    I’ve also never had a green water bloom. If I ever did I think I’d love to try adding a lot of daphnia eggs. They will hatch within 12 hours sometimes and will eat the algae and be natural food.

    This is definitely an over reaction. Algea happens. Time minimal light. And plants. The betta is stressed. Stop stressing him and let things be. Dude all those water changes are terrible for your fish overall stress and bacteria levels. Not good.

    Please just buy an AquaClear 30 or Seachem Tidal 35 hang on the back filter, the 1 sponge filter looks so under-powered for that tank. Also; get an AC timer for your light if it does not have a timer built in, and reduce your lighting run-time to 6 hours a day with the timer. Lastly; get 3 Amano shrimp and 1 Nerite snail to help clean the algae in your tank, you may need to lookup smaller local fish stores for the shrimps and snail.

      I know all that
      And actually I’m only running 2 hours of light a day to try to combat the algae. My sponge filter is actually over powered , it collects a lot of dirt every month. And I have a timer I’m not dumb.
      Stay tuned cuz I’m getting a UV that hopefully will work. Just sucks cuz I’m trying to grow floating plants which means I can’t have much flow

    Green water good for your fish so not the problem. Get yourself a clarifier and/or Purigen if you want to get rid of it.

    It’s a bacterial bloom and an algae bloom. Time is the best help. Your tank needs to season. All the water changes are causing the problem. You can limit the light to 7-😊8 hrs a day

    • @Fish_tank_king
      @Fish_tank_king  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My lights are on for only 7-8 hours , after the blackout the green water is coming back so I’m leaving the tank alone with no water changes and only turning on the lights for 2 hours a day. Need to make an update video on this.

    I’d also reccomend a uv sterilizer
    More filtration as well tank is severely underfiltered throw an fx4 or fx6 on there
    Also your light is way to close to your aquarium it’s gonna inherently cause algae blooms lift it like 4-6 inches off the top

    • @Fish_tank_king
      @Fish_tank_king  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Can’t lift the light on a rimless tank safely , and I’m not home all the time so when my wife feed the fish she will just mess everything up when she has to take off the lights and lids just to feed them.
      Can’t add another filter or UV , tank it too small for a UV in my opinion and my tank is supposed to be a still water tank with floating plants that I’m trying to grow. A filter will just be too much floe

    nothing to be worried about... if the tank was set up just recently it had not reached equilibrium before you went on holiday ( somebody might have also overfed a little ) that is just normal... but overall too many nutrients... just add some fast-growing plants and it will sort itself out without any interference. Just check the ammonia level immediately and only if that is elevated change the water.

      I agree water changes are not the way to go.

      I was thinking something similar, maybe not enough water changes the first week or two especially if he used fertilizer or dirt without enough changes. Could also make the fish sick.

    It’s just an algae bloom, UV filter will clear it up & it doesn’t hurt the fish 🤷‍♀️

    • @Fish_tank_king
      @Fish_tank_king  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ya but I have small tank , water flow will be too high with UV , I’m trying to make a still water tank with floating plants . Which means I can only use sponge filter.

    Was this satire? Other then it being visually not as appealing green water has many benefits for fish. Breeders also feed fry green water🤷🏽

    • @Fish_tank_king
      @Fish_tank_king  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well in a tropical fish tank you do not want green water . Now what’s interesting is that my Betta didn’t fare well when the water turned green which is surprising because in the wild they come from pretty dirty water.

    • @mfstarboy8690
      @mfstarboy8690 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agree this is not a aquascape tank, right?
      Top off the soil in the bottom with 2 inches of (sand) and watch your tank come alive and stop doing stupid water test. Do a 10% topp off monthly max. Add some Ro once in a while

    Your betta has heavy fins he needs something near the top to rest on. On top away from filter flow.
