Kinda sounds like people were laughing along like she was playing around when she first started that opera song, then she tore it up and people were like, oh shit, she can sing anything!
guerotiezzi and that's one of the reasons just one what sets Whitney Houston apart from the rest. That beautiful woman could sing any and everything.... She truly was the BEST and the VOICE.
It's her show they already knew she could sing genius she was the top singer at the time. How would they be surprised? She could reach any note as a singer and they practiced it before because it was a concert. So no they were not making fun of her. That's a crazy comment.
Well for us opera is not anything. Opera for European aristocrat means what Gospel means for African American. Opera comes form Greek tradition like theatre does. It is what connects human to divine, higher power. We treat it with great respect as it unique for us European:)
LEGEND! Her headvoice is what I call perfection. The yooooooou part always gets me. Cry a river every time lol I miss you, Nippy! You were of the greatest, nothing can't take that from you.
We here were lucky or i was i remember when whitney very first came out i got witness whitneys star power and i had that chance to even meet her she was so kind i wish the kids today had someone like her she was truly beautiful and talented
Whitney is Whitney, and to think that this wasn't even HER PRIME makes this performance so much more astounding. R.I.P darling. I will always love you too.
Maybe not her prime but definitely her greatest performance of this song - she sustains the power in the big note, not faltering, glides to the high notes and does incredible runs we would never see again
Angus Robertson Honestly do you not see the people she was in front of?!?! Lmao All those opera singers hell yea this was about to be like she’s in the studio!!!!
i thought i had seen almost every version of her singing IWALY live that is until this. this has to be her best live performance of IWALY EVER!!!! and i’m just seeing this in 2021 omfggg!!! she hit EVERY note and her voice was fucking amazing!!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The world needs this...because this amazing woman should be remembered eeveryday !!!!! This performance..along with all her others ...set singing standards...we cannot forget that...PURE voice....no rasp...no breaks....no whispers...sweet melodies...PURE talent..you are able to HEAR...UNDERSTAND...and FEEL ..every word....please bring music back
This was one of her strongest performances of this song! This performance is a very testament to the amount of control and training she had in her craft! Beautifully done👌🏻
The sound quality was quiet, but this performance is one of her best ones by far! It's hard for me to pick a favorite performance from 1994 of I will Always Love you, because every version she had done during that time was beautiful! They'll never be another Whitney Houston, no matter what Jennifer Hudson sings.
Whitney is irreplaceable. It's bec of her God given voice and also her God given intuition when it comes to singing. She knows how to sing a song in so so many ways..there is no 2 identical live performance of a certain song but all of them sound really great. Most singers tend to just follow the record version but Whitney always cooks up a new version every time she performs. Given that, to me she is the best of the best!
Dear God in heaven...a combination of an artist at her absolute peak with a respectful audience who allowed her to be HEARD without applause, screams etc. in the middle of it all to ruin it....perfection...she is/was THE VOICE...I hope this video gets broader play...it is the ultimate performance and I think I have heard them all by now....RIP Whitney....damn what a talent
I loved her class and pure grace, and how she would sing soo angelic and unearthly and after a phenomenal performance she would bow to her audience.. she truly was 1 of a kind, with an unearthly, angelic voice, something the earth never heard, and never will experience again.
Opera director to opera singers: What did you all learn today? Opera singers: Dont come for Whitney Houston! She's the voice! Opera Director: You know this maan (in Smokey from Friday voice)!
I agree with the previous post. Having followed Whitney extensively since 1992, I've watched 100's of live performances, and without ANY doubt, this performance is her most "album-like" / album-quality of them all. Absolutely stunning. Makes me miss the old Whitney, but I will just hope to hear her old voice fully restored and singing in God's choir when we head to our home in the sky!
I've seen this performance sooo many times but for some reason watching it just now moved me to tears, this woman was truly a heaven sent angel.. Had only she continued to let the light be her guide in her darkest trying hours she would have bowed out gracefully...
The very very very best singer ever EVER I love you Whitney Houston. The only person i ever went to see in concert and the only person i ever wanted to see in concert. Her live performances were always better then her recorded. I miss you so.
sometimes when other artists extend their songs in live versions, it can be too much. but with whitney its like an added bonus to be gifted by her voice.
Wonderful. Absolutely beautiful! Whitney at her best and in the most impressive of company, she more than holds her own. Her live performances are a continuous revelation of her unequaled vocal talent.
During my time on this Earth, I have witnessed human beings find incredible ways to preserve centuries-old great works of art. How did we allow this once-living masterpiece to become destroyed? Now, our Stradivarius is gone and I just don't understand... SMH

A true example that a great voice deserves great material. Could you imagine Whitney's voice with mediocre material that would have never showcases her incredible and divine voice? Thank goodness that didn't happen. We would have truly missed something beyond rare.
I never believed that the voice was an instrument until I heard Whitney sing. There are really alot of amazing singers out there past present dead or alive but Whitney stands above them all. No Question.
No one like her - so special. Her voice is the truth. Whitney Houston is the best and people should appreciate her gift. Whitney looked so beautiful and confident.
It’s the combination of the supernatural brilliance of her voice and the terrible tragedy of her premature death that makes this song very emotional, almost to the point of discomfort. It’s haunting. RIP Nippy ❤️
Her voice was at its greatest peak this year...sadly not to long after this year is when she began to develop vocal nodules due to extreme and extensive touring and recording and her use of cigarette which began to make it harder for her to pull from her high register/ higher larynx. There will NEVER BE ANOTHER HER. Love you Nippy🙏🏽
She sounded dryer and more hoarse in Welcome home heroes compared to her 1988 concerts.. Whitney live in London is most definitely her best recorded on-screen concert.. Her Madela concert is a close second, although it wasn't as long as WHH.. but for what's worth, it is my point of view
Two of the greatest Pavarotti and Whitney . May they both RIP
Rest in JOY AND HARMONY FOREVERMORE. Always in my heart.

This was her prime vocally still, she just toned her voice down a notch for live performances due to the type of songs she sung
That control of range and power so that the delivery is both soft or strong whilst still maintaining great tembre, silkiness and ease of delivery.
Whitney is the only one that bring the house down when she sings this song who agrees?
She brings the house down every single time when she sings period. God gifted that woman for sureeee
