I lost my dad when I was 19. Riding was something we enjoyed together but didn't get to do a lot of. I'm sitting at my desk at work and I was finished an hour ago. I couldn't stop watching. To you, it's probably just spending time with your boys. To some of us, it was a video full of teary eyed smiling. The high 5 at the top of the hill got me. You absolutely made their week. Seriously, thank you for sharing that experience. You're an awesome guy and an amazing father.
We need more fathers like you. Boy falls (or girl) and you don't rush over to help and brush off the dirt. Just the encouragement & instruction so they can accomplish something themselves. Great parenting!
How old is Derrick? Your kids are going to wear you out. That's a good thing. One of these days you'll be eating nothing but dirt and rocks when they come ripping right by doing wheelies and you will never catch em.
@@ViceGripLodge Hey and watch those knees! I was riding in the woods of Costa Rica on a newer 250 KTM 2stroke and trying to keep up with 20 somethings and blew out my knee for the third time! Be careful! I’m also 56 so, you know.

Those 44 minutes put a smile on my face and a tear in my eyes too. My dad (passed in 2015 and miss him terribly) hated dirt bikes but gave in to me when I was 14 so that I could buy my first one with my grass cutting money. 1974 Suzuki TS100 for $350 in 1980. I loved riding and kept dirt bikes for almost 40 years (mostly Honda CR250's). When my sons became old enough, we started to ride together and your videos took me back to a cherished time. They are now 27 and 26, have their careers started, girlfriends, truck payments, etc. You're a great dad and it's insanely important to take some time away do this with your sons. Thanks for sharing your day with us just to keep those memories alive.
Those suzuki TS models were great. I sadly sold mine several years ago ( mine was a 1973 ts185) bought it back in the mid 2000s when I was a lot younger for I believe $50. Needed a LOT work then and right up to when I sold it. Ol girl was stubborn sometimes to start but when she finally fired up, she just kept going and going.
Thanks Bailey&Bentley for lettin us go along for the trip. Slimy mud,wet leaf covered rocks, mud holes, and y’all came back with no broken bones or teeth!!!!!!! Good job boys!
I cannot express how it warms my heart seeing a father and his sons creating memories that will be talked about and remembered for years to come between them.
Such a great dad.. my dad taught me so much and this reminds me of him. He died in 2006 at 95. Your boys will look back and remember all these great times.
This was an absolute joy to watch!! You reminded me of how my husband took our 3 little humans(2 boys and 1 girl) out on dirt bikes. Memories they will never forget our lose. Their dad passed away July 26 2019. Thank you so much!! They sat and watched this with and just smiled.

Seeing you spend quality time with your sons is awesome. I am married now and trying to start a family of my own and hope to enjoy moments just like this. Been watching your channel for a few years now and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. You and your family are an inspiration and it’s awesome to see where you guys are now. Keep up the great work!
Loved this video, Derek! Nothing better than seeing a father spending time with his kids, and being a role model for his sons of how to be a good dad,you are to commended for taking time out of your busy schedule to fill that responsibility .This is a rare thing in our self-driven society, and I am glad to see an exception to the norm.
I don't have time for cars these days. My 3 boys still wonder about my old race car that none of them have ever seen start and run. But, we're riding dirt bikes. Such a great way to spend time with your kids when you find time. Building memories.
Love this…brings me to tears! You are so very blessed, and so are your sons. Many of us could only dream of our fathers spending quality time with us. This just warms my heart! Thank you for including us all in the adventures with your family. You’re a dream dad! So proud of you! These boys will never forget these memories!
We’re all reminiscing of our own childhood while watching this video Derek. In this crazy world, it’s wonderful to see there are still families like yours living the dream. Your boys don’t know it yet, but they will look back at this day as a great memory they will cherish forever. You’re doing awesome things Derek. I sure do admire you. Thanks for taking me back in time and remembering how my Dad did his best to be a good father. ❤️
My entire life I was set on not having any kids but boy does Derek make a guy rethink that.... So much respect and admiration for what he does and how he does all of it!
After having 2 boys you actually get to relive your youth and see the enjoyment through their eyes 😊. Play with Legos, RC cars, dirt bikes go to movies etc…❤
My kids are in their 30's now, but this sure brings back memories of them learning to ride. I'm choking up with pride for you boys. Good job! Have fun. Be safe!
Derek, I love watching you be an amazing Father to your little humans. You just made more amazing memories for you and the boys and thanks so much for you, Jessica and the kids in what you do and for sharing with us 😊 ❤️
"Did the right thing and made them both run"... my man I needed that today!!! I love dirt biking with my girls and love making stuff run since I was also knee-high to a grasshopper! I haven't really commented before, but I've fallen in love with your content over the last few months!!! Keep it up, you are an excellent mechanic, comedian and probably the best family man out there...so refreshing!!!
I kept turning my head looking over my shoulder for Bailey and Bentley like I was on the trail with yall. Great job guys. Kinda felt bad for Bailey though, he definitely needed a dirt bike on that trail.
Pit bikes are fun but those 65 sized wheels definitely limit where you can go, especially as a beginner rider. Still it's fun to try as a kid. I never had a pit bike growing up, but I rode plenty of them. They're fun on mini tracks but for trails my XR80 or later on a KLX125 was a lot more fun. I was 10 inches from touching the ground on my RMZ250 so I never rode trails on that thing.
This episode made a guy shed a tear or two as this is how I was raised on bikes and wheelers. Your raising those kiddos as good as any good ole boy could imagine. Love to see it. Hopefully they follow in their fathers footsteps!
Derek, you are a guys guy. This is the "good stuff" right here. My dad taught me everything I know about wrenching. With that, I'm making a pretty decent side gig out of it and will make it full time when I retire from my real job in 5 years. I still have fond memories of us doing this through the everglades when I was a kid. I can't remember wheat i had for lunch yesterday, but remember riding wheelers when I was 6. Keep up the good work Derek. These boys are only young once.
Well I'll be dipped! This brings back so many memories. My little brother and I grew up on these. We had little 50s Yamaha and Hondas, then Suzuki 100, YZ 80 while my alcoholic, mechanic crazy dad rode a Husqvarna 250. Boy did we have some times and lots of scars to prove it. After that it was 4x4 square bodies we built from junk. But we sure tore up the sandunes out in west TX!!🎉 I love what you're doing with your boys, it got me motivated to revive my 79 for my nephew. Unfortunately my brother passed away a couple years ago. Anywho I'm rambling, keep up the good work Derek!
Brings a tear to my eye watching this one. I have fond memories of riding with my dad through the trails. I now ride with my son and cherish the time we spend together.
Those boys will always remember these times. I'm glad to see you making time for the family. I wish my dad had done these kinds of things with me. A fella's gotta say though, get Bailey a real bike for Pete's sake! He struggled the most with that thing. LOL
Going thru the comments, it’s amazing how similar our upbringings were! I’m a 2-stroke feller for sure! Had a QR50 to start with, then a PW80 and ended up with a DT50. After that it was time to grow up with work and responsibilities. Now I should be able to blame my 40 year-crisis and get me a bike again! ☺️
Dirt bike riding with the family always builds memories they’ll never forget. My kids have been riding since they were 4 they’re now teenagers and still love riding. I think they’ll do it the rest of their lives.❤
What a great day with the boys. Thanks for bringing us along, you are THE dad, and it's so cool of you to get the time to just let it rip with the kids. Even with the mud, those look like fantastic trails..
This is now one of my favorite videos of yours. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along with you guys because let's face it the cameras can not only be a pain in the butt at times.
This video absolutely put a huge smile on my face. It brought back so many fond memories of riding dirt bikes with my family. I got my 1980 Honda Z50 when I was 6 and then jumped up to a 1981 Honda XR200 when I was older. I remember my dad showing me how to work on my bike (and later my car) also riding ahead to check out trails just like you did for your kids. Derick, you are one fine human being and a great father! Thank you for sharing this special moment with the world!
This is awesome! I’m a feller who’s considerably older than you Derek, but I too spent my youth on dirt bikes and this is a fantastic way to have some family time! Stay safe a God bless you all! 👍👍
I was raised on dirt bikes as well. When my son turned 8, I got him a cr80 and I bought a used CR 500 for myself. He out grew the 80 and wanted a 125. I got a deal on a CR 250 so he went straight to that. You're a great dad. If more fathers did things like this there wouldn't be as many kids on drugs.
Just bought my boy Bryce a 2004 KX65 in October for his tenth birthday. First full clutch ride and he is currently ripping up the lawn! Here in Maine you have to have a 12 hour rider safety course to ride off your own property, gonna get him signed up so in the spring we can head out for the trails! Thank you for sharing this!!
Vice Grip Garage I vote for. It would be cool to see you work on the bike as well . BTW you are truly blessed by the hands of God and I love the way you talk to them and show them how to get things done. I only wish that there were more parents like you and Jessica.
As much as I love all the car content and other stuff, this is now my favorite thing y'all have ever shared!!! As y'all can likely tell from my Avatar, I love two-wheeled Adventures and the fact that Derek is such an incredible father teaching his kids all these valuable life skills that I look forward to doing the same with my own one day!
I'm 4stroke guy, 92 XR600, and a 2005 Suzuki DRZ400, I glad to see you take the time with your boys. It means they will grow up to be good men, keep up the good work Derek
Most dads would start their kids out on a dry trail on a sunny day on mostly level terrain. Not Derek, he's a, if you want to learn to swim, I'll just toss you in the deep end kind of guy. Probably why we love him so much. I noticed a real difference between the way Bentley was riding in the early part of the ride to the way he rode on the way back. He definitely gained some confidence and started riding more with his feet on the pegs than off. He's going to be an excellent motorcyclist as he gains more experience. Fun watching you guys out their enjoying the nice weather, lol.
this was really nice and wholesome to watch, your kids are lucky to have you. sadly i didn’t have my dad around when i was younger to make memories like these, granted i’m still 16 almost 17, either way, your a great father. keep it up!
My first bike when I was 10 was a BRAND NEW Honda Elsinore MR 50. Took the governor off, and that was my daily transportation, and fun. Country life in Longbranch Washington in 1981. Yer' doing your boys right! Love this.
What I was thinking too that littlebuke hasn't near he type of torque or the suspension to get over the logs and rocks and whatnot never mind the mud and clay
My first bike was a Yamaha JT2 60 (1972). My dad bought it for me but said, you work on it to keep it running....I did. I'm so glad you're teaching your kids to be responsible.
My older brother was in the army back in 1974 and I was 14 he came in from fort bragg and took me to the Suzuki dealer and bought me a brand new ts/100 man that motorcycle set me free.
Fun to watch. Had a 74 Honda SL100 4 stroke. What a blast. Blew a fuse about ten miles back in Wherehouser roads and figured out I could wrap the aluminum from a piece of gum around the fuse to get me home. Good thing there wasn't a short. I learned about them later. The fuse never blew again. I don't know. I'm 60 now so that was a minute ago. Awesome video Derek, Thank You!
Remember it well. Suzuki 400. Front wheel plowed out from under it as that beast was prone to do. It was on my leg. My other leg was on the bike. Exhaust pipe branding my leg. Nobody for miles. Took an hour to work out from under it. You figure things out when you have to. Good times! 😄
Nothing like wrenching on a good ol' 2 stroke. Great way to learn mechanicals and lighter on the trail. Nowadays I stick mostly to 4-stroke (WR250) enduros that allow me to ride street legal back roads and to the trail. They've come down significantly in weight (power to weight ratio), when compared to my old XT350. Enjoyed watching you teach the youngins, patience and understanding go a long way. Keep up the 2-wheel fun.
I grew up on 2 stroke. I had all my best memories on a 2 stroke. Derek and Jessica it's always great to watch you and the family spending quality time together. I my respect you have it by showing your boys true values in life and what they do.
I really can't think of anything to say better than you are a great father Derek. The patience the time and the joy and pride in your eyes as you coach I'm trying your key to be men is exemplary. One of the most valuable thing you can give a child it's your time.
This video brought back many memories of my dad and I going dirt bike riding every Sunday in the 1980s trust me that your boys will always cherish these moments when they get older you're an awesome father for doing that
That double edged sword of our kids doing stuff that requires a lot of discipline and maturity making us chest busting proud but at the same time we’re asking how is it possible that their even tall enough to do what their doing. The ups and downs of being the old man. Much more ups luckily. Love y’all !
Nothing better than a 2stroke bud. Had a DT125 and then had a 92 KX250. Both great bikes but the KX250 was my favorite and I miss it. I would love to find another one. Like you I gave it up and went to street bikes. Been riding Harleys for many years. You are a good dad doing things with your boys. They will never forget.
man. its amazing the simple fun u can have just bee boppin aroind on a dirtbike with kids. i gt 2 kiddos learnin on theyre firsts. its worth every penny when you smile with pride
Love it.. Yup, 50+ years ago hammering the trails on a 72 Honda, if it broke you just has to figure it out. My dad help me as much as he could, however he was blind by the time I was 10 and at 16 I became his driver. Still lots' of great memories .. God bless
Thank you for showing your day out with the boys. It brought back a lot of memories from when I was a kid. My Dad would take me and my two brothers and even my Mom out to ride on the logging roads when we lived just outside of Vancouver B.C. Great times. Yes 5 bikes. Three small bikes in the back of our early 70’s Ford van and the two bigger bikes on a trailer.
That honda 100r is the nicest I've seen and probably the nicest restored 100r out there. And the deal your boy got on it, made my jaw drop. I cant believe that's all he paid. Congratulations to your boy for getting a deal like that. Well, Godbless you and your wife and your boys. Take care, Steve.
Man this is one of my favorite episodes yet. I've been a bike guy since I was young back in the 70s. I got my son his first bike a Yamaha ttr 50 when he was 6. I've restored a lot of old 70s Japanese bikes, both road and dirt. I know what your saying about the price of dirt bikes lately (crazy!) I have a modern 4 stroke myself WR 450 but I'm going to buy a 2 stroke next. I had a CR 500 for a while and in Utah out in the desert it was a blast! Some of the best times with my son were on the bikes! Please do more motorcycle stories!
I came across your videos awhile ago and watched about a hundred or so now and can tell we'd be best friends from your country music lyric drops, taste in vehicles and general good nature about you. Cheers from Oregon.
This brought back so many memories of my 87 Kawasaki KX 250 and trail riding and dirt track racing with my buddies. I can smell the 2 stroke oil burning watching this. Great you can enjoy riding with your boys.
What an example of parenting! Thanks for sharing the memories you made with your boys Congratulations to all of y’all! The grins say it all My favorite dirt bike was my DR 650. Rode 1000 miles and only about 75 was pavement on a trip to see our youngest and his wife’s newborn, rode home in a a snowstorm riding in the ditch along side the highway, it was 100% snow and ice covered 🙏❤️😎🤙
Well I'll be dipped!!!! Dirt biking AND offroading in one day....saaaweeet 👌😁😎 very nice time spent teaching n enjoying time off with the kiddos can't get much better than that 😎 I myself love the four wheeler flavor lil to wild on the two wheel style but still very enjoyable thanks for taking us along Derick n kids 😉
Derek you're one hell of a MAN SIR!!! I mean that with all due respect and out of appreciation, you in so many ways remind me of my own father who died about a year-and-a-half ago due to what they called covid/ pneumonia, I sure do miss him and not a day goes by that I don't think about him, however these videos especially this one with the dirt bikes reminded me of growing up on dirt bikes as well and my dad driving a 79 Chevrolet square body pickup truck and that is what we used to haul our dirt bikes ,3 and 4-wheelers around with , sometimes pulling trailer, but if your boys are anything like me and my brother those boys of yours will love you no matter what until the day they died because you are showing them what love is and what it's like to have it and to be TRULY loved and also showing them that they have to be able to take care of theirselves one day and you are teaching them how to do so alongside of having fun and enjoying time with them as well, however my father had to work so much driving truck when I was younger he wasn't around back then a whole whole lot but he definitely made up for it over the years regardless, and I also understand as well as comprehend why he worked and why he worked so hard, and that reason was to keep a roof over our heads and food on our tables or in our bellies, it's very sad to know he passed so early being that he was only 59 years old and did not get to enjoy even one hour of his retirement even, and that also I hurt my mother in ways financially , sadly my father was a straight edge person that did not drink but maybe occasionally or rarely as well as no drugs whatsoever and he quit smoking about 13 years before he died, he still worked pretty hard and workout many times when not working or doing something else to stay busy he was a very active man and would do just about anything for anyone who would ask or who needed it... it's very sad to have had to deal with it also soon and my own health is declining very fast but seeing these types of videos from you really has been heartwarming to say the least, I hope the best for you and your family Derek stay safe!!! PS : sorry for being about 2 months late on watching this however it popped up on my TV and so I had to pick up the phone and leave this comment, noticing the video was about two months old and I realized I should have watched it by now...
This video is awesome I myself have been been an of roader most of my life from 5 hp lawn mower mini bikes, dirt bikes, atcs, quads, 4x4 trks, 4x4 jeeps, and now sand rails. With all of that going on I raised with my wife two boys and I can't forget my off road family that grew over the years to. Watching this just brought back dozen of memories of fun times. This is the best video you have made so far that I have watched I normally follow your other channel that I follow from my off road channel. I just found this or it just popped up so here I am glad I found you here. Thanks for sharing and up Keep the great work of being a dad.
glad you're doing something with him now. my son is 40 and I now have the time to spend quality time with him. however he is busy now. it's the whole Cat's in the Cradle song for sure
I remember back in 1992 when I got my 1982 Yamaha YZ490... never been so terrified and excited all at the same time in my life.. There is NOTHING like the feeling when a big bore 2 stroke hits its power band.. It reminds me of Star Wars when you see a space ship hit warp speed. Everything blurs by.. but it sure is exhilarating! ..... and terrifying!
I had the same flavor as i grew up but a 100.. my dad bought it blown up and he taught me how to rebuild them. Its absolutely amazing that you continue the tradition!
Geez that looks like a blast. It brings back memories of my youth when I would hang with the guys and ride the 2-cycles, Yamahas, Hondas and Kawasakis all around the woods on this one fellas parents farm. It was a shock to most of the guys when they saw I could ride as well as they could, we had a blast! Seeing this has really made me nostalgic, Thanks! Your guys are doing great. Seeing the views are a bonus, love Tennessee Fall, beautiful.
Brings back memories with my dad I’m 36 now we still ride together been riding since I was 4years old . Best days was me and dad going off road on a Sunday morning and then getting home and mum had a lovely dinner waiting after she moaned at us both for being so dirty. You’re a total credit to what a dad should be out there learning enjoying life.
Need more Dads like this.

I sniff a collab coming on.

Fully support this collab!

I think the most impressive part of the whole deal is that Bailey fought through all of that muck in a pit bike. He's a trooper.
Darn right, glad he's breaking out of his shell and embracing how awesome this stuff is.

I'd like to see the bike on vice grip garage. Never bad to mix things up from time to time.
YES! Let's see that "Fraken-Harley" in the shop! Cleaned a bit and brought back so's the tires see some inappropriate wear!🏍️😎
Ya with you there
You know what'd really throw peeps for a loop, lodge fix the bike..can't say I've seen a revival on lodge

Bringing fond memories of dad in the garage. We lost him this year. Thanks for the show. Really needed and loved it.
Derek, I love watching you be an amazing Father to your little humans. You just made more amazing memories for you and the boys and thanks so much for you, Jessica and the kids in what you do and for sharing with us 😊 ❤️
Guy has to play as hard as he works.
Yeah, I completely agree with you.
We definitely bit off a LOT that day !
Father of the year! I love it. I raised 2 sons who are now adults and I miss those great times when they were young.
"Gotta wait till it's 300 degrees and comes out scalding hot" "sounds smart" lmao he's definitely your son.
Also need to see more of that harley
The laughter at unloading ”oh we are gonna get dirty today”! Epic!
Best vid yet Derek. Those boys are having THE best life, ever.
Nothing better than to see a dad spending time with two terrific sons. Enjoy Derek they grow up quick 😊🇺🇸
Great Dad & Great boys having fun together- NOTHING BETTER TO WATCH THAN THIS - WELL DONE
God bless you Derek, these memories you're making with your boys are absolutely priceless. Love from the UK.
Love this.
This is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time because you had your boys with you and you were out just having fun
Bailey is a trooper for hitting those trails on a pitty. Well done boys!
Bentleys realization when he realized that’s why his front end wobbles 😂 reminds me of my younger self.
Back in the day we never thought of if something went wrong unless you wasn't at the dinner table 😂
FUN TIMES! Thank you!!! I alway's enjoy whatever you show us.. Family adventures on the dirt bikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dirt bike family fun!!
What’s up buff
@@LunarOutlawsGarage hello lunar
I grew up on 2 stroke. I had all my best memories on a 2 stroke. Derek and Jessica it's always great to watch you and the family spending quality time together. I my respect you have it by showing your boys true values in life and what they do.
I really can't think of anything to say better than you are a great father Derek. The patience the time and the joy and pride in your eyes as you coach I'm trying your key to be men is exemplary. One of the most valuable thing you can give a child it's your time.
This video brought back many memories of my dad and I going dirt bike riding every Sunday in the 1980s trust me that your boys will always cherish these moments when they get older you're an awesome father for doing that
Memories the boys will never forget….nor you ! Great times with “da” boys !
Love the way you praise both boys. Nothing like dad showing interest in their sons!
I love. To watch you have fun with those boys...brings back the time I did youth tractor pulling with my 3...boys. What a blessing..
man. its amazing the simple fun u can have just bee boppin aroind on a dirtbike with kids. i gt 2 kiddos learnin on theyre firsts. its worth every penny when you smile with pride
Thanks for sharing the memories you made with your boys
Congratulations to all of y’all!
The grins say it all
My favorite dirt bike was my DR 650. Rode 1000 miles and only about 75 was pavement on a trip to see our youngest and his wife’s newborn, rode home in a a snowstorm riding in the ditch along side the highway, it was 100% snow and ice covered
🙏❤️😎🤙
Well, I’ll be dipped! Awesome! What a great way to raise the kids, man! That’s awesome!! Right on, Derek!
I can see you are very proud of your boys. Father and sons enjoyable time together. Made you some good brownie points with the boys.
The adventure has just begun!!!! LOL!!!! It’s your whole video library my friend! Love it all!
Slicker’n a Hot Snickers! Looks like a fun time. The boys will tell stories of this day to your great great grandkids.
Great to see you spending time with your 2 sons. YOUR A GREAT FATHER!!!!
Thumbs up on the video, and two thumbs up for raising them boys right! Love seeing videos like this.
