchilla doing the LIVE version of " How to be Me " and then The Big Push " Bongo Bong " then chose from any other of the 200 other brilliant and different tracks. Ren is a master of everything. Loved your reaction so great to see someone else truly appreciate God's gift to us all.
The most raw music I have ever heard . It's unique, real and genius. I feel privileged to live at this time so I can experience Ren and his many talented companions.
Chinchilla is a UK artist and a rising star on the British music scene. Ren refers to her as his musical sibling. She was a supporting act on Sting's 2019 European Arena tour and the opening act for the 2021 McFly tour. Chinchilla has also played some big European music festivals. Chinchilla recently split from her management team and is now a fully independent artist.
Her songs "Cold Water" and "Shadows [Tails]" are beautiful, “FINGERS Live for HungerTV” is amazing, but her entire catalog is worth listening to, including her brand-new release, “Little Girl Gone;” she has a lyric video, an official music video, and a live version, “Little Girl Gone Live (Requiem),” which is my favorite rendition of the three.
Again, I would recommend you also check out Ren's other collaboration with Chinchilla, "How to Be Me (live)," as well as their busking sessions in Brighton, performing “Sexual Healing” (Marvin Gaye cover) and “One Dance / Drunk in love” (Drake/Beyoncé cover). The latter are of a much more joyful nature.

Chinchilla Little girl gone Live version is a great watch Ren Losing It, the Hunger, Genesis Tales of Jenny and Screech is a must
I love her live version but love the video even more. She worked so hard on it and it’s so good.
I think the live version of Little Girl Gone is really good, but only because of the contrast with the Official Video. The official video is the best version of that one. Unlike "Fingers", where I go for the live version, I gotta go official video for "Little Girl Gone"

One that means a lot to me currently going through both severe mental issues from my time in the military and new severe physiological conditions, as well as a divorce of 10 years is Ren's song "Crutch" it's phenomenal and very few reactors have covered it
He does have some fun tunes too, Ren covers a lot of ground with his subject matter.

Love your reactions! So heartfelt! Here's a list I recently made for another reactor of the order in which Ren fans want to see songs he has multiple versions of. It consists only of songs I've see other reactors get blowback for when doing "wrong" versions first. (Almost all the "wrong" versions are worth a reaction as well, but I understand why people like them in this order. It makes the viewing experience richer.) Hope it helps. Keep up the good work!
1. THE TALE OF JENNY AND SCREECH (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) - These MUST be seen in order so the best way to do them is this version of all three which is 13 + minutes. It's best NOT to break these up into 3 video reactions. DO NOT DO THE LIVE VERSION FIRST.
2. CHALK OUTLINES (LIVE) - with the amazing Chinchilla. DO NOT DO THE LYRIC VIDEO FIRST.
3. HOW TO BE ME (LIVE) - with the amazing Chinchilla. DO NOT DO THE LYRIC VIDEO FIRST.

6. I SHOT THE SHERIFF/ROAD TO ZION/HIP-HOP - with the Big Push band. This one has 8.5 million views. DO THIS ONE FIRST.

9. Do FRECKLED ANGELS before SUIC!DE and do SUIC!DE before FOR JOE. (*this list was compliled from when other reactors played “wrong” versions and got complaints. While I’ve never seen a complaint about doing these out of order, this would seem the logical way.)
-Also, LET REN SONGS RUN UNTIL THE VERY END! Sometimes cool stuff happens after reactors stop even a couple seconds early.

Sushi, don't let anyone scare you off, especially since whoever told you that about Ren's music has only listened to certain songs I guess. Yes, while he has songs that for sure hit hard, and are super deep, and those with certain triggers, should be made aware of those songs.
But for just 33yrs old with 4 or 5 of those years spent in bed in pain 23hrs a day, Ren has quite an extensive catalogue of music, and he was really good right out the gate. He has happy songs, silly songs, hard rap songs, fun 90s hip-hop songs, rock songs full of angst, ballads, spoken word, quirky pop songs, some club/techno/rap-ish songs, two really good Island/reggae type songs, and even some classical piano songs. When we say Ren is versatile, it is literally the understatement of the decade!! As usual, great reaction, and again, I'm soooo excited you're back!!!! YAY!!

Glad to see you doing this one and Ren......I had you subbed before but had to redo my yt account so I lost you...But since then discovered Ren and his stuff and been doing the reactions randomly to explore what people think...That brought me back to you and this video and happy to see you discovered and appreciate him too...This is one of my faves by him as it lets loose his singing ability and Chinchilla was a great discovery also.
Ren does a lot of social commentary and has several songs about his struggles with illness, both mental and physical. He also has several about the childhood friend he lost to suicide. These can be EXTREMELY heart wrenching. He also has some that are just him flexing and/or having fun.
I try to warn all reactors new to Ren, do NOT watch "Violet's Tale" as a standalone video. It's available as one of his newer videos, but it's actually the third part of a trilogy. The trilogy is put together as a single video, "The Tale of Jenny & Screech (Full)". It's modern Shakespeare told by a modern bard and it can also be emotionally rough, but it's a work of art worth experiencing as the full trilogy. All three videos are live recordings as well.
For Chinchilla, I recommend "Fingers" live and "Little Girl Gone". The official video and the live version of "Little Girl Gone" are different enough and both so good that you may want to do them both. It would be hard for me to pick a favorite.
Ren is very empowering and supportive for other artists or people, inspiring to find their own creativity. One brave example for me is Moss.e, wo first put out an own version of "Hi Re" , (Hi Moss) and now reseased her first original. She also started busking. As you could hear, she had her own struggles. like "Hi Moss" showed. Ren himself admires it and follows her. So I would suggest Moss.E : "Watch It Burn". Raw, vulnerably, touching, brave. She will never be in glittering talent shows or chart material, I suspect. Different.☀🌧🌈

I honestly feel your next Ren should be the tale of jenny and screech, the almost 14 minutes long version with all three tales, yes three, no research just go in blind.
But fare warning, it's rough, I do mean rough, it's sooo beautiful in its genius and musical brilliance, but it's deeply tragic, just warning it's not a sweet subject, but is a definitely necessary Ren watch.

SO, I Suffer from really bad headaches. they got me medicated and i was feeling amazing and then my insurance ran out. the pain that i was so used to at one point felt like a train hitting me. Now i just live with it, it is just back to being annoying but the thought of it going away and then it coming back after i forgot how to deal with it is so much scarier. it is not a mental health issue but that is what i got from this song about myself.
The line being "scared to feel ok, cause all things change" referes to taking the anti-depressants "just in case" as he mentions just previous, not taking a chance. Like, i'm ok right now, but it could change in a few hours, so i better take the pills to prevent both. Chalk outlines, is in reference to that sort of numb state that some pills can put you in. You're walking around, alive, but almost dead anyway. Chincilla mentions "Sertraline and a sip of seratonin" in her first line. Antidepressant and the happy chemical in your brain. I was on Sertraline about 3,5 years ago, and this song hit hard when i first heard it. 100% describes how it felt. You become a zombie. Not happy, not sad, not suicidal but not interested in living.

Since you are only two songs into your Renaissance, I would highly reccomend "Sick Boi" next. It is the companion song to "Hi Ren" and is a little more upbeat than its counterpart. I would also highly reccomend staying away from "Crutch" and "Suicide" until you have 5-10 Ren songs under your belt. Those two songs hit quite hard and should be worked up to.
All there is is this version and of course when he plays at concerts. This is a one take (Live) so they did this in one take no editing nothing
Try something a bit more light hearted next time.

If you want something really fun by Ren do his busking with chinchilla sexual healing cover. Or What you want, this his hat tip to 90s hip hop and Beastie Boys. It’s maybe the most fun music videos I’ve seen in years. Or Power by him. It’s very smart to mix up his songs. Change genres, styles, etc. because he does everything. But yeah the ones i mentioned up there. Are super fun & great 👍

Hey Sushi, I go back to the old days with you and I am glad you are going down the Ren rabbit hole, time for you to branch out with Ren. He has so many ways to go that it's hard to pick which way to go.
For some reason I want to be a little gentle at first so for two different directions with Ren and I am going to suggest,
Ren is a fantastic Rapper, don't know if you are a fan of Rap, but I wasn't either except for Ren. I'm going to suggest a very easy and enjoyable rap, less than 3 minutes long and there are many examples of his rap that is much more skilled, but this is a good way to understand Ren also. The song in Bittersweet Symphony,

Another branch of Ren is his work with The Big Push that is fantastic, I honestly get an old Beatles feel before they made it big. They are famous for their busking,, British for street performing that you have to see, but I'm going gentle again and want to start you with Praise You. Again, this is another short video, just over 3 minutes, maybe do the 2 together, but this is a good way to introduce this band.

BTW, you want another heavy hitting Ren that is not the usual request, try Dominoes, it will have you fired up and in love with Ren even more. There is a live version, but for this one you need the studio version to get the lyrics ., very moving
