Something you might try as an option to superglue is Dewaxed Shellac. Two coats 20 minutes apart. Fine steel wool, tack cloth and poly varnish. Sterl wool that first coat of poly, tack cloth and second coat. Its really fast and durable. Varnish doesnt need to be built up with many multiple coats.
LOL, when I was a kid, a rubber broke at full draw, and it popped me in the eye. Boy did that hurt for a while. We shot marbles and there are still marbles all around Tomah Wi. today and now I'm 82. You hit a bird with a marble and knock feathers all over. We would look for the perfect crotch that would fit our hand and bingo you had a fine slingshot.
great build Mike, gotta watch those routers, they bite, lol. BTW, what you're calling butt caps I personally consider them as palm swells ? Butt caps to me are different woods glued to the very end of the handles opposite the fork tips, but still, beautiful frame my friend. Love the frame I got from you. ( Sling-N-Shot )
Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is go to the killing woods with a pocket knife, bandset, and some ammo, then come out with fresh killed game. Of course you have to bring us along via your great video story telling/ instruction/ skill/ entertainment through the process of a pocket knife build, getting on target, and then completing a hunt. I know you videoed all the parts. It would be epic to do all of it in one video, on the fly. This message will self destruct in 24 hours.😂
Man this was a great video 👍 Locust is some of my favorite, but seeing someone put a marker on wood made me jump up and down and pull my hair out and scream and shout . Beautiful outcome anyway 👌
Very nice !! Man ...since i've been watching your channel i have been inspired to make a few myself. None as nice as yours but still fun. Great video. I always learn something new. Thanks!
The difference between an average catty and a fancy shiny catty is just how long you spend sanding! Stay tuned for the next episode of MIKE SANDS! 😂 Thanks for the positive feedback!
Very very good video! thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. And to top it off you skull capped a pheasant!! Can't imagine it getting much better than that?!!! But I'm sure you'll find a way.
I love your channel and your build vids. I did find your eBay page but noticed that all your slings were 100 mm, do you ever make 90? If you did I would jump all over that.
In my experiences the wider the forks the closer to your eye that I make my ancer point so wide forks up hight on the face nerwower forks closer to my mouth in my experiences that is while shooting otf so it just depends on your shootin and well you and what you like
I put up batches on eBay. There are only a couple up right now, they sell pretty quick, but more should drop next month. www.ebay.com/usr/sturmslingshots
Really glad I found your channel. The builds you do are works of art. 👍👍👍👍👍
I'm glad you found it too! Thank you
@@sturmslingshotsandshenanigans Here’s a question for you, ammo, 11mm, who do you prefer to order from? Thanks for the reply!!!
@@Chef047 both of the bulk suppliers on Amazon are good. I can't tell the difference. They come in packs of 500 or 600.

Sounds like you grew up well. Hard to beat a natural fork.

Yeah you are completely correct. I just get to talking and whatever comes out. They are definitely palm swells.

I do occasionally.
Actually, I just checked there is a 90mm frame up there right now.
Do the wider forked frames cut down on finger slap from the pouch?
Maybe a bit.

Love your frames bub!

Dude if you ever want to sell a frame let me know. I can’t get anything like you make here and we don’t have the wood like you

Any new upcoming slingshots for sale?
Eventually. They are starting to stack up on me again.
Try to make one. I've got a good frame I'd like to get set up, I just need bands. It's easy.
How do we buy your stuf

um abraço meu amigo ( brasil brasilia )
I'm more of a firm handshake kind of guy. 🙂
I hope you reply to this
I do my best to reply to everything
I’ll say no to a sanding video 😂😂👍
Am I right in thinking you space between the forks is only 2.5” ? Thanks as always
Just wait... You're going to love it! And 2.25 on nearly all of em.
