Every interview with Coach Glassman renews my love and dedication and belief in CrossFit. Thanks guys!!! Another kick ass episode! Now just waiting to see OG Fire Breather next!?!
I'm grateful to be one of the many people who have lost 100 pounds since joining CrossFit. It isn't just the pounds, or the biomarkers (resting heartbeat down over 20 bmp, triglycerides dropped from over 200 to just 50, etc.) It's a whole new life. A world which seemed very small for me is now wide open. There is a joie de vivre in our lives that was missing before. Thank you, Coach Glassman, and everyone else at CrossFit who works tirelessly to improve the lives of others.
I'm in the best shape of my life since starting crossfit back in early 2017. I am pretty much a force of nature nowadays. A lot of people have lots of things to say about coach Glassman, but as for me, I have my life back, and for that I will be eternally grateful. The cool thing? Anybody can do what I have done. The hardest part is walking through that door for the first time.
Very glad they brought the MDL1 back as a new course again, even to include all "medical/health professionals". Seemed like the right idea to do back then, seems like an even better thing to do now.
As a Physiotherapist having witnessed decades of medical cheerleading, the key message that I hear in this podcast is “ownership”. Physical autonomy (self care/self efficacy) is an important issue yet ultimately means you are NOT dependent on mothership ACSM/NCSA, NHS or other corporate bodies. Licensure ensures a revenue stream and that includes doing a CFL1 and paying an affiliate fee. Whilst the message is blunt and challenging, if this podcast offends you then I would suggest a quick self-check. You don’t need to be a CF trainer to teach deadlifts (shopping bags off the floor), squats (toilet on/off) and press over head (object onto shelf). But...and here’s the rub...bias & chance are always at play before we arrive at a truth. What would be fantastic is collaborative work between CF and academic colleagues to construct longitudinal studies to convert anecdotes into meaningful published data :: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/62529/TLA-1906126.pdf
With all the recent firings at HQ, 1:22:20 was a foretelling of where Greg wants to take Crossfit. Future is growing the boxes not the road to Games. "I'm not there for the thruster races"
Very interesting, I've started crossfit two months ago and I'm hooked. For next interview I would like to know about crossfit long term effect on diseases like Crohn. Thanks!
I would love crossfit to interview Dr Timothy Noakes or the producer and the guys behind "the magic pill" documentary. Timothy Noakes is featured in the documentary and the premise of the documentary is Gregs nutrition mantra. It's a very good eye opening look at nutrition and it's role in health care.
Example of the mess: you go to a doctor for circulation, internal medicine, blood pressure, gynecologist and they give you a paper quiz for sleep apnea, send you to another physician, do a sleep study and diagnose the patient. Then they have to purchase a sleep apnea machine. How many people are using these machine and are actually told to exercise?
Just started Crossfit. I hope I can have a body like Gregg Glassman someday, dude is ripped. That six pack he has must come from that big ass soda he's drinking.
loved everything about this but not a fan of how he's super critical of licensure and organizations "taking a cut" but thats pretty much what crossfit is. i.e. affiliate fees
Einstein sent others to capture the photos he needed during a total solar eclipse; his theories were tested out in a practical sense by his motivated followers. p= fxd/t has prompted a lot of people to test out Glassman’s theories across the globe and sho nuff...the value of the concept has been proven, repeatedly. Should Glassman’s physical appearance reflect his credibility? That’s one for the whole community to decide. Obese dietitians? Medics who smoke? Vegetarians who meat when in Kenya on holiday? Yup - seen all these but...the Straw Man is easy to burn; the provocation this talk prompts and the call to arms is, IMHO, the really important message 👍
It's a fair point. Yes he has a tea so little/no sugar there. But agreed, it's hard to callout Coke so much when most Starbucks drinks and food are not exactly low sugar.... That said Starbucks isn't funding / silencing health research. Pick your battles I suppose.
You can ultimately tell when IT WAS, ALWAYS FROM THE START, ABOUT MONEY. WHY? Just listen to the caviler, glib attitude and obvious lack of any physical condition in this man, just like his peers before him. In the true capitalist nature of the American fitness industry this man is a giant among his peers, all hail WEIDER, JONES, HOFFMAN and GLASSMAN. All have the same business model.Never lead by example, preached a fake gospel and treat both customer and doubters with contempt on your way to the bank.
Started my box when I was 16, just paid my 9th year dues. Thanks for everything Coach.
wow thats crazy man congrats

Back when CrossFit had integrity and meant something.

I would be very interested to hear what he thinks about the vaccine industry. For next time. :) Great interview!
If people were art, this man would be a master piece!
an orthopedic surgeon got me to try crossfit. he did crossfit with his buddies at a ymca outside of affiliates, so they are in the wild for sure

Please open an office in Portland!
Greg Glassman is a fucking savage. Love it.
48:45 Greg on physical therapy and functional screens
BRAVO

So this is the man that pioneered this terrible way to train
Finally!!!!
is it just me, or does his Starbucks cup say Tyson? I hope Tyson is fetching "coffee" for Coach Glassman

solera2008 not by the looks of it 🤔
If I’ve heard right he’s had some serious back injuries from gymnastics.
Einstein did not go to space.

When the founder of CrossFit is drinking Starbucks 😂...
It's tea so chill. Now if it was a caramel frap then roast him. lol
It is a little disappointing
DAVID QUINONES ‘roast him’
Nice...lol

He's been pretty transparent that he's going after Coke because of the collusion and corruption and not the unhealthy product.
🙋🙋🙋 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
2 Kingdoms - good vs. evil, Jesus vs. Satan. Choose correctly.

CEO casually dismisses Advocare. Doesn't give two shits that the most well known crossfitter is sponsored by the brand. Nice.
