Thanks for acknowledging that the Venom they were going for wasn't all that tall, and definitely not the hulking monster he was portrayed as later on. I don't get the complaints. I'm sure he could have been a tad taller, but not much. As is, he scales well with the other member of his own line, and that's what matters. I personally like my symbiotes looking like monsters, so I'm still going with the Revoltech. But I'm just puzzled by the people clamoring for a classic comic book Venom, only to get upset over it not being a gigantic monster. You can't expect a company to defy it's own internal scaling in order for people to fit it with a bunch of larger 20 dollar figures that are sold in another country.
I'm not looking for a massive venom but I'd like him to be taller. Eddie Brock should be 6'3" and Peter Parker is 5'10" . So not huge but definitely bigger then what we get here.

Venom was bigger than that in Amazing Spider-Man #299- and on. Todd drew him to be much bigger than Spidey, and Eddie/ Venom was never a "normal sized guy". This body would be more appropriate for Kraven when he donned the black costume in 'Kraven's Last Hunt'.

The figure isn't as short as some photos make it out to be, but for me if this Venom was as tall as ML Bucky Cap (or even the ML Spider-UK figure) this would be the perfect/definitive Venom figure. I have always envisioned/seen Classic McFarlane/early Bagley Venom drawn half-a-head/a full head taller than Spider-Man. Regardless, I agree with you that this Venom figure is great and can't wait if MAFEX makes more Spider-Man villains/supporting characters (imagine a MAFEX Classic Black Cat)!
I got that Venom figure for my birthday not too long ago, just last Wednesday. The right arm just was super tight, and I could hardly rotate his arm without getting a workout from doing that. And before you know it, his arm snapped off! Which sucks, because I loved the figure so far! I sure wish I could get a new one! Because, in all honesty, this is the best Venom figure I have ever seen. It replaces all Venom figures in my opinion. Mostly because the Venom figures I’ve had were either too big, too buff, or too monstrous looking. Not to mention that that overly long tongue. Which just doesn’t look good on any Venom figure, in my opinion. Anyway, this was a huge bummer, and I hope I can get a new one, soon. They really need to cool it on the tight joints!

They should do an accessory pack for their Venom and comic Spider-Man. Spidey could get some new heads with different lens styles, like the Ditko and McFarlane style eyes and a half masked head. And Venom could get some of his 90's head sculpts with the tung and a mid transformation head.

I was! I didn't mention it becuase I thought I had a good solution. I would remove the head at the neck and squeeze the neck part to hold the peg in place to remove the head but then that stopped working. Was your problem that the peg would stay in the head and not the neck?

If I squeeze the neck and pull at the head the peg comes right out of then neck joint and stays in the head. So basically the joint will stay with the head which is then super difficult to remove without heat. Has me picking one head and staying with it really its too much of a hassle.
The most reasonable Venom figure size, in comparison to Spider-Man, is the Absorbing Man BAF Wave model. Venom has NEVER been depicted in his early years as being any smaller than that. EVER. I think if you take the Mafex Venom and put it next to the 2016 Space Venom BAF Ultimate Spider-Man then the size difference is evened out.
I know there is no such thing as a perfect figure, but Mafex really put the standard with the comic version Spidey. Maybe this Venom could have topped it with a licking face or tongue accessory

Rather see a Mafex classic Tarantula and classic Scorpion before another Kraven. Prowler has always been a C-D level villain in the Spidey rogues gallery imo.
Mafex scale is not meant to scale accurately with Hasbro ML line whose 6.5 scale represents a 6 footer while Mafex scales to a true 1/12 , 6 inch scale.
You can do the split. You just need to pose it similiar to Kayiodo Carnage. Just bring the leg up front and then twist the tie rotation until you postition it to a split pose. Sure - its not the best engeenering, but at least it is dooable. Such a shame they designed it this way thou. Its the only nit-pick i have against this guy. But i still love him.
I hope you know (Unparalleled Universe) that the classic venom that Mafex was trying to do didn't actually have a tongue at the time... I just found this interesting.

you can get some shock oil and they usually have a thing applicator so you can get into tight spots

Were you having a hard time swapping the heads? That is really my one complaint on this guy.. the heads are so hard to swap!
