    What a great first Cello there! Just total dedicated to the student conductor...Big respect to musicians and orchestras like that...we should give to them all of our life.

    Haitink's pseudo-romantic assumptions are pure drivel. He could just make the statements based on purely musical considerations and the composer's working out of ideas. The rest is BS.

      you do not have to agree with the more subjective elements of a masterclass or teaching setting. but you should show respect for a musicians lifetime of immersion and consider what he has to say.

      @@novagerio9244 I think Keith should get empathy rather than censure. He must be surrounded by a shell of considerable hardness if he is not sensitive to the late Haitink's humanity, his total dedication to his young colleagues and to the music they make together.
      It must be difficult to be Keith.
