This was excellent and very informative. It is the best comparison and detailed explanations I have seen in colour analysis videos. Comparing 5 different reds was very helpful. Thanks for the video!
Hi Ella. I love watching your colour analysis videos. I always learn something. I would love to see you analyse your own colour type! This would really enhance our learning. What colours look best on you and why? Why do you wear certain colours and not others? Does that influence your hair colour? Makeup? Even your choice of eyeglasses? You are a powerful example for your channel.
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback. I have analyzed my color type a while ago in a video: th-cam.com/video/xufbWzlY7Iw/w-d-xo.html Soon, I will also cover more about my color type, what and why I wear certain colors.
Interesting. It seems like you're saying that there's a red for everyone, but that no one can wear every red. I agree with that. I definitely couldn't wear the classic reds that this actor could, or orange/coral reds. I do like a slightly soft cranberry red on me though.
I love this red so much!!! I buy most of my lipsticks around Christmas for these types of shades. I love the Mac holiday ones. I have a lot of similarities in my skin with Monica tbh!! She's like a sister from another mister but with brown eyes instead of my gray lol. I see her thrown around winter in seasonal analysis all over the place. I think if there ever was a true winter, she embodies it much like I do in seasonal terms. This is your best shade to date out of all the ones I've seen. :D
You two would be different color types in my system and thus will have different colors in your palette. A difference in Sub Root Skin Color, hair, or eyes already makes a different color type (e.g., her having brown eyes vs. you having grey eyes).
I would love to be trained as you, I feel to elevate style of health of all and each individual would bring about a more joyous and harmonious Earth of self love
As I understand blue root skin color types incline to cooler colors and red root skin color people are warmer, cause green as an opposite color is warmer than blue. The skin color chart also shows that RRSC shades are pinkish and BRSC shades are orange. In seasonal color analysis pink is regarded as cool and orange as warm but in your system it’s the other way round. Am I correct?
It is true that pink is considered cool in Seasonal analysis while orange and yellow is considered warm. In my system, all RSC types are considered warm. All RSC types can wear both cool and warm colors in its scientific sense (red to yellow = warm; green to blue = cool). There are only very few exceptions where people in my system can only wear warm or cool colors.
Dear Ella my telephone ( front camera) is making terrible pictures of me in the North window, though in my case it is a door. I am not that pink. Which settings do you recommend in brightness, saturation and contrast?
What phone do you have (brand and version)? I recommend leaving the settings to standard and make no changes to them. After taking the picture, you can adjust settings of temperature (never brightness, saturation or contrast) to match your skin tone more. But submit the original image and the image with the changed settings so I have a reference. Every color type contains warm and cool colors in their skin. Depending on which colors are emphasized through the camera I can calculate your skin tone. You can submit images in different locations: north window, outside, inside room without a window with artificial lighting, evening, morning, and more images from your past. That is usually enough to find your color type. Should none of the images help me sufficiently find your type I will let you know and guide you to make better images for the analysis.
Hello! I have question that is maybe a little strange....in your color analysis method, what do you do when someone has a different skin 'tone' on their face than on their hands/body? Do you focus on what colors flatter the facial skintone or the body's skintone?
Many women are experiencing this effect due to skin conditions such as rosacea, allergies, hormonal imbalance, and more. In that case, I first analyze the true Root Skin Color and then adjust the colors to flatter the facial skin tone to some degree. This depends on whether the condition is chronic or temporary. Does that answer your question?
I have been busy and the sunny days went away and I haven't taken my pictures. I need to wait for some sunny days here in The Netherlands to take my pictures.
There are multiple factors if someone can't wear red at all. Some Sub Root Skin Color types within the Red, Blue, and Yellow family can't wear red at all. Then, there are also skin conditions that prevent you from wearing red and other factors. Only a color analysis with your analysis image will bring 100% clarity.
would red make olives green? greens balance red, but I wonder if red balances greens lol and brings out the greens in olives. In my case I have noticed that some pinks could bring out my greens lol.
that depends on the depth and chroma of someone with Yellow RSC. Not all will experience the same effect with red. Do you see pinks bringing out greens in you when you are inside or outside?
@ellaraystyle it is inside that some pinks or even some dusty warm purples could bring out the greens. I must say that I am not 100% sure that I am olive and have a yellow skin color root. Only the analysis will tell. I do observe here and there the effect of colors but prejudices will not help observations.

as long as the clouds are not dark grey you can take pictures in a cloudy day outside.
@ellaraystyle ah I will try it then.
