Great job. My mum had a 1275GT mini in that colour many years back. Used to pop out of second gear and had a fair bit of rust in the floors! Loved it all the same.
Lovely mini, love the colour, love the wheels, love the detailing, love the restoration, I took my driving test on one of these, it was purple, always had a soft spot for the mini clubman, super job again Martin, don’t worry, you’re not the only one having trouble with doors and chipped paint lol, you’ll see in my Christmas video🤦🏻♂🤔 All the best, Nick🐸🐸
Thanks nick ,yeah I seem to have a problem with chipping especially the doors I probably need to leave it longer to harden off . I passed my test in a mk2 cortina. All the best Martin
What a transformation Martin! The wheels are magic love the detailing. All the very best to you. Wishing you and Mrs D and the family a great Christmas and a New Years. Thank you for producing this channel and giving all the watchers a great insight into restoring our childhood memories. I hope that there are many more to come in 2024. Again Martin all the very best to you. Chris 🍻👍🏻🇦🇺🎄🏆🏏
A cracking resto of this Dinky Clubman Martin love the new colour and new wheels great grille and interoir detail have a Merry Christmas and great New Year in 2024
Hi mate great job and a great little car, those wheels are perfect they look like minilites they even have tread on the tyres. Yes we were out today buying a few Christmas goodies and as per usual I was Mr pack horse and chauffeur for the day. 😎She always says that when I go shopping with her she ends up spending twice as much.😂😂 That'll learn her.🤣🤣😆😆Catch you on the next one mate.👍🏻
love the colour, looks great on these shoeboxes. :) also the wheels look great, too. :) former boss used to have a 65 Mini, rebuilt it for his wife, but she wasn't fond of the car's dimensions, so eventually we dragged it out of it's hiding spot and made it ready to run again to be resold. so I got to drive it (I think it was a 1litre? maybe the 850ccm, don't remember) for a test drive around the city to see if anything is wrong still. it wasn't, so I had a lot of fun with this thing. :) it sold fast, but first thing the new owner did was to blow the head gasket... seems the thing didn't agte well.
Cheers Lothar, it was a shame she didn't like the little mini ,mine was an early 850 cc I loved driving it held the road like a go kart . All the best Martin 👍
Thanks Neil, yes the wheels set it up nicely, I never had a Clubman mine was a standard 850 with slide windows and a wire door handle . All the best Martin
Excellent resto Martin as always But I'm sorry I'm going to barrack for the home side "Go Australia" 😁..... All the very best to you and your family during the Christmas season Martin and will look forward to all the new videos in the New Year 🎅🌲All the very best from the land down under ...... cheers Greg👍
Cheers Greg ,I will let it slide this time 🤣🤣 you have to support your country, glad you liked it ,and all the best to you and your family and enjoy your Christmas 🎄
A great choice of rims & wheel combination & orange paint on the mini 👍, good advice on the preparation for paint too Martin, nice little diecast to restore, always enjoy watching your end results Martin, simply amazing. Take care ole friend 👋😎🚗🚒🚙
Looks like an excellent restoration to me. I like the detail work on it and it’s so good it feels like I climb in and drive away. Hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
Had a real one of these. Did mine as close to it as poss. Superb job on yours as always. That was my one downside on the wheels. Accepted them as I didn't know. What to replace them with
Cheers Ian, yes the wheels definitely needed to be changed these were of a cheap pull back toy . I always buy them when I see them . All the best Martin
Yes a can imagine decals would be a hard job maybe if you are or know somone good with computer graphics that might be a way . This maybe of interest . in and news letter from corgi the is a mini 1275 gt and the price they want for it is a big prie 1:43 . £35 @@martindaredare
Loved the 'Keep Fit' reference on the door handles, Martin! What did the wheels come off? They looked like some suitable cheapie that has been robbed for better purposes: they look great on the Clubman. And Blaze is a correct colour for the Clubman - I remember driving them! And 1300GTs. The finishing detail really made the model - again - Mr Dare: you are The Detailmeister!
Very nice job and the extra detailing (+ the wheels) really makes it look so much better. I've never seen or even heard of this model in any other colour than bronze metallic, so at first I thought it was a repaint, but now I'm not so sure... what do you think, having looked at it close-up and actually handled the paint? I noticed you said the paint was hard to get off, so that could hint at an unusual paint type? The doors on this model, as well as the Escort you also did, are really poorly designed and are bad fits even in early production, getting increasingly poor as the dies wear out of course. I have a very early version of this model, the one with the jeweled headlights, with hardly any wear at all, but yet the doors are awful (and the same goes for my Escort btw.)
Thanks very much, my friend. They did do this casting as a police version as well, and the colour on this one was the original colour And not a repaint .the door on these later dinkys were poor that's for shore 👍
Great restoration. The wheels look fantastic.
Wishing yourself and your good lady a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024🎉
Thanks Rob, you have a great Christmas aswell my friend

Great job. My mum had a 1275GT mini in that colour many years back. Used to pop out of second gear and had a fair bit of rust in the floors! Loved it all the same.
