You're whole family is great! You and Jessica are teaching the boys so much. There's a lot of families who have no idea what they are doing .You two are doing it right❤
Thank you so much Derek. I was feeling low. I lost my dad a couple years ago. Your old school. I respect that. We need more guys like you these days. Thank you 😊
You know I love you and Jessica, but I think the boys are the stars of today’s adventure! Each one of them looked like they worked their tail off for the family. Awesome show!
Love the fact u spend so much time with ur boys and miss Jessica! Such a beautiful family! I try so hard to spend every min I can with my kids. When I was diagnosed with cancer I realized how precious it was to spend every min I could with the kids and grandkids. Life’s to short and even min matters!
Your boys work like we did as youngsters. Great to see. As a farm kid growing up in Wisconsin we always fought with the tree rows. In 5 years you get to do it again lol
There was a law written many moons ago that states "as soon as you light a fire we will send the winds to push it away from where you want to burn"......It was great to see the whole family pitching in helping to get the place all gussied up. Looks like you and Jessica deserved a cold beverage after it was all done.
It's not so implausible, because the fire creates an updraught of hot air, so the air rushes in to fill the gap. We had the same effect when working in corn fields, all of a sudden a dust devil would take off, sucking winds in from 50 yards away. ( those were the days, before combine harvesters were invented..!)
Watching your boys confidentiality driving all that equipment makes me realize that a may failing on my boys a bit. Now that mine is tall enough to operate a pickup, I took him out to so property to try it out and he was just too nervous.... It's hard living in the suburbs sometimes 😅
Some of my most favorite memories as a kid are helping my Dad (& Grandpa & Uncle) cut wood for the winter and hauling away the brush. It was exhausting and we would be out in the snowy woods all day, but it taught me the value of family and hard work. Thanks for that trip down memory lane. ☺️
I love this channel even more than VG garage ... this brings me back 20 years to my childhood farm working with my Dad. I do wish he had lived old and we could have kept farming. Thanks Derek.
As a former TN resident. I see all that poison ivy and itch just watching, I think I got it just watching. I hope you all are immune!! I love clearing land. You are all doing an amazing job!
That's my favorite Lee Sabre. The rescue with your boy, then all of the steps to resurrect her.... She's a power tour car, or one of the boy's first car. She deserves some fixing and onions....
How refreshing to see parents raising boys, to be boys, when his son picked up the termite, that's awesome, and of course the dad response, lots of protein of you want to eat it, awesome.
those boys are something else...precious moments, cheerish and hold on to them because they grow up as fast as your grass grows...love the channel you all rock keep up the great content ,god bless you all
Make sure to check for ticks. Last time I did some work clearing some brush I stumbled into a nest. Took me and my wife 20 minutes to get all those buggers off
Great video. It’s great to see the whole family out working together. The boys will one day look back at this memory with fondness. Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you are teaching the kids young how to be responsible drivers. We all were driving the 2ton grain trucks by 12 years old. Getting our drivers license was like a Sunday dinner. I'm guessing you have cleared almost 2 acres with everything in your video. Looking much better.
Coming from a Firefighter, it's huge that you're planning ahead and establishing a fire ring around your burn pile, instead of waiting for an oh sh*t moment, like a few others do. Your videos are always great, whether you're wrenching, or not. Thanks.
Your boys are truly amazing young men and that is a testament to two amazing parents. You and Jessica are doing an amazing job, and should be very proud of yourself. To be honest, you both are an outstanding roll models for young parents. Keep up the great work.❤❤❤
Great job! Nice to see the boys and Jessica helping out. Some of my fondest childhood memories were doing stuff like this with my Dad! Your boys will never forget these times.
Great to see the whole family mucking in and you definitely made that corner usable again. As soon as you lit the fire the fire gods summoned the fire winds.
That tire pressure sticker was referring to the spare tire that exists just above your belt and below your rib cage . I like your methods for clearing brush better than the one that my dad instructed me to use. First, he showed me how to file an edge onto the axe. Then he gave me a pair of old work gloves . Instructions; Cut down all that brush, dead trees, and junk bushes, drag it over to that patch of bare Granite, pile it up as high as you can . We will burn it when the snow flies . Then he went back to following the doctor's order, recovering from the burn injury that he got at work .
Derek you're so right about the wind picking up any time you start a burn pile, I can remember when I was a kid my Grandpa used to say it was proof that "God had a sense of humor" every time the wind picked up when we were burning.
Derek & Jessica- your kids are living their best lives! It warms my heart to see all the opportunities they have driving vehicles and all sorts of equipment. Well done !
Always a pleasure watching you the boys and Jessica work on the ranch! Reminds me of helping my old Dad on the farm in the SanFernando valley back in the early 60s! Makes for fond memories!we had three girls! Did the same thing with them! Thought them mechanics and wood work and being able to grow a garden!! They loved it and have done it with their own families! You and Jessica do a fine sharing and showing how a guy and a gal should raise their kids! 👍Regards from Mad Mike and the land of freezing Ass cold! 🥶❄🌨.. Colorado…..
While a guy enjoys a good fire seeing you and the boys working together you gotta smile at that and tell Jess to order some 5 x super sasquatch proud poppa t shirts
So good! So American! Just fantastic to see you working with your Boys on the property. I did with my Dad and my kids now grown did with me. I think I remember those times working with Dad (I'm 66 now) more than I do vacations and such. Keep on keeping on!
You gave me an idea…. steel toed crocs! Well maybe not, fire is weird it actually makes it’s own wind when it’s big enough. I always liked clearing overgrown brush from property, looks so good when you’re finished makes you feel good and you can see what you’ve accomplished.
I just found this channel like yesterday. The vice grip garage I’ve been watching for years. But I like this one even more then the other one . This channel has made it to my favorite 3 channels. Just a few acres - the Appalachian channel and now this one
Just the kinda wholesome content a guy needed while taking a lunch break! Just got done doing some trail/property clearing at a buddies house on Saturday and gotta say it's definitely one of my favorite activities for clearing the mind and staying in shape. 🤙
Love how ya train those boys correctly, letting them learn with minimal guidance. Stoked to see them driving trucks! I’ll be the one over here smiling 🙂 Great job parenting 🙏❤️😎🤙🛻💨
Good work! Derek, you need a Grapple for the Deere. Will make picking up all that brush effortless! Love to see those young men workin! It's so good for them!
good video, love to see the whole family working together. Tip for next time, use the excavator to push the trees over then pull the stump out with the whole tree.....saves a guy from messing with the chainsaw or touching the poison ivy or poison oak.
So impressed the knowledge and ability of your boys! You are doing a great job. When others neglect or leave them to video games, each generation gets farther from independence .... Your guys will go far!
Those younger humans have knees, spines, elbows, enthusiasm and everything that have a lot less miles on them. They really make a big difference on a job like this.
You’re raising your kids right !!! You are a great father … they are hard working kids that didn’t complain so you should be proud … i am sure they loved driving the truck and tractor so that’s part of the reason they didn’t complain lol … god bless and stay safe
What a great family video of everyone jumping in and clearing all that brush and trees and it makes it look so much better now and not so cluttered. We even got to see Bailey helping that's pretty rare for us viewers. Jessica mowing the grass Derek she's a keeper!
Nobody else on TH-cam I'd rather watch, came for the cars stayed for the whole family and Derek's sense of humour, big love to the vice grip clan
You're whole family is great! You and Jessica are teaching the boys so much. There's a lot of families who have no idea what they are doing .You two are doing it right❤
You're on a UK TV channel, Road Worthy Rescues, you've made it world wide Derek, well done!
A feller loves this channel
Always great to see a dad working cohesively with his young men in training. Keep up the Great work Derek and Jessica
Thank you, Derek, for being a Grade A father and husband!!!❤
Awesome seeing the kiddos handle the vehicles/ machinery 😁
You got some good boys most kids these days would cry if you asked them to work like that, good job boys !
Thank you so much Derek. I was feeling low. I lost my dad a couple years ago. Your old school. I respect that. We need more guys like you these days. Thank you 😊
Good hard working kiddos
Love seeing what a feller has going on around the homestead.
Seeing your youngest drive that ramp truck like he's done it eleventy billion times was right on. Love seeing videos from The Lodge. Keep 'em coming!
Amazing to see how they've grown right before our eyes! I remember when they couldn't see over the steering wheel or reach the pedals.
You know I love you and Jessica, but I think the boys are the stars of today’s adventure! Each one of them looked like they worked their tail off for the family. Awesome show!

Absolutely loved that shot with the boys riding in the ramp truck with Jessica sitting in the back too 😇🙏🏻
Your little humans worked hard! So nice to see them drive trucks and cars like when we where young! Loved that Derek!❤
Your boys work like we did as youngsters. Great to see. As a farm kid growing up in Wisconsin we always fought with the tree rows. In 5 years you get to do it again lol
The gift that keeps on giving…
More fire
Love the lodge channel Derek!
Thanks!
I’m a Jeremy of the 1982 variety myself…seen your name and had to comment lol 👍🏼

Is that the same law that causes bonfire smoke to follow me no matter where I am around the fire?!?!
@Vy:)
Smokey is always trying to tail grab me!
@@bodarville2510 Maybe snowman can cool things down.

Nothing like clearing land w your boys!! Very important in developing men
The boys are growing like weeds themselves. Glad to see you guys are doing things right and keeping them engaged in family things.

I love clearing land.
You are all doing an amazing job!
If you’re talking about what he pats at the beginning it’s Virginia Creeper.
You need someone with a forestry mulcher, short work of all that.
@@Mag_Aoidh actually Virginia creeper has 5 leaves
I saw poison Ivy in there. Didn't bother me as a kid, but I can't get anywhere close to it now.
@@marcusaurelius2770 I was immune until my mid 20's. Now if I get within 10 ft of it I seem to break out.
Very calming and relaxing to see everyone working together...and not yelling at each other! T. Y.!
Agreed, this would never succeed as a reality show, too much kindness, respect, and good morals.
That's my favorite Lee Sabre. The rescue with your boy, then all of the steps to resurrect her.... She's a power tour car, or one of the boy's first car. She deserves some fixing and onions....
I love seeing the work you, Jessica, and the boys are doing on the old homestead. You gotta take advantage of that free labor before they're gone!
You have a great family. All chip in to help when needed! Goes to show great parenting!!!

So good to see all the family pitch in together and the boys are skilled at driving tractors and vehicles! Looks like the weather cooperated too!
If you run a few ropes along your bed before you load up, makes unloading easy
You my friend are a workaholic. An inspiration and a fantastic mentor, to I'm sure, many people including myself 👍

U don't wanna be down wind of that smoke if there's any "poison Ivy" in that pile a burnin otherwise you will be one sick puppy!
The foot thing was never explained that I heard about. Was it what cleet was talking about getting burned
Yes. The crown Vic headers dumped heat onto the floor pan of the car, and burned the drivers who wore thinner shoes. 😬
