Watanabe/Higashino tandem are fun to watch, congrats Japan
surprised to see the French pair to put up such challenge. It would be interesting to see if the French girl play more aggresively at the net. looking forward to their upcming matches
Coach: I want you to score 64 points.
Yuta: That's impossible!
Coach: Is it?
After competing so well in game #1 (including recovering from failing on two game points), it was disappointing to see the French pair lose the 2nd and 3rd so easily -- somehow, from somewhere, European pairs need to find (or develop) more competitive toughness -- also, Delrue's serve must improve; in a recent match, 3 of the first 4 points to the opposing pair were due to service errors by the French pair, with Delrue serving into the net 2x -- you cannot give away easy points like that against the top Asian pairs
It's the same today with 🇩🇰 Christiansen/Bøje against 🇨🇳 Zheng/Huang. Played very very well and won the 1st game but somehow when the Chinese goes up a notch in 2nd & 3rd game they struggles a bit and stumble. Now I feel like they're all getting way better and played a very good game IMO, but just need to maintain the consistency and emotions especially when the points difference getting bigger against them.
Oh and speaking of XD, I really didn't expect the 🇳🇱 Tabeling/Piek to play really really well against 🇯🇵 Watanabe/Higashino at R16. M like, man they are really really good, they play really really close all the way to the 3rd game. I think these 3 Europeans XD are to watch for in the near future. They're good players, capable of playing really well and are fun to watch for when they are competitive against the top Asians players.
PS. I haven't seen the XD Europeans champions 🇩🇪 Lamsfuss/Lohau played against the top Asians recently so I don't have an opinion of them, but I heard they're good as well.
Saya masih berharap akan ada perlawanan yang kuat dari daratan Eropa
oh my, the japan pair defense is incredible and Watanabe smashes were so powerful
jump smashes it is
Очень ровная игра
What is watanabe racket?
雅思突然出现
Higashino is a completely untalented woman who would have been benched by their coaches if it weren't for Watanabe's abilities. The French pair believed they could defeat Watanabe (excluding Higashino) in the first game, but he just switched to second or third gear and they were unable to keep up.
Higashino is talented but she makes far too many mistakes. I do believe that if higashino improved her skills by even 5 percent (defence and not making mistakes at the net play) then they would be number 1 due to how massively talented watanabe happens to be. I do agree though that at playing at this level of competition, the number of mistakes higashino makes is disgraceful.
I have watched Yuta Watanabe since 2017 & still be amazed by his unbelievable movement. The dropshot, the backhand, the way he always find spaces to win...🇯🇵🏸🥇👏🏻
His jump smash/drop shot is the best if not one of the best all time
