Hey there! I’m one the folks on Dash Team that worked on this mod. I did the sound design and mixing, SET edits and testing. I am NOT the lead/main developer. AeroIncarnated (Twitter: @AeroIncarne) is the genius behind the Dash Universe. Here’s a quick FAQ so y’all don’t need keep asking the same questions. What is this about? - Dash Adventure 2 is a take on an alternate dimension, where Sonic Team decided to stick with the “FeElS tHe rAbBit” prototype design before they settled on a hedgehog. (No, Feels is not the official name of the prototype design. The community gave the design this name for unknown reasons) Who are the characters? - Dash the Rabbit (Sonic) - Dusk the Rabbit (Shadow) - Alice the Rabbit (Amy) - Metal Dash (Metal Sonic) - Ampere “Bolt” the Wolf (Tails) - Professor Eggman (Eggboi) - Jabs the Kangaroo (Knuckles) - Picara the Owl (Rouge) Is this mod compatible with Character Select Plus, and are there any alternate outfits for the characters? - Yes. Every character has their own unique alternate outfit. You can play this with Character Select Plus too! Just place CSP one space above Dash Adventure 2 and you’ll be good to go. Are all the remixes taken from TH-cam or somewhere else? - AeroIncarnated (lead developer) commissioned a bunch of people to remix a lot of songs for this mod. You won’t find these anywhere else; only in this mod. Every single song you hear in DA2 are original remixes made by talented musicians within the community, and directed by Aero. Is this mod complete or is it just a demo? - As of now, the SHC build is a demo. I only want specific parts of this mod with SA2. Can I please do that? - Absolutely not. DA2 is an entirely new experience for SA2. Using any asset without this mod wouldn’t fit the game and make sense at all. DA2 is only going to be one whole mod and that’s it. This isn’t Modern SA2, which I split into parts so you can download whatever you want. It’s either you take it as it is or leave it. Do you have a server for this? - Yes we do! Me and Aero run “SA2 Realm”. This is a server that helps people get started on modding SA2 and is a nice, comfortable place to be in. @@sonicovertime I thought so. I know some parts of Sega and Sonic’s history and I know that Sonic was going to be a Hare, how he was going to be calling Mr NeedleMouse and he was going to have a human girlfriend like. That kind of reminds me of Jump Man aka Mario and Pauline aka now Mayor Pauline.
It's actually insane to see this in action; I was commissioned to do the victory theme for this mod, and considering all the time I spent confused as to how to approach it, it's crazy to see it fit with the rest of the mod. Thank you for posting!
I usually just watch clips and segments but this time I watched the whole thing because I was so impressed by it. Was also cool seeing a few alternate routes and tricks on some of the stages I never knew existed despite playing this game hundreds of times. Great upload. You're doing God's work. Keep that Adventure legacy alive.
I like how if things wouldn't have been different, played characters would have been rabbits. I wonder what made Sega changing their choice. Nice game addition. Could have been a sort of SA2 DLC. You're clearly used to play Sonic games, So fast ! :o
The main gimmick for the rabbit character was that he could pick up things with his ears and throw them into enemies. Yuji Naka though wanted to make a fast-paced momentum-based platformer and this concept didn't stick very well with the idea, so eventually they chose a hedgehog as a main character
in an alternate universe "Dash Overtime" just uploaded a mod showcase video for "Dash adventure 2" which replaces all the original characters with some old unused concept versions of themselves ,the mod features Sonic the hedgehog instead of Dash the rabbit , and goes by the name : Sonic adventure 2
honestly it's pretty bizarre knowing that if they went with the rabbit design for sonic then there would be a possibility of amy and metal sonic being rabbits and etc...
Wow, This is some neat modding. I really like the sky change for Radical Highway. I'm guessing for the animals; We have Rabbits, a Raccoon, a new echidna character and a pigeon.
I don't mind the Hare, but thank goodness we got the Hedgehog. 😅 Think about it, things would had went in a different direction, if Sega would had kept this concept, to be honest in my opinion, I don't think it would had sold any good. In fact, this would had buried Sega in the ground, and gave Mario zero competition in the mascot wars, but that's just my own opinion, I can't speak for the people back in the 90's, on how they would react to this character, had Sega chosen this over Sonic. But, at least we have the characters, we grew up with along the way.
same It shouldn't be to hard to remove the characters from the pack if you know what files to look for. idk about physics though. hope they release a just texture pack. The chao garden is seperated already actually.
Ah man, I remember Dash Adventure 2. I replayed that game endlessly to get all of the emblems! An eternal classic, though I have always wished Bolt could be played mechless on anything but the Chao garden. But eh, Dash Adventure 1 is enough for that fix. What's truly a shame is the omission of Gordo the Bear's gameplay in some form; the most in-depth and well-designed arcade fishing of its time, even better than Sega Salmon Fishing! But at least he pops up to help Jabs with the Admin Ruby shards by giving him hints in this game. Not as good as Dash 08, though. A bit of a goofy story, but Rush never controlled better, Dusk really came into his own with the open-ended level design and more explorative gameplay style, and Gleam's gravity-control mechanic was so fresh! In fact, a bit of a hot take; I enjoyed his gameplay better than Dash's himself. So glad Sega decided to delay it a year-and-a-bit to polish and rework some parts after the backlash from that godawful gameplay demo back in 2006. But that's just classic Sega; never rushes out a broken product, even when an anniversary is on the line!
This feels like an alternate reality sonic game since SEGA originally had the concept of sonic being a rabbit at the beginning of making the very first game. Wild to think about what sonic could have been today if they didn’t change him to be a hedgehog.

Feels/Dash is obviously based off of the original design for sonic when sonic 1991 was in development. Dusk is based off of Terios the prototype. Bolt is just a character. Well tails was originally a turtle named Boomer

So AWESOME as H🍯NEY is like, my most favorite obscure S🌀NIC character EVER! Even rabbit Amy's new outfit resembles Honey's outfit more than before... I wonder if it just worked out that way or if this was intentional. Also... Metal Sonic is now literally Bonnie from "FNAF" 🤣 Also, Also... Looks like Mac from "Cars" got tired of people comparing Lightning to Sonic (speed, attitude, girlfriend named Sally) and decided to hunt down Sonic in a rage!! 😱 Just W🌀W! I'm IN L♥️VE with this combination of amazing nostalgia being resurrected as something new!! P.S. Turning "Metal Harbor" into "Chemical Plant Zone" was GENIUS.
This mod is worth it just for the amazing Chao Garden!! Lovely mod. I really like the skybox choices. The nod to Chemical Plant zone for Metal Harbour was awesome too.
What a unique character mod! I love the new Eggman mech lol XD Raccoon Tails and Owl Rouge are very cute too! Not sure what Knuckles is supposed to be but I love his bright green tie XD The ARK Chao Garden is beautiful though. Hope they'll make a Sonic version of it soon!
I was kinda expecting the classic city escape theme from generations And also the ark garden should Have been unlocked in the main game when beating it and collecting 99 emblems (99 because that's when the dreamcast came out)

Tbh I'm so glad they made them hedgehogs the sharp design is so much better than the soft rabbit design sonic wouldn't be what he is today if he wasn't a hedgehog

This feels like an brand new game but i love it my favorite texture would be is chemical plant for metal harbor and the black and red themed for final chase
@@sonicovertime I didn't. None of the main characters models are made by me. I helped with some character designs like Professor Eggman and Maria. Also made the desk and portrait on the ark chao garden and the alt outfits for the characters.

The main purple rabbit is suppose to be Feels (Sonic's prototype) in a SA2 style. The rest is if the cast went along with this.

But why keep the rolling mechanic here? The only reason rolling exists as an attack in Sonic is because Sonic is a hedgehog.
