The kind of music that reminds me, that mankind was meant for something much more than just work, paying bills, spending to little time with family and friends and enjoying to few holidays. People need to realise the power that they hold within themselves. Find your worth people.
So true my friend
🥺
From composer Brain Eno
He reminded us all during his last tour in 2023.
To this day I'm still mesmerised to this masterpiece. Very talented fella x
many thanks, Martin!
Beautiful piece of music! You should be proud x
Utterly superb. Someone buy that man and his backing group the biggest drink in the world.
thanks! I'm my own backing group, and I definitely needed something after performing that piece; the original is so completely gorgeous, i didn't want to screw it up!
I used to live in San Rafael...as a matter of fact...I was there when you recorded this.
Small world...huh?
Nice review..."His electric guitar sings and reverberates a holy song through which we meditate on the majesty of the major chord, the miracle of the minor chord. Jeff spends time on each set of tones, letting them ring and grow and blossom into sonic ripples on an airy sea upon which we the audience now float. When a mildly-discordant note is introduced, you can actually hear the sound waves colliding, bouncing, ricocheting off one another. In a nutshell, this is one of my favorite parts about ambient music: it gives the listener time to really listen to tones and harmonies, and wonder how curious it is that these mundane intervals, triads, and chords delight and mesmerize us so."
Robert Rich, Steve Roach, and Michael Stearns...I call that "GOOD COMPANY".
If I had known you back then...I would have suggested a visit to Lucasfilm...or at least stop by George's house. Perhaps we could have spent some time with Dennis Muren...or stop by Robin William's or maybe the "Tupelo Honey" guy...Van Morrison. All kinds of talent can be found in Marin County.
All the Metallica guys if that's in your wheelhouse...last time I was in Terra Linda...ran into James...(Hetfield)...but he was enjoying tacos with his wife and family...I left him alone.
More great tuneage Mister Jeff...don't ever stop.
thank you for the kind words- when i was in San Rafael for AMBIcon 2013, there wasn't a lot of sight-seeing going on; it was a super-busy weekend, with a lot of rehearsing and gear set-up/tear down. Fortunately, there were places around the venue to get in a quick walk or grab a bite to eat.
Music touches Me in ways that sadly only few humans can. I love youtube for bringing beauty like this to the masses instead of all the mainstream brainwash bs
Check out Tangerine dreams 1050 Pm sessions .
Mainstream is brushing the freedom of the freedom of the internet
Top guy........
Xxx
Sound........
The best rendition of Brian's Masterpiece song I have ever heard...Only Jeff could pull off something like this...etheral and deeply ambietic spirituall...great!
thank you, Tigran! I did my best- and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
THE BEST!!!
This is the only unofficial version I can listen to. Such beautiful sound, added to such an already hauntingly beautiful song. Thank you for this!
thank you so much for the kind words, Ricky! To me, this song is "sacred"- and i approached it as gently as i could, for fear of losing or distracting from it's "haunting beauty", as you put it.
I've had really rough week been feeling down listing to this was the highlight of my day
thanks, victor 003- i really appreciate the kind words. I know that there's a LOT of music, over the course of my life, that has either kept a bad day from getting worse, or turned a bad day into a bearable one. Eno's song is one of those for me.
what can i say its just magical
When a melody doesn't need words to take us deep in our souls and minds.and this is one of them.i call this true talent.
Wow I’m speechless. Never thought about this amazing piece as a live piece but there it is and beautifully done .
thanks, Paul! The piece had its challenges- mostly in keeping that wonderful sense of "space" that is so present in the original!
I'm quite a strong bloke but listening to this really does bring a tear to my eye:) such a beautiful uplifting calming piece of music:)
It doesn't matter how many times I listen to this , its absolutely amazing
thanks so much for the kind words- and for listening!
Stunning performance one of my all time favorite ambient tracks beautifully recreated love this composition so much I'm having played at my funeral no that's not morbid just a reality for people to say goodbye.
Well said.
From a life of extreme anxiety, I have relief in song like this.
Same, but it's hard to come back to this song/video after many months when this song has a special meaning for you.
Brian Eno's timeless masterpiece can reach deep into one's heart already. Some of the many cover versions do that justice , some don't.
This one here resonates emotional depths beyond the original. Hauntingly beautiful...
thank you so much, rgj rgj! One of the most difficult things about doing a cover song is just what you mentioned- "doing justice" to the spirit of the original. I certainly would NOT want to to have any cover i choose to do tarnish the beauty of the original, and if i ever thought that was the case with a cover song i was working on, i would never release it to the public! :) As you rightly stated, the original can reach deep into the heart, and that was my sole aim with my cover- I thank you again for the kind words!
Music like this certainly reaches the inner soul. Just wonderful.
Joe, thanks so much. Brian Eno's original is one that has completely reached my soul for decades, and i did my best to keep that quality in my version.
I listen to this video at least once a month and no matter what I have going on in my life, it's ALWAYS a powerful experience. This music is calming, evocative, soulful, it's everything. Thank you so much!
thanks so much, Jason!
Amazing! I love the original by Brian Eno - but how on earth does Jeff Pearce do this - just beautiful!! Thank you!
I would love to know how he uses a harmonizer (?)
This is beauty in form, in sound, in experience.
thank you for the kind words, Rx Hx!
@@jeffpearcemusic I keep coming back to this video, I know I commented way back when, it's just that good :)
reminds me of when I lost my dog when I was a child, to see him laying there in the vets before being being put down after his accident, this brings back that memory, sadness but peace to know he his in a better place, thanks for sharing this
and thank you, Phil, for sharing that story.
Just coming back once again to listen to this gorgeous cover.
I still go back to this performance, mostly for the music and performance. And also that telling myself that music is one true healing power.
Really was An Ending.
Wonderful, Wonderful Wonderful.
That was gorgeous. I've loved this piece for years and this is the first time I've heard anyone perform a live version. Bloody good job sir!
thank you, Rob KB- the original is so "perfect" in every way, i approached my cover version with great fear and trembling... 😀
This is literally the best rendition of An Ending (Ascent) created. Really great interpretation @jeffpearcemusic
I listen to this with my headphones before I go to sleep. Such an emotional, powerful yet soothing song.
I listen to this every single day,,, for some reason it reminds me of the darkest days of my life when fighting stage 2 aggressive cancer.. should be sad but I beat it and I suppose that's why i love this. Many thanks
WOW- thanks for the kind words, and congrats on beating your cancer!
I’ve been listening to this for almost a year now every time I listen to it just takes me to a different dimension it’s exactly what smoothies me so mr Jeff Pearce you’ve done one hell of a track well done
thanks, victor 003! Brian's version is a classic bit of ambient, and has soothed me for right at three decades. :) my version of his song is my way of saying "thanks. For everything."
Wow! I'm glad i found this.
What a brilliant performance. He really does justice to the original track.
thanks, Flexipop T!
This is the origin musical piece that took me down the Jeff Pearce rabbit hole. Everyone should go deeper into Jeff's music. There is alot of beautiful music there.
Dan, thanks for the kindness- I'm glad you're in the rabbit hole. 😀 I did two concerts this past weekend, and both were streamed live to TH-cam. Here's one for the Gatherings concert in Philadelphia: th-cam.com/users/liveef_iWPdHsJc?feature=share and here's for the live on air concert at radio station WXPN: th-cam.com/users/liveeDTeugs7W1g?feature=share
@jeffpearcemusic thanks Jeff, I did see both of those newest concerts in your feed and I'm saving them to listen to when I can enjoy their full run time. Do you ever make it out to the west coast ( besides Ambicon 2013)??
@@danhoeshen3417 at the moment, there's no plans or offers to play from the west coast- and shipping the amount of gear I need for a show would be a challenge!
I’ve always popped along to this video over the years, recently I lost my girlfriend to a horrible illness at the age of 31. We were together since we were 18. This piece of beautiful music brings back so many memories. I love you Lisa and I miss you so much . Sweet dreams. x
i'm sorry man
Irufushi stay strong man 🙏🏻👊🏻
One of my favorite pieces. Thanks so much, Jeff. Beautiful
So beautiful and calming.
thanks so much! The original is a perfect piece of music, for that very reason- it's beautiful and calming! 🙂
@@jeffpearcemusic and you did it justice.
Been listening to this piece for a few years now, makes me smile, cry and dream. What a stunning piece of work. 10/10 from Jeff. Best wishes from England mate 👍🏻
thanks so much- and best wishes from the States, Ian!
Jeff, that was the BEST version of eno's masterpeice.....definitely the best...
you're too kind, david david- thank you so much! The "difficult" part was taken care of for me ahead of time; Brian Eno pulled all those magical notes out of the air and shared the song with the world. My challenge was to NOT distract from the beauty of the song
Simply perfect! No words to describe my mood now. Thank you.
thanks, Samuel TheSoundShaper!
jeffpearcemusic I also play ambient. ... check out for The NiMF on Soundcloud. Need a producer!!!
Is really amazing. Very beautiful. this song is legendary.
thank you! The original is so incredible- it cannot be topped. So my approach was more along the lines of being respectful of the original, and that is where my arrangement came from.
Haunting, Calm, Relaxing and absolutely beautiful. What a masterpiece with so much feeling and serenity. Beautiful, Wonderful, Amazing.
I love An Ending by Eno but thought "this could never be performed live"
You, sir, have shown me I was wrong, and I am glad. Great work!
to be completely honest, Jimmi, >I< wasn't even sure it could be performed live. :) So i just focused on what i heard as "the beauty" of the song, and did my best to arrange my parts around that. Thank you for the kind words!
🥲 This is so wonderful and touching. 😍 I absolutely love this piece. Amazing performance. ❤
thanks, syntaction! I did my best to honor the deep emotion that is found in Brian Eno's beautiful song.
Absolutely breathtaking!
thank you, Candice! Eno's original is one of the "high points" for me as a life long music listener, and i tried to put just how much i loved that song into my arrangement.
Great job Jeff! Amazing how you catch the celestial beauty of the original version, while giving it a very human face in the way you play
the guitar... Hope to see you somewhere one day.
thanks EmileDelorean!
I’m speechless. This is beyond beauty. I wish I could have heard this in person - but also thankful I didn’t. Everyone would have saw me crying like a baby in public. Such beauty cannot be contained. 🥺
thanks for the kind words about the music- the AMBIcon event was one of those events where everything was done "right"- and the "most right" thing was the sound system and crew; every act that weekend sounded incredible. There were many "tears of joy" that weekend, by both audience and musicians.
The Best cover of this song thank you thank you
This can never leave the internet
the music of the soul exiting the body..
Watched this over and over. Great really f*cking great job (y)
thanks, Freek! I approached this song with great "fear and trembling", :) since it's a classic from Eno.
hehe, I could imagine that! :D
that s beautiful... Love the original, love this one.
+ Jeff Pearce As a lifelong drummer, with what has been called a "drummer's ear", I have to say, this is spectacular. I have always admired guitarists who have skill and know how to manipulate their effects. This piece of music by Eno is brilliant enough, but what an effort by you to present it. Well done, sir.
thank you, Patrick. I had to smile at your "drummer's ear" comment- because I started my musical life as a drummer! So no downplaying your drummer's ear- it is a powerful thing! :)
If there is a heaven I want it to have this sound.
in the end, there is no higher compliment than this- thank you, Shane!
@@jeffpearcemusic No, thank you sir for sharing this video. Peace love and happiness to you.
TheraP2014 I want this music to carry my soul to the great beyond when I make my transition into the Light and may the music last for eternity. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jeff.
what a kind sentiment, TheraP2015- thank you!
You took me to the place I wanted to be. Wonderful, thanks. Peace.
Absolutely stunning! A haunting sound almost like Whale song that melds perfectly with the orchestral chords. Kinda wish this version had been the ending to the film 28 days later now.
absolutely phenomenal
thank you so much, fintan1471!
This defines life!
thank you so much for the kind words!
This is a stunning cover of a masterpiece. I wish I could download this version.
Amazing talent,great job!!!
thanks, jess1990cat!
Man, this is gorgeous! I can so totally hear this with a theremin on the main line... goosebump inducing that is for sure!!
I like the way you think. Do you have a theremin???
Absolutely beautiful Jeff...Your version is by far the best cover of this track that I have heard...Well done indeed...Inspirational on so many levels
An epic cover to an epic tune. Great job!
thanks, kieran mcdonnell! I very rarely play covers in concert, but considering the event (AMBIcon 2013), I thought it would be appropriate!
This cover is truly the most beautiful cover I’ve ever heard, your cover has helped me so much with my suicidalness and mental health... To me your cover just takes me straight to heaven and fills me with pure love 💜 if heaven exists I hope this is played on a loop there as I could never get bored of listening to it... thank you for creating such a beautiful cover Jeff 💜x
thanks so much for your kind words, Kez! Music can be such a sanctuary in a hectic world, and i know that Brian Eno's original of this song was one of the few songs that provided "transcendence" in my teen years.
Adore your music jeff. Please please come to the uk
Beautiful interpretation.
So relaxing
Gave me shivers down my spine great performance
Eyes closed, lie back, forget your troubles.....peaceful is an understatement
thanks so much, smudgersmith1968! There are so many (really great!) songs that get people fired up and energized. But I've always taken the opposite approach with my music; it's the greatest of compliments when someone wants to relax, or even sleep, to my music!
Awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Awesome
thank you, Daz De Gamer! :)
I just learned about this piece very recently from Eno. You did this cover justice! Thank you!
thanks for the kind words, R.E.D.! I did my best with that song- I hope that, if Eno ever hears it, he will listen with "forgiving ears". :)
jeffpearcemusic You're most welcome! He probably will.
Awesome ambient guitar. I just discovered your music along with Robin Guthrie. You guys are two of my favorites now. I am very impressed by the sound you are getting with minimal gear. I just started writing ambient guitar music about a year and a half ago. This is very inspiring to me.
thanks, Greg! Sometimes, you can actually get more sounds (and more USEABLE sounds) by focusing on just a few pieces of gear- at least that's been my experience. Good luck with your own music!
Beautiful stuff . . . I listen to this regularly since first hearing it a few months ago.
Thanks for posting this, Jeff. May you be healthy and happy!
Thankyou for this Jeff - it's just magical.
great version of one of my top 10 tunes - respectfully done
thanks, Murdo!
Just beautiful, Jeff ! Wrapping music...
i appreciate your kind words!
Just stumbled upon this, it's absolutely transfixing. The original is still one of the finest pieces of music ever made, but this ambient, shoegaze-ish guitar approach to it is utterly stunning. Reminds me of the likes of Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. Outstanding work.
This is superb, its even more relaxing than the original, definitely get my vote
thank you for your comments, Richard!
What a bautiful music, that makes me dreamer
Excellent.
thanks so much, Mike- I appreciate the kindness!
Sometimes it is so hard to find the correct words for telling your feelings. So i can not. Thanks a lot for this speacial cover. Many greetings form Turkey. Emre
All I can say is that it is fabulous
if I was in that audience Id be crying, how do you sit there and not cry? lol. amazing!
thanks for your kind words! The original- Eno's version- has frequently moved me to tears.
This track have a healing power,i guess. So considerate ,gentle well- done cover.Wish could have been there.
thank you for your kind words, Samira! The original version of this song is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard!
Incredible piece of music, so powerful.
Beautiful!
ITS A WOW MOMENT IN TIME>. THANK YOU
love this.
Amazing!!
it really does a great tribute.
Awesome sound, i listen all mornig relax moment
Breathtaking.... 🙏
thank you!
Really awesome. Thank you.
thanks so much!
love it !
Awesome mate just awesome wow so close to the real thing v impressed
Thanks, Gary Lamberton! You can watch the whole concert at this link: AMBIcon 2013: JEFF PEARCE Full Concert (Production Video) Regarding the Eno piece: anytime one musician covers another musician's song, things get tricky very quickly. :) You can either play it TOO safe, or change the song so much that it is unrecognizable. My hope is, that even to the ears of those who do not enjoy my version of this gorgeous song, they will be able to hear that care was taken.
this is brilliant, never heard of you jeff, but would love to see you live.when you touring lad.
definitely a hidden gem.
thanks for the kind words, Lesley Cooney! At the moment, I'm not touring- i will be playing a show in Philadelphia in October. You can find more info at www.thegatherings.org
this is amazing. thanks for posting!
thanks for listening/watching, Carter!
Beautiful
thanks, Michael!
Good stuff! I downloaded the full video from Stephen's page and have watched it many times. I had plans to go to AMBIcon last year with a friend but it did not happen. Maybe next time!
Thanks, Ron! The concert was great fun, and I hope there will be many more AMBIcon's in the coming years.
Amazing peace of work beautifully done :-)
Thank you, zander ortiz!
Wow!
So uplifting !
