$5 isn't exactly expensive either. If you can drop $2000 on a camera, you can drop $5 on a controller app (though on the flipside I do think it should be free for buyers of the cameras as a matter of principle). Either way, better than paying for a wireless follow focus and rigging/powering it - for cases like recording yourself for youtube anyway. 100% agree it should have live-view, would save you from having to buy a monitor.
Super helpful, thank you. I just downloaded but be aware I found on my BMPCC 6K that although I can adjust focus via the app, there is no A B C mark function.
What would I need to remotely view video from this camera? I've got iPad Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, MacBook. I would figure there would be some way through Bluetooth or wifi, or even use an external computer monitor that I could view the screen. Do you know of any way to get this to work?
What interests me about this is if it enables you to pretty much put a big battery right up to the screen and mount this on the side of the camera for controls and mount a monitor on top. It would depend on how reliable it was connecting to the camera. Can it auto connect as soon as you power off and on? If its not 100 percent reliable then its not worth the trouble.
Great question, once you pair your phone and camera to the app you don't have to pair it again. When you power down then on again, you just tap on the camera in the app and connect. I hope that answers your question.
Will this works on 6k? Also for manual lens do we need to connect focus puller and then use this app? Or the app directly connects to camera and we are ready to focus without any external rigs ( focus ring )?
Crazy question, after watching 2 videos about this - you cannot see what you are adjusting on the screen, right? I mean you have to be right behind the camera to see the results of the adjustments you are making?
Does anyone have any recommendations of lenses that support the A, B, C focus for the 6K? I have 4K with the panasonic lens and it's beautiful but not with the 6K. I have the signa and it doesn't work. you can pull focus but can't set focus points. :(
It's a real shame that the picture is not being transmitted onto the iPad from the camera like the Panasonic app does. No Live Vew?, Real Deal Breaker for this guy. Would have definitely purchased it if it had live you..
Hi, Can anyone help please ? I have the app on Android, and when I click record on the app phone screen, I can see its counting in seconds etc, but it does not trigger my BMPCC 6K. Am I stupidly missing something ? Its a feature I need to use if anyone can point me in right direction ? Thanks
@@GEMNaturals can't remember of the top of my head but if you look up the one in the video in the App Store, just scroll down and you'll find it, it's made by Blackmagic I believe. If I remember I'll check tomorrow and post it here.
I don’t think it’s fair to say that $5 payment is a downfall for the app. I mean, someone wrote the code. Paying $5 for countless hours of code is not a downfall. Bill Gates was one of the first programmers to push that software should be paid for. I would still pay for it if it was a monthly or yearly subscription.
The further I watch your video you keep repeating the app is not cheap and should be free but you use it. Common man! You make a thousands of dollars by people just watching this videos and yet you say the very subject of your video that makes you the money should be free. It’s like saying google shouldn’t pay you for the ads on this video.
@@joshuamartinstudios Hey Martins, just so you know I don’t intend to bash you or anything but as a software developer, it hurts to hear people say an engineers work should be free. Enjoyed your video though just giving my honest feedback so you can make better decisions and succeed with your channel.
This app is AMAZING!!! It's not a black magic design app. It's by We Are Empire. I'd pay far more than $5. Jeeze man, $5. People gotta eat.
Too bad there isn’t a video feed option so you could see your image LIVE on a 12.9” iPad Pro screen! 🤷🏽♂️

so you can control focus on the 6k now? nice
Does the focusing work well on the app? Easy to use while on a gimbal?

This app just saved me 200 bucks on a wireless follow focus system.
what lense are you using with your camera??
The SLR magic 18mm for MFT
@@joshuamartinstudios solid thanks!
Do you know If the app is avaible for android? Or only iphone and ipad?
Can you do playback from the app? And possibly save to camera roll?
Nope
does the lens control need the lens to be in AF mode to work? Also how well does it work? can you pull focus with it?
I’ll have to test that out
you can indeed pull focus. definitely need an AF lens because it's all in software!
What the bluetooth range like?
Not sure. I haven't tested it

Sigma 18-35 can control focus line?
I'm not sure, I haven't tested that. I only use manual lenses
Colleague a question... Where did you get the mock up for the ipad screen?
Will this works on 6k? Also for manual lens do we need to connect focus puller and then use this app? Or the app directly connects to camera and we are ready to focus without any external rigs ( focus ring )?
Yes, it works on the BMPCC 6K.
Is it available for android also??
I'm not sure, you'll have to check
look like a great app, i have 6K pocket, will al those functions on the app
work? even the focus?
the focus support is quite limited for the 6k; please check the developer comments on the app store. only supported lenses
Sad to say I cant get my 6k pro to pair with my phone. this video was no help
Crazy question, after watching 2 videos about this - you cannot see what you are adjusting on the screen, right? I mean you have to be right behind the camera to see the results of the adjustments you are making?
you'll need a wireless transmitter to view the on screen changes.
Hi, I can’t. When connecting the camera to the iPhone, there is no picture on the iPhone. what do you think is the problem?
It doesn't show a image. It's just a remote
Joshua Martin Studios YES, I understand you. I am using ZY PLAY, the picture has stopped displaying

No Live Vew?, Real Deal Breaker for this guy. Would have definitely purchased it if it had live you..
It's a superb app. You don't think wireless focus is worth 5 bucks?
I agree I only purchased it so o can view the images while recording like Panasonic
Its Bluetooth. No way to transfer so many data.
Can it do a raw video?
No
why is the autofocus button suddenly gone from the app?
Great question - and I don't have the answer. I just opened the app today and it's been updated
I'll have to make an update video
TNKS BRO!
Can you connect air pod pros to these?
To the app?
Can you export video with the app to your phone ?
Unfortunately you can not. It’s just a camera control
I’m about to try mounting my phone to my Robin-S and control bmpcc focus for a shoot. Wish me luck!!!! Lol

does not connect to ipad. I can't connect
Email the devs
It is a deception, it does not have rack focus control, only one line appears, but the positions a, b, c do not appear
There is a free app that lets you control white balance, iris, shutter angle, iso and lets you start and stop a recording.
What's the name of the app?

Paid apps are not a “downfall.” Why do some people expect developers to give their hard work and creativity away?

No Live View?, Deal Breaker, No Question. Panasonic Does.
The developer of the app is not black magic, or is it? If its not bm, it's ok to ask for some money for all the work they did...
It's not. Look at the details in the app store
