In this makeover, I transform a mid-century modern dresser into a piece that's guaranteed to make any room POP.
I purchased this piece off of Facebook Marketplace and picked it up locally for $60. When I saw the seller's photos, I thought I would be going with a rustic industrial cabinet style, but as soon as I saw it in person, my vision changed completely. The way the body was shaped, along with the design of the handles, reminded me of a hot red classic sports car from the 50s.
Painting in such a bright red color felt ambitious and out of my comfort zone, but I'm glad I followed through with the idea and I love the way it turned out. It's always better to try and fail than to let fear stunt your growth.
If you enjoyed this makeover, please like and subscribe to see more. And if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer your comments.
    Thank you for watching :)

Wow, Modern. If there were any imperfections in the finish, it would have shown in that bright sunlight. Perfection as usual. I have heard of people taking items to a auto body shop to have them painted, that beautiful auto lacquer. You can save money by going with the same paint color they are doing a particular car they are doing. Or just wait until they are doing a color you like. This saves them the time of cleaning everything up and switching to another color. This is a show stopper to be sure.

as a former professional painter, and currently working in a paint store, I would have recommended also doing a layer of a medium gray primer over the shellac before spraying the red. this would have created a more solid and smooth color finish for the red to go over, so it wouldn't have taken as many coats to cover the imperfections. other than that, it turned out amazing!
