    Gregg is as misunderstood as Jordan Peterson
    He is incredibly bright; all inclusive, generous and selfless
    He was treated appalling by sheep not thinking their responses through to his throw away comment
    Poor Gregg took the 100 million and deserves every penny
    Ill follow him to his next venture happily

    It was such a fantastic interview with an iconic figure, Mr Greg Glassman,
    I want to add something about the question about the form of the cleans and snatches when you are doing them on a high-rep.
    When introduced to Crossfit, your body becomes weak to concentrate and execute technical movements in high reps and under fatigue. But it's a temporal status until you and your body get used to this status with time, and soon you will see the mind and body of the athlete get used to executing high volume with good technique.
    In my personal case, I see myself getting better and more efficient technically under fatigue as you are moving light-medium weights doing the cleans, snatches, thrusters, etc.
    On the other hand, not all Crossfit workouts are pure fast sprints; several modalities need to be strategized differently; a fortime can't be executed the same way you are doing an Amrap 20 minutes.

He also supports the science of metabolic disease and prevention through High Intensity Training and diet. He’s one of the best, no matter what other people say ❤️ peace!!

    First did crossfit all the way back in 2004. I was playing ball in JUCO. Friend of mine came back from IRAQ and came to the gym with me. He set a timer for 20 mins and just started busting out rabid like pull ups dips and squats. I said wtf are you doing man. He said this is crossfit we do it on tour in iraq. I said you do this in iraq, where do i sign up? lol This was before the soccer moms got to it. Like wmost things when they go public - they get a little basterdized and out of control. Great interview! While I don't do crossfit like that anymore - I still do the crossfit warmup before most training sessions to this day!

    • @KB-cw3dw
      @KB-cw3dw ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is he didn’t really address the question. They asked about the average 9-5ers coming in and doing snatches or other complex movements at high reps as fast as possible. Those are the ones that make it look stupid and getting hurt. He responds with A- movement/A+ times? Those people are producing F movements. How about slow down, take some time to drill these movements and become proficient at them if they are required to participate in CrossFit. The average box doesn’t emphasize this, and just encourages the average gym goers to practice the movements mid workout.

      You know there are tons of CrossFit Journal articles about all that that he and others wrote… this always was CrossFit. What I still don‘t get is how people talk trash all the time without knowing all of this. Like, how is it possible to not know those things. It‘s the base of CrossFit.

    • @advancingsecurity
      @advancingsecurity ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThomasEichholzer-bl6ws well bad news travels fast. I have never done CrossFit but everyone I knew that did was always injured. Their back, knees etc. I only knew one guy that was hurt. I used to be a MMA coach in NYC we did take some elements from it so I knew some people that were trainers too. Personally I think there were too many unqualified coaches training people. As far as the literature and articles I prefer podcasts. I only read particular subjects. Based on what I have heard once the founder left they lost their North Star and fired their marketing team and the games suffered for it.

    • @ThomasEichholzer-bl6ws
      @ThomasEichholzer-bl6ws ปีที่แล้ว

      @@advancingsecurity CrossFit used to have this huge article library, and regularly recommended reading. The library still exists, open acces, all free, but unfortunately hidden to the unknown. The L1, the course and examen every teacher has to pass before coaching at an affiliate, covers many foundamental articles, again the pdf is available for free online. I think CrossFit has so much to offer, it‘s sad to see bad comments over and over again. PS I did Martial arts for a long time, never seen so many injured people like in tricking, yet tricking, parcour, ninja warrior etc get hyped, and CF gets called dangerous, the injury rate is much lower in CF, anectotally and scientifically, but also logically.

Circuit training has been around for decades and used for training sports that needed power and endurance such as ROWING etc, and the Military as part of their induction fitness, 2. comparing Recognized sports and athletes which are disciplined to a group of individuals that could not win a recognised medal or sport is just ludicrous, you may as well compare Table tennis to Rugby and ask why is one person fitter than the other. CrossFit was people making money out of training and used the Circuit training formula but used absolute stupid exercises to look cool, the "world games of CrossFit" is just whacky and stupid and anyone competing should be as embarrassed competing as the people watching.

    Crossfit is NOT training. Crossfit is exercise. It makes you hot, sweaty and tired. It does NOT build work capacity or strenth. TRAINING builds work capacity and strength. When you see a Crossfit competition, that is a showcase of that individuals training and work capacity in multiple disciplines. When you see elite games athletes they didn't get to that level by doing WODS😂. They got to that level by programmed, disciplined training protocols. In swimming, weightlifting, running ect. With top level coaches in each respective discipline. Don't let Greg's bs fool you. Greg's ignorance is astonishing. Good for him though for selling his bs to idiots and making millions.
