She better learn about those off-peak charging hours lol. I never pay more than $11 to go from 20% to 100%
she just bs for views.
Lit, I never pay more that 9 or $10 when I charge it after 11pm lit it could be 17cent per kWh
Even at high-peak it doesn't cost that much..i don't know what country she lives in
When it’s time to Replace that Tesla battery over $10,000.00 it will make up for those cheap prices 😂
@@idcnetwerk9265 you mean when you hit 200K miles? (or more). Are you familiar with transmission costs on gas cars?
Since my tesla is older - its grandfathered in to when supercharging was free - so it cost me nothing still
Lucky bastards 😭
🤩
Excellent investment then.
Nothing costs something
@@LebronCCP judging I'm in that boat. It's fucking time. Charges slower and isn't as efficient as newer Teslas.
Idk what supercharger she was using, I used two different superchargers and it cost me $8-9.
She's in Australia.
maybe in commifornia where they're so 3rd world that electricity isn't cheap but florida it's cheap af.
In CA the peak price can be killer
@@joegee3851 yeah it's hilarious how fucking retarded CA is. They want to go full EV which i'm down but they only have good ideas and no solutions to make those good ideas sensible. literally my brother got tesla solar so that he doesn't get outages which CA is known for.

@@dasunikat1534is it more expensive there? Not sure it was a great idea to shutdown all those nuclear plants,
@@vxnova1 Cheapest you get here is around 30$ for 80kwh. Usually it's around 45$ for 80kwh.
25 us dollar is about 40 au dollar. Same thing
That’s insane!!! For me to charge from home it’s $.07 per kWh and a super charger typically costs me between $10-$15 between Pittsburgh area and Cleveland area. Destination chargers are clutch too!! Free and appearing at so many hotels.
And gets about half the real range of a gas car so very comparable
@@bobby45 not even close. That cost is at a super charger only. When I am at home I can charge 0 % TO 100% for $3.50 and that's 240 miles. Find me that price for gas. I have only used a super charger maybe a dozen times in 3 years.
Here in CA is .24¢and .63¢ peak times. It’s ridiculous!
$40 is expensive? My Tahoe costs $120 to charge a full tank. Yeah Supercharge me all year.
My vw atlas cost me 55. Damn was gonna get a tesla but not if it's that expensive
Yeah but if your range is 250, some large engines can go 4-500 miles
So that would be 80
@@johnshorba what kind of car ?
@@stimulatemyexistence5669 Charging rate slows as the battery gets closer to full so it's faster and cheaper to charge to say....80% than it is to go the full 100% which costs a lot more and takes a lot longer.

Facts
It's Australia
Clearly she has an Australian accent their dollars are worth less and also their electricity is more expensive
I’m honestly super surprised. In Texas I suppose it’s just a lot cheaper to charge it. Overnight it costs me about $1.50 a night and a supercharger 20-90% is about $8-$12.
How much to do you normally have to charge at night? I do about 20-30% (10-15 kWh) night. Just curious
@@dcheard2 I charge usually about 25-40%. Depending on the day. But it averages $45 a month.
That’s 1 tank for truck truck a week. Nice. Looking into getting a Tesla after truck. $45 for a month at home, good deal. What I made your thoughts from gas vehicle to Tesla? Sounds like your daily and I would start off for work, superchargers available and calculations is $8 100% from zero so $4 for 50% like a motorcycle at that price. Thanks for your input.
After reading comments, it feels like the 90’s with LAN calls, call after 6pm for free. This case is charge your Tesla after 10pm for lower charge rates, state, city, gov’t tax not included.
It’s seems like gas is doubled just for electric purchase when cost of it was what gas was previously. Costly too, $60,000 for a starting off, could just get a Ford Raptor Ranger or F-150.
Another way to make it free: hook it up to your neighbors house.
lmaoo
Isn’t that illegal?
@@Vuongiam only if they find out, and one way to make sure they don’t, plug into the back porch
It depends on the location and time. I use supercharger near me that costs 21cent per kWh before 8am, $12 from 5%-100% for my RWD model 3
It’s $10 in Chicago
Not me thinking that you can charge it for free!😂
Mine charges for free since i bought it when that was still a thing
@@FunandBudget - Me too when I ordered a '20 MS on a sales incentive in Oct 2019, even nicer when a SC station opened 0.3 miles away, previous was 5 miles, got lucky.
that’s crazy. I’m mad i’m paying .38 cent a kw in Albuquerque New Mexico. cost me 17 dollars to fully charge.
Here in Quebec it's around 0.07$/kWh. Price difference is insane. Go renewable power!!
I’m glad I get to charge at work for free 😊 owned my car 3 months and only spent 15 dollars for the few times I’ve had to charge at home
If you go after midnight in Houston it’s about $6-7 to charge a standard range 3
Wait you want me to wake up in the middle of the night to just charge my car?
@@hverrett9212 That means it be much cheaper to charge at home while you sleep. Like everyone says. This depends on your location. Tesla superchargers have peak and off peak rates just like your home.
She's not in America,, her accent is from Australia or Newzealand
How much at normal hours?
@@baldpnoy410I’m curious about the electricity bill with the wall charger setup at home 🔌
Damn $0.27/kWh is pretty expensive!
Edit: YOU CHARGED AT $0.68/kWh!?!? HOLY CRAP! Never knew they could get that high… highest I’ve ever seen after 5 months of ownership was $0.39! So cut yours in half if your not in a major city I assume
In Germany, we pay €0.4 on average, sometimes even more…
lol in canada where i live electricity is 7.4 cents per KWH after 11pm... would cost like 4 bucks to charge a tesla
To be fair I would like to know the factors that lead to that $40. Not many are charging from 0 to 100. Did you charge off peak hours or on peak time? And what state are you in because I believe California for example has some of the most expensive prices compared to the rest.
This is in Sydney, Australia.
Cost me roughly $5 for 1-100% at home. That is wild.
you shouldn't charge to 100%. Time is money and charging slows down the closer it gets to 100%. Charge to 80% and save a lot of money.
👍🏼 Also increases wear on lithium batteries. Keep it charged between 40-80% to extend lifespan if able. Same with phones laptops etc
Good lord. I live in Portland, OR and a full charge from sub 10% to 100% costs about 18 dollars. Supercharger rates do vary though. There is one down in the southern part of the state that is, for whatever reason twice that amount. Other than that, I have never paid over $25.00...
I like the free charging while you shop, cause you're already paying for stuff in the mall.
Some Tesla super chargers in south Florida are ONLY 17¢ a kWh to charge off peak (before 8am). I always bring my pre workout and drink it while it charges, then head to the gym about twice a week. I live in an apartment, so I can’t charge it, but it’s like the same price as my electricity bill
Imagine charging at off-peak at superchargers
Wrong is more like $17 - 20 CAD (did it today)
I normally charge at $5-$8 from 20%-90% if I charge before 8am at any super charger. I don’t know how it works in Australia but dang $40?? That’s a full tank of gas in a small car
Just imagine how expensive it'd be if everyone in the planet had one . Itd be just as expensive as gas cars
Don’t tell them that.
She's in AUSTRALIA
I did the whole math on a excel sheet…
The conclusion is hybrid is a better all around choice…
There is no options with enough space for cargo and room offer in a SUV style…
The model x is 125k which you can get a hybrid sequoia, grand highlander, telluride, atlas, Mercedes gle etc all those SUV for cheaper and it will take 10-15 years for electric car to see any savings..
More ev companies need to enter the US market (NIO) and create SUV that are affordable…
must be California. Midwest at home might cost $8 and supercharging for the biggest battery about $28
Sydney, Aus, different currency
Your car should tell you peak and off peak charging prices for the supercharger. My 2015 model S does so I am sure your newer car will as well..
It kinda varies in which state/country you are for the home price where i am living its 6 cents to charge it
yeah it's like 15$ per month in electricity bill, where my turbo porsche cayenne used to fill up for 100$ when gas was 5$ per gallon.
OC during peak hours which is basically 9am- 9 pm .50 cents. Easily adds up to $40 if you need to charge full. The prices have gone up so much it’s not that great anymore
It depends on many factors, when, where, how fast, how long, and how long did you idle (cable connected without charging). Excluding free charging places, the cheapest is at home during off peak hours.
I supercharged from 20% to 90% the night before Thanksgiving up in Jersey. It cost $13. This was during off peak hours @ 23 cents per Kwh.
I'll stick to gas
#1 - I never charge on the road. I always charge at home
#2 - Even if you pay the astronomical sum of $40 to charge your car, have you seen gas prices lately? I was out in California last week and gas was over $6 a gallon. A 15 gallon tank will cost around $100 to fill up!!!
But again, if you're like the average American, who only drives about 40 miles a day, there's never a need to charge on the road and if you pay 25 cents per kWh and are filling up an 80 kWh battery from 20% to 80%, it'll take you 5 hours on a 40A level 2 charger and will cost you $12.
Charging my bmw for 40€ full. The diesel lasts for 500 miles. I can not recommend Tesla if you live in Germany. We have no speed limit in the german autobahn / highway. So whenever you see a Tesla driving he is blocking the entire traffic because they are just too slow for our traffic. So to all Tesla drivers in Germany: please keep right behind the trucks and dont block the traffic. Because you need to drive at least 120 mph or 200 kmh when changing to the left lane, which your car is simply not capable of.
Texas here my current plan is 9.9c a Kw so it's roughly 6$ a full charge at home.
What many don’t know is that EVs are very efficient. From fueleconomy government website: The MPGe equivalent of the Tesla model 3 is 132 combined city/highway, city is 138, highway 126. No ICE comes close. 25 kWh/100 miles, do the math. No oil changes, no tuneups, very seldom brake jobs if ever, thanks to regen braking. Current base price of a RWD a Model 3 is $38,990 less tax credit, if any, you may qualify for.
In Canada too, used 3s are starting to become viable options for people that don't have oodles of disposable income.
I think you should also add the time to charge in this equation. Also supercharging depends on the local cost of electricity. I did a trip from So Cal to Seattle and while in Oregon the price was way cheaper than California and Washington.
Super chargers to me are designed for road trips, and if you desperately need a charge, so you are paying for that convivence... Just charge at home when you can, or look for the free chargers.
It depends on location/state, time of day, speed of the charger and electric provider. Also, many shops, restaurants, hotels and even local governments offer free charging when your using their services.
I pay here for my Model 3 Performance only $18-$20 CAD at most for full charge at a Supercharge! and usually $2 a day if I recharge at home...
During non peak charging times I spend a little over 7$ sometimes 8 depending on day and time of night try charging from 12-4am that’s the lowest costs time to charge the car
What the hell 😅 I charge my Tesla at home 0.09/kWh CAD. That rate is insane!
I think I’ll stick with my Honda fit which gets 35 bucks for a full tank and will last me at least 2 weeks
My utility company doesn't have off-peak rates, sadly, but I have solar panels. All my electricity is free (except for the upfront payment for the panels, which will pay for themselves after approx. 12 years), so except for road trips, driving my EV is virtually free.
my 80% charge cost me less than $15 around 8pm or before 11am. Depends on location and time you charge
Drove from Utah to San Diego CA, cost $60 one way
Me on my way to fill up my gas guzzling v8 to the gas station for the 2nd time in the week for another $50 🗿
-laughs- *cries in v10 tdi*
Got free life-of-ownership at any SC with my '20 Tesla. Nearest SC station is 0.3 miles from my house, got real lucky.
Yeah, coming from a Prius, I was shocked Supercharger was more expensive. I try and avoid them as much as possible.
It cost me $5.74 to charge my Tesla Model 3 long range with the 82 kilowatt battery pack. Off peak at 7 cents a Kilowatt. On peak at 22 cents a Kilowatt it would cost me $18.04. At 38 cents at a super charger it would cost $31.16. So when and where would you charge?
Fun thing about the future of power generation, this may become free/part of taxes. And since electricity will be so cheap, you probably wouldn’t have to pay much more than a dollars worth extra in taxes, win by my standards if it means I don’t have to look at “6.9$” for a gallon
It depends on the cost of electricity in your area. It costs me about $7 to fully charge at home in Pennsylvania.
go in the shopping center and get a 5 dollar coffee
Mfs with solar pannels:😂😂
Never charge your Tesla or any EV to 100%. It’s best to charge it to 80%. That’s the quickest time the chargers charge; from 10% - 80%. It will take almost the same time to go from 10-80% as it takes to go from 80-90%. This is a huge waist of time and money to take it past 80%. For long trips it’s ok to charge to 100, but for normal use, just 80% is the standard recommendation.
The superchargers where I live at cheap cheap. 14 bucks for a full charge
That’s If you live in a really expensive area. Obviously charging cost depends on where you charge and what company’s infrastructure you are using. Tesla Supercharging is the most expensive for me on average it’s about $20-$30 to fully charge. Other companies like ChargePoint and Blink are cheaper but slower. For me ChargePoint cost $5-$6 to fully charge and blink is about $15-20. At home it’s the cheapest around $3-$5 I live in Scottsdale Arizona.
It costs me about a dollar to fully charge in Oregon…at home that is…
It’s better then paying for gas 😂
I pay about $4 here in south florida and about $11 at peak hrs.
That's crazy. I'm in RI it's $20 0-100% any time, no off-peak discounts.
@@OtisFlint wow. I guess it varies a lot state to state
Man im bleeding!
In a minute its on 14%
I'm starting to realize it definitely depends on your state bc in mine I'm only paying $12 to charge my Model 3 from 5 to 95%
How do you spend $40 on charging it costs me like $15
Obviously from California or close by. My price per kWh is 25% her numbers for the EV due to the local utility EV special TOU rates @ 6 cents per kWh. Also the supercharger pricing was also outrageous. Highest price anywhere from here to FL is 44 cents per kWh and that is only during peak times.
In ct model 3, $12 from 20% to 90%
$30-40 level 3 charging
Hi,
I thought it took about 3 days to go from 0-100% charging at home on the mobile charger
That's on US architecture, on countries that have their homes run on 240v instead of 120v, (ie. Australia, and europe I believe?), they can easily charge at home on a wall plug overnight.
That's crazy I at home i pay about 3ish 4ish dollars to fully charge and at a charger usually max 15 in califorina 25 ? Is like peak hours and your take breaks doing donuts in the middle of charging
Tesla charging is about 20% inefficient. There are pumps, chillers, inverter ineffiency, and line losses that you pay as you charge. A rule of thumb: add 20% to the kwh rate you calculate with.
Charged my MY last night, from 33% to 100. It cost £2.98 GBP (7.5p per Kwh off-peak)
She cant charge her car during a blizzard even for free power line are down experiance pays off.
Don’t charge to 100%. Bad for the battery unless it’s for a long road trip (even then try to charge to 90 or 95) or your car has the LFP battery (model Ys don’t)
Also, I hate the charging while you shop thing. People hogging the charger without actually needing it or needing it for that long, while others are desperate for a charge.
At $0.083 / kWH- at home it would only cost $6.3 to “fill-up” my Model Y. (75 kWH)
For 9 months of working, never paid to charge.. my employer have charging stations. Now I work a little late, been paying once a month approximately $10 now.
Make sure to tap it on the tail light
I may be in Europe how much do you pay per kilowatt?
For where we live it costs us $20 bucks to go
23miles-325miles
$.27 per kWh is insanely expensive. It’s $.12 where I’m at.
It's also when you charge off peak it would have probably been $20
Regardless gas prices are insane rather pay for electricity
My civic is 30$ a tank. Lol
i just switched from a civic to model 3 because my civic was $45 a tank 😭 i have free chargers outside my apartment that i use though lol
I don't have ev but my work also has chargers you could use for free.
How much is gas where you're from? A civic has a 13gallon gas tank..gas is like 4.50 in C.A where i'm near by. 13×4.50=$58.50
$40? The most I’ve spent from 10% to 92% was $16. Warm up your battery and avoid peak hours. Yesterday I paid $8 from 20% to 92%.
What state is this in?
For the people in the comments saying it’s expensive than how much it cost for them. You’ve obviously never lived in California. Everything is 2x the cost
If something is free other people are paying for it. This would explain why they no longer have bags and why food prices are on the rise at Walmart.
all ev owners should know that charging to 100% Is not recommended unless you are going on a long trip
It depends on the battery you have. Newer EV can be charged up to 100%
I love how long you shop honey!!
$40 seems extremely stiff. I get 400 miles on gas for around $35 too.
OMG that’s insane. I pay 6$ at home to charge and 14-16$ at supercharger. Also most public chargers are free to use
With $40 dollars of fuel I can go for 2 weeks on my car. Never have to worry about anything!
Ive never paid over $25 in the 2 years i owned mines.
Usually $10-$20
I’ve never paid that much to charge and I’m in California with the highest electricity rates. Also charging during peak hours isn’t the best idea.
cost me $17 to charge my longe range model Y in the super charger and I live in Dallas. So it will probably cost me around $5 at home. Where you live matters
You stopped making videos? Why?
They broke up
Mine supercharges for $15 max. I guess the electricity price is better in Florida. Even though Florida Power and light sucks.
It’s about 18-20$ in the states to charge the model y to full. You have to be in Europe for those prices.
Unfortunately no! Those rates 20-30c Per kilowatt is the price in many U.S. markets. Where I live, about a year and a half ago. Rates were about 8-12 cents. Now it's like 20-30cents. It's ridiculously. Energy prices have gone up more than 70%
