I think the BUT is, the depth of the team . As long as Stewart, Cameron, Hawkins and Dangerfield stay on the park they will go ok , Can win they last day of the season ? who knows I think it will be like years gone by where they get close as they can bank enough wins from home games , BUT I think their midfield depth against a true contender on the MCG is not there this year. BUT they have a great coach so lets see.

@@chinathesideyoudontsee8157 That's a fair analysis. I think Cam Guthrie is a significant in that will offset the midfield depth issue. That and the use of players like Jez up the ground to support midfielders. Saw it with bulldogs; their 3 stars dominated possession in round 4, but cats had so much depth with players like Miers and Jez getting mid-20 effective disposals.

The most damning piece of play for Power was 20+ minutes into last quarter. Port had kicked a couple of goals and had a bit of momentum they won the centre bounce, Horne-Francis handballed to Rozee, ran beside him instead of shepherding for him and got run down! No defensive thoughts at all!

Harley Reid puts bums on seats, viewers in front of the screen, he has star power already. Watched all WCE matches this year because of Reid, well worth it. You can see the way Yeo (a star) has lifted, Kelly (has lifted to his Geelong heights), Petro, Wakeman, Darling (not a great lol), Ginbey, Maric, Long, Brockman and Cripps are all bursting at the seams to play well because Harley just busts the game open, and they all jump in to help. There is a load of talent in the WCE team and Harley was the missing ingredient. Wakeman is coming back from his illness (alcoholism?) and is playing out of his skin, plus Barrass and McGovern are as solid as ever. I have probably left a few out who are doing well too, but boy the WCE are a must watch with Reid, Harley and Kelly, they are going to thrash some teams this year. Play WCE soft, and you will get what you deserve, a thrashing.
I like Bucks more as a media personality than as a coach of Collingwood, yet his time as coach certainly improved him as a media personality. Though, he was a natural media personality years ago, just like he was a natural footballer. Go Bucks! Go Pies!

Everyone’s giving Rachele crap about the dropped marks, understandably, but he already “fixed” his mistakes when he took that strong contested mark at half forward with about a minute left. Then he burst through the stoppage and almost kicked the winner thirty seconds later. That’s a young player course-correcting within game, without even needing to have a conversation with the coach. He’ll be fine.

What is Geelong's %? 141.. the best in the comp. Yes they have played more weaker sides but does the fact their % is best in the comp vs only around the 110-115 mark not generate them some respect? Im looking more at the way they have gone about winning more than just the win loss. Next month will tell them a lot about us but theyre right back in contention IMO.

Port stopped at the 6 minute mark of the second quarter after looking in control of the game - almost 5 goals up at that stage.
A pathetic display by Hinkley in the box and the Port leaders on the ground to stop the slow bleeding.
Basically Port then conceded 8 unanswered goals by the Pies, and 10 of the next 11 goals.

Fig Jam is correct about Cats&Bombers I personally think Cats are the yard stick they are such a well oiled machine extremly hard to beat they take on the opposition differently to each team they play but there is always the uncertainty of each game and with the Don's all they need to keep doing is keep applying there tackling pressure pressure that counts will take them to more wins than losses but there pressure is imperative 2sucess

That's a rule, just because you don't know it doesn't mean it was a charity. 10m makes more sense, it's the length of the goal square and makes it CLEAR to umpires and players and easier for both.

Nobody is already a start without doing anything in the big league.
Lots of first round picks have come through the system and then faded away.
Others picked in later rounds have become some of the greats for numerous clubs.
Reid does look like he belongs at the highest level. Sam Walsh at the Blues also started like that, and shined in what was a poor team that hardly won a game.

How many of these experts have forecast the fall of Geelong for the last 17 years? Geelong has an easy draw at the start and one of the hardest at the end of the season. Geelong gets written off whether they lose games, win games, advantage at home, and whine when we want a home final like everyone else does when at the top end of the ladder, now an easy draw lol. It is so early in the season, and every team has a butt. However, give Geelong some credit for how they have started the season.
It is comical and tedious. Let's see how Gold Coast go, who have the easiest draw of all the clubs to get them in finals.
