Great video. Informative. I occasionally tow bmw's to Bryant St, Cncrd, or S.R. (usually accidents, or no starts), in our bay area, but I don't know all the ins n outs of how the dealership works. So thank you; know a little more of warranty fine print. Fortunately, no problems w/the 750gs:), so far. Its awesome seeing you jump onto 280 from JD, too!!!😄. Ride on.
Thanks for the video. I do really hop that this solved the problem. It sounded ok on the test ride accept for maybe on time or so, but as you said it’s not really sure that the problem is completely solved.
According to my manual - turn the handlebars all the way left, pull the outer cable away from the clutch lever and there should appear a small gap ~1/16-1/8" between the outer cable housing and the grip. Else the cable is too tight and can slip under power (and wear your plates out even faster).
I have a 2022 f750gs with 10,000 kiometers and it got the clutch cable broken 😢. Its been like 5 or 6 times I took it to tbe dealer for several problems ,first the whater pump was replaced ,then the aceleration body ( fuel injection sistem) ,after that a sensor or i don't even know , I am very disapointed with bmw bikes ......
heart for the comment. but boo for the gs that keeps breaking on you. that is unfortunate. I have been lucky with mine *cross fingers* we have cable problems with the 850 gsa also.
i just changed my clutch cable, those lower adjustments are for adjusting the slop in the clutch lever. the tension of the clutch cable is handled right at the 2 round nuts that go into the clutch in which you slide the cable in and out. on a new install after setting 8mm from the round locknut to the threaded round nut into the clutch control, at the bottom at the 13mm nut assembly farthest away from the cable end, to the left, my clutch moves about an inch and is very floppy, tightening it to the right removes the play in the clutch lever, it has nothing to do with the cable tension going to the clutch itself, again that is at the handlebar.
35k miles, mine snapped in two near the bottom, looked completely clean no burning, nothing, it did go beyond the recommended wear distance at the clutch tension adjustment on the handlebars. i think its 8mm they say, but i dont remember exactly. cable just stretched too far.
great video glad it wasn't a big costly fix

Still having the clutch cable issue? I have a 2022 F850GSA with 3500 miles and all is good with the clutch cable.
So far so good.
So ... how did this turn out? Did the problem go away or did you have to replace the clutch? BMW pay or you?
When it's exposed to extreme temps it moves around a little. So it still happens occasionally.

Any idea what's the Life on the clutch cable?
Some people change them annually, but if it looks good, no fraying, or kinks or whatnot then I don't change it.

Mine had a new clutch under warranty its was sticking on the lever then a crack and would release
that's great you got it replaced while still under warranty.
