- Working on this Mercedes CLA was a real challenge, I really wanted to document the install as best as I can and therefore the video is pretty long but I hope the information on this can help others in the future.

So what if a cla doesn’t come with color changing ambient lights, how would the color changing vents work with the screen if the car didn’t come with the color changing ambient lighting package from the factory?

Yep it is possible, you just need to code the car for the vents, the other lights are universal so nothing extra needed for that.

can you explain how this ambient lighting connects/shows up to the centre console andif it's possible without replacing the vents?
Hi mate, so the vents and door handles have tapped into the original wiring harness (the white connector on the driver door) which then tells the other lights what to do. So the original display for light controls is still possible. The other kit used (my normal kit I use) is controlled via the phone and its the contrasting lights.

Running into the same issue installing ambient lights in my a class for the rear doors... Got It working on front doors but no usable live 12V on rear doors... Brilliant solution! Which pins did you use in the pillar connector? Do you have a link where i can buy them? I believe CLA ad A share the same wiring harness. Thanks.

no its more the camera, but it does have a little more "light" in those corners because of the way everything is installed. Its not something you notice as much when actually using the lights
The module you connected to the cigarette lighter only gives you power so how do the vents light up with the cars ambient light

Hey Mr GCC did you drill a hole into the left air vent to fit the second ambient light for the center piece or is there enough space to fit the optic cable through ?

Hello i have a a class w176 from 2014, i ordered on aliexpress a ambiance lightning kit that work with bluetooth between every door but on the rear i connected the red and black to a little things who is use for led under the head on the seats and now it turn on and off every seconds, what am i supposed to do now ? So the vent lights are synchronised with the cars original ambient lighting yep

How do you Get the full set of colours om the car screen? Do you install a code or?
If you put the ignition on, does the light turn on or do you need to turn it on via the light switch?
For this install it turns on when the car I on. Other installs I have done when it only turns on with the lights. I.e. only at night time

The vents and door handles I believe were around £300 in total shipped to UK and the universal Ambient Light kit is £60 on the eBay link. If you want to know fitting prices etc please get in touch on Instagram and we can discuss it there?

Amazing work! Is there anything that can be done to dim the light at the outer end of the ambient tube? It's way too bright at the ends I can't hide it under or in any panel.

Blue vents and blue lines would of looked OK all blue something doesn't seem right at the end of this video

Hi I have ran into a problem, I have got a Mercedes A class 66 plate and I was installing the ambient lights today everything was going fine, I managed to get the dash sorted and footwells. But as I was trying to do the passenger door I tapped into the main wires which where brown and red. The lights were working for the passenger door but as I was putting the door card back on the wires ended up coming out and the lights stopped working and now when i put a multimeter to check it is showing as 0V but it was 12V before. Ive tried putting the door panel and all the electrical clips back together but nothing for the passenger door is working. Could you please help me
Hi mate, this is something that could be linked to a few things. Check fuses, I think the a class has a fuse for the rear doors. Another thing. Check the module is there is one in the rear door (I can't remember if it's there on the car)
@@mrgcc thank you I managed to get it sorted, basically what happened the wires ended up touching each other which caused the fuse to blow so I just changed it.
Another question I’ve got for you we’ve got a 2014 Mercedes S class which already has the standard ambient lighting how would you recommend to go about it as the lights are not that bright, would you say to remove them lights and replace them with the new lights that you use or would you say to leave them as they are and just do a new run
