Meisterkurs Dirigieren | Bernard Haitink | Lucerne Festival at Easter | Brahms, Tragische Ouvertüre

Vom 22. bis 25. März findet in Luzern bereits zum fünften Mal ein Dirigiermeisterkurs mit dem Niederländer Bernard Haitink statt. Am Pult der Festival Strings Lucerne können Studierende aus der ganzen Welt zentrale Werke aus Klassik, Romantik und früher Moderne erarbeiten und mit Haitink nicht nur ihre interpretatorischen Ansätze, sondern auch ganz praktische Fragen des Dirigierens diskutieren. Sehen Sie hier Ausschnitte aus dem Meisterkurs von 2013 mit Johannes Brahms' "Tragischer Ouvertüre" d-moll, op. 81.

Uploaded in March 2015, the footage receives my comment as the third so far. Why so few comments, I just wonder, though. Like the young Israeli conductor here, I have enjoyed listening to Bernard Haitink's numerous recordings for so long. I also like the way the Dutch master (I want to use this word instead of the usual "maestro" for the obvious allusion to the painters of the Golden Age) teaches young people here, with his warm, sincere, friendly and at times strict approach. The world will miss him indeed.
