INSANE Wanton Noodles Eating Record! 13 Plates of Wanton Noodles Eaten! | Singapore Street Food!

- For this video, I headed down to Ah Hwa Roasted Noodle House to do a Dumpling Noodles Challenge! Ah Hwa Roasted Noodle House is a family-owned restaurant located at Bukit Batok that specialises in Wanton/Dumpling Noodles.
Wanton/Dumpling Noodles is a Cantonese dish that has become widespread throughout Southeast Asia, comprising of thin egg noodles tossed in a light sauce and served with wantons (dumplings), leafy greens and char siu. The addition of char siu is unique to the Southeast Asian variants of the dish. My version was served dry with soup on the side, but can be ordered as a bowl of soupy Dumpling Noodles.
At a very affordable cost of $4 per plate of Wanton/Dumpling Noodles, each plate was loaded with fried and boiled dumplings, a generous amount of char siu, bok choy and a nest of noodles coated in a dark and glistening sauce. The noodles were arguably the best part, al-dente, light and springy, and the mixture used in the sauce complemented it wonderfully with a savoury and slightly spicy flavour. I could taste sesame oil and soy sauce used in the sauce, but the owners refused to elaborate on the sauce mixture.
The dumplings were plump and had a good filling-wrapper ratio. Inside, there were chopped up prawns and bits of pork, together with some crunch, possibly in the form of chestnuts. The char siu were plentiful, but they were slightly too sweet and chewy for my taste.
I managed to complete 13 plates of Wanton Noodles at just about 30 minutes and finally did a before-and-after weighing for my challenge, gaining 5kg (66kg to 71kg). It was enjoyable, cheap food and I am pleased to support a family-owned Singaporean business in these trying times.

The food here is above average tier.
I have tried all the food here as I stay very very near.
Prawn noodle - Everything is good, except their lean pork slices (Very hard) (85/100)
Wanton noodle - One of the best soya sauce chicken & wanton noodles (Put some pork lard inside and ask more DARK SOYA SAUCE! This will change your perspective!!) (90/100)
Fish soup - Clear + healthy fish soup, taste ok. (Try their bittergroud fish soup) (75/100)
Western - Cheap and a lot of selection. Taste good too, try their monster beef burger!! (80/100)
Would not recommend Indian, mixed vege and zi char here though. So so (55/100)
Man. Seems like i really need to try that prawn noodle soon haha

I LOVE THEIR WANTON MEE!!! Very savoury and very springy!! Their wanton is very big with a lot of meat fillings and it’s very fresh! The meat is Super tender and the charsiew is so good (more on the sweet side) WOULD 10/10 recommend this!!! My whole family would travel just to eat this

Hi Zermatt, I saw the owner (mother) here at Sun Breeze, Sembawang at Kimly Coffeeshop. Here, Ah Hwa has a new outlet selling roasted meats and wonton noodles. I've been eating that for many Mondays now and enjoyed the meaty dumplings! A surprise this morning was FREE pork lardons... 😂

Now you're getting nearer to where I lived. Block 243 about 30 years ago. My first gym at BB EAST COMMUNITY CLUB. As usual Bukit Batok East food for me is my best! we see the weighing after that's part of the process. Head straight to Bukit Batok East community centre gym across the road for a quick 2hr workout. I noticed you were staying away from the soup. 13 bowls of soup easily 1 more kg!

I myself recommend wanton noodles (Chef's Kang Noodle House) at this Jackson Square canteen at Toa Payoh....eat once will get addicted but this can be eaten once a month (myself la) because 1 plate alone is $6. Another thing I like this is wanton is quite big and noodles itself left alone for more than 3 to 5 hours, it still good.

There's one wanton noodle stall at Jurong East Block 132 (Happy Hawkers) and their noodles are seriously da bomb! You have got to try it! Owner is an elderly lady with some feisty attitude though XD

Couldn't find the info on their operating hours, anyone got any info on this? Always love wanton mee, so far my fav is still 黑辣 version from Eng kee noodle house at bukit batok west Ave 8 blk 155. Their fried dumplings and wantons is very delicious.

@@ZermattNeo I recommend Ruyi Yuan at Redhill, its in a Kopitam opposite of redhill market. Its not easy to eat all the ingredients from vegetarian beehoon. Majority gluten. Do let them pour sauce on the beehoon, it makes it smoother to swallow 😁
