I think that for any charity which asks for help it will cause an emmotional reaction , look at This article it's playing on people's emotions itself as do pamphlets that we get and tv adverts that we see , i mean if their isn't a human connection to the cause then we won't want to give however we won't get angry at the tv commercial but because it's human interaction we decide it's not ok ,
Well, there's no logic towards helping a charity, let's be honest, you do it because of an emotional attachment to the cause. Obviously there are boundaries to not cross, but if the Charities are still using professional fundraisers it means they need the money they raise for the cause no?
I live in Canada and most terrible fundraising experience I've been involved in, as a target, was at work. Working at a large American multinational, there was an incredible amount of pressure put on front-line managers like me to put pressure on my direct reports to give to the United Way. V.P.s yelling at us lowly managers, veiled threats, it was intense! Talking to a friend of mine who worked in public education, he said there was also a fair bit of pressure put on him there to, but not to the same extent.
Those who can afford to pay, pay a lot (tax burden is highest it has been since just after the war). The government is just very good at wasting it on failed schemes and misallocation.
@@chrislaurenceleo The richest 10% already pay 50% of all tax in Britain. If those people were all to move to lower tax countries like Ireland, because you raise the tax on them, you've just lost half of all tax revenue. And what will you foolish socialists do then?

I have never given them a cent of my money. Never. I was a boy when my father called my attention to the manipulation of emotions they resort to in order to extort people.

This should be very, very illegal. They’re so cunning that I don’t even say ‘sorry, no’ any more, as I tend to smile a lot so they latch on to that. I just close the door now. Don’t even make eye contact. They’re not worth it. They see you as an ATM & nothing else.
That was St Jude not Shriners That called me for More money!!. I do give to them (Shriners) every month along with 9 others as that is part of my titih to My Lord every month! Like food for Kids Paralyzed Vets Food for Vet's Families, Covenant house and others!! But only if they are postage paid as that is one way to make sure they are A charity!! and Not A Scam!!
I am already forced to give a large portion of my income to charity already every year. They call it taxes, and it already helps to fund hospitals like this one. I choose to focus on earning more which means I end up “giving” more to “charity” as a result
Are charity fundraisers right to target people's emotions?

How is it any different to what marketing companies around the country are doing?

And soo what? Just like every other corporation does
I never answer the door unless I can recognise who it is on my CCTV. My phone only accepts calls from people in my contacts. It's bliss.

Stop being polite and say NO THANK YOU and sut the door. Or say you give to a charity at this time thank you and shut the door.
Or say "no thank you" in a polite way 🤷🏻♂️
@@kmendiant49lovely in theory, but these people WILL exploit weakness and hesitation.
What you thanking them for? They're trying to take your money. Tell them to #### off and shut the door.
Just truly SICK! All should be in jail
First we need to tax the people who can afford to pay. The NHS is funded through tax not charity

They find a lot of young people that are innocent or old goid people that are believing that they help in order to monetise things
its basically begging but worse because they try and make you feel guilty
Then again, how do people know if the money is going to them and not the charity?
Great video , thats what is happening in the world , its a business.

Im having a hard time understanding why you just don't say NO THANK YOU and shut the door.

Don't think I want to contribute to the six figure plus expenses salaries of the CEOs of a lot of these national charities.

It generally takes me about 2-3 seconds to say not interested and close the door. I pick the charities I donate to, I don't let the charities pick me.
I guess it's that simple. Just say no
If I pitched you id sign you up lad 😂😂😂
You always get picked up by the charities.

I used to work for Home Fundraising in Manchester, England in 2012. Let's just say there were some very dubious practices going on.
