    I'm gonna chew on that idea on how you did the lower door for my 58 conversion. one big gap just staring me down for several months now. I do still have to remove my section one more time, to get a bit more alignment, but may just do this instead of one long weld.

    I have a near perfect 4 door that I will be converting into a 2 door. Lovette is the best body builder on the net, or off for that matter, and I have viewed many. His step by step approach is second to none. If I lived closer to his shop, I would have to have him handle this for me. As soon as my back surgery gets better, the chopping will begin.

    I believe I commented last week on how something you did made perfect sense and I'm going to use those same words this week. I wasn't getting why you cut the two pieces at an angle. Once again, you explained it, and yes, it made perfect sense. I agree, the panel will hold that curved form much better at an angle rather than going straight across. Love this project! Great work! Can't wait till next time.

    Another informative video. I was wondering how the outer b pillar fits over the b pillar. I thought it would have to be cut thinner to get the outer part close enough to the front door. Can't wait to try these techniques on my 57.

    • @LovettSpeedShop
      @LovettSpeedShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically the outer post is cut to a skin. Then you cut the knot down that’s on the post about 1/8 inch to let the post skin go in flush with the door and this also gets your door gap. Then weld it up. Thanks for the support.

    Nice, this is the 2nd 2 door conversion I have seen (other DD Speed Shop). I never knew this was possible, thought a 4 door was a longer wheelbase or something.

    • @LovettSpeedShop
      @LovettSpeedShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The wheel base's are the same.Also on a 4door sedan and a 2door sedan the tops are the same. So 2door sedan doors will hang on a 4door to be able to move the post back. Or 4door sedan doors can be added to in length to make them the same as a 2door. Thanks for the support.

    Bad ass as always. I appreciate the detail you are going into, making this one of the best conversion videos out there. And, thanks for the tip on the 1/4 inch gap at the rear door skin. I hadn't anticipated that. If my rear door skins are rust free...suggestions on how to fill that gap? Maybe a weld a small flange off of the rocker before the skin goes on?

    • @LovettSpeedShop
      @LovettSpeedShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely your very welcome I’m trying my best on explaining the way I’m doing it. Of course it trial by error but.. for you question I tried to put a piece in at the bottom on drivers side and didn’t have any luck. I may recommend put a small piece in at the bottom to fill the gab maybe not as high as I cut but may couple inches or so. Also small flange might work too. Hope this helps. Thanks for the support.

    Good evening I had a question when people do conversion from 4 door to 2 door how does that go with the title do you keep the title as the car being a 4-door or do you change it over to a 2 door just kind of curious on that how that would work. it being a collector car I'm wondering if it even matters I was just curious?

    Although I haven't watched the last one (I will) I am going to myself, if it works on a chevy then it should work on a ford just as well. I look at how popular the shoe box is but my heart was on all the 56 and 57 fairlane tudors. Oh I like hardtops don't get me wrong, but so few of and sedans are more forgiving I think when it comes to retrofitting a quarter post in. "B" pillars out of the two door donors would really be nice to use as well as the jam is built already. Are all the people who love fords ashamed of it, think its gay or just what... you don't see any channels that (a few) are ford only like many chevy channels or the mopar or no car group. I'm old enough to have been raised by people who didn't trust cars or trucks, tractors and such. Born in 47 but parents were born in the teens calendar years. We had a horse for all means of travel on short distances and to be truthful, not much fun getting on a horse when the wind is blowing hard from the north... pants sticking to the leather and fingers so cold that taking a leak was impossible for me to get done. Just about the same discomfort as being a prisoner of war in nam. Have you tried to do a ford?

    Un carro es mejor con 4 puertas subes al carro mas cómodo de 2 puertas es incómodo porque tiene que salir del carro para que otra persona se siente atrás es lo mas incómodo que puede haber cuando el carro es de 2 puertas
