  • I finally get around to installing my Headlight & Grill from Land Cruiser Grilles on my Toyota Land Cruiser 100!
    Land Cruiser Grilles has changed the top brackets on the headlight housings since this install (I have the older ones). You may need to use washers as spacers on the top bolt to shim the grill out to where you want it.
    Update: If you have the odd "High beam on" issue contact Gary at innovativewirin...
    for a Relay Harness.
    I paid for these items, this video is not sponsored in any way. For more information about the headlight and grill go to landcruisergri....

    It'll look even better once the grill gets a little dirt and sun exposure and 1:1 color matches the bumper.

    Looks good, reminds me of a 60 series landcruiser, trying to do the same thing to my 3rd gen 4Runner

    They look great but at $550 + $60 = $610 before the 7" headlights are purchased. Very expensive set up. I used to run the Hella H4 7" lights which were fantastic. Highly recommended.

      Totally valid point! I started down this path because one of the headlight assembly's cracked due to a rock, a Genuine Toyota Passenger Side Headlight Assembly runs over $300 each. Knowing that my rig would most likely have the same injury down the road, I started looking for long solutions that would cost less in the end; if that makes sense.. Cheers!

    These look great, and I appreciate the install video. How do you like them now that you’ve had them for a while? Would you purchase them again? Also, how’s the noise from those headlight surrounds? It seems like they’d create more turbulence at the front end, but not sure if you notice it in the vehicle. Thanks!

      Thanks for watching! Yes, I would purchase them again; other than getting the wiring issue fixed I have never regretted getting them. Don't think that it made the rig any louder, hard to say since the roof rack makes the most noise and it right next to my head.

    Hey there, was wondering if you ever go the headlights wired up properly and how has the mod held up? I just took the plunge and did the install on the grill and headlight conversion. Thanks!

      I ended up going with a 6" jeep light mod that I really liked; the Relay Harness from Gary at innovativewiring.com worked great even with the jeep mod

    I was actually wondering about the clip you connect the side lamp housing to the cruiser grill headlight housing with. Black connector?

      @OverlandTrax  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh! I think they are called Interior Panel Retainers, local autoshop should have them. Hope this helps!

      The grill and headlight come as two separate products from Land Cruiser Grilles. Thanks for watching!

    Could you forward me a wiring harness for this conversion? Or can I buy any 7 inch and plug in to my existing harness

    • @OverlandTrax

      Gary Clark builds them custom for each customer, you can contact him at innovativewiring.com. He will ask you a few questions to ensure you get the right harness the first time. Thanks for watching!

    So I’ve got this kit getting powder coated now. Trying to decide on which 7 inch lights. Can I pick up pretty much any 7inch out there - or are there some that will/won’t work with the LC wiring?

    • @OverlandTrax
      @OverlandTrax  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congrats! Going to defer to Cruiser Grills, but pretty sure the wiring is standard for any 7" light. However, depending on your LC model there are issues with LEDs blinking and in some instances the high-beams not working correctly. For me, I have the high-beam issue and still working on fixing it..

      Purchased the same exact set up to this - including the LEDs , and I’m having a ton of issues getting the lights to cycle correctly. Did a custom harness do the trick for you?

      Thanks for watching! I ended up having a wiring harness made after trying to do it myself several times. Gary Clark @ innovativewiring.com is expensive, but great quality work; I ordered a "wiring harness for land cruiser to H7"
