I agree with you about Raoul, not a big fan, never will be more likely. I guess people don't want to do the french for maybe 2 reasons: 1: People might not understand what they are singing. 2: it's kinda hard to find. But, I'm thinking about on doing a vid with french cast, not with Phantom I don't have enough clips, but from a tv show i like. Have a good day!

THis song is originally french, sound sway better in french. Still a classic in english, but if you understand french, its amazing.

I disagree that Christine was dumb in the Leroux version. She was simplified in the ALW/Kay versions, but written smartly in Leroux's. I also think most people are E/C shippers, based on their desire for Erik to be happy alone.
Patrick Wilson stood out from the movie because he was the only one with true threatre experience, but compared to other Raouls that have performed on stage, he is average at best.
In this version of Belle, Steve Balsamo (Phoebus)'s voice clearly stands out.
I love Frollo, especially Russian! In our country, its all love))) (How could you not love such Frollo as Marakulin?), But, honestly, whether in musicals such Frollo, as in this video, I would be sick!

That bit is from Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera. Which I DO NOT recommend. It's just ugh. The only thing which was good was shots like that.

Alarda85 it's from a play called "notre dame de Paris" (based off the book, the Disney movie was also based off the book) the play is originally in French, but there is an English version.

I think Erik is truley a mix of Frollo and Quasimodo, but i can see why you would put him as Bouquet, hate pheobus, hate raoul....both douchebags...:)
It depends on which Raoul you're talking about...Leroux!Raoul is just dumb, and he and Leroux!Christine really deserve each other, much as I love Erik--he's way too good for her. Musical!Raoul is meh. I'm an E/C shipper but not a Raoul-basher. Movie!Raoul gets a lot of help from Patrick Wilson and his voice.
But yeah, Phoebus is just an idiot. And they are pretty similar, whichever Raoul you look at. :)
