What If We See a Gator? Kayaking in Florida State Parks

Today I’m in my Oru Kayak at Maclay Gardens Florida State Park with my mom and friend Emily. They rented kayaks at the park. We did call ahead to make sure they had them available, as they only have a few available for $15 each (plus park admission of $6 per car).

We did not see any alligators out today, but I have seen two while Kayaking at Maclay Gardens before. You are going to see gators when on the water in Florida; just be smart, stay away, and don’t freak out. They were here first :) And do a little bit of research on alligator safety before you head on the water.

It looks so peaceful to be out there. Friend of mine just said that a huge gator came right next to its kayak, it was a little scary. I guess it was just little curious.
