at 5:25 there is a small cave under your feet, as a teen in the 70s we would hike, camp, party all over this park. there re remnants of an ice shed, a dam, and some other structures , miss this place...thanks for the memories

Is there a way to get down safely from that cave? Or do you have to climb upwards?

@@penndixieboys if your facing the fence you would go down the right side, it's not too unsafe but just be careful. Also it's a small cave

I just discovered your channel a couple of months ago and glad to see you were at Jacobsburg. I grew up right across the street on Jacobsburg Road. Not sure if you've ever been back, but there's (in my opinion) better trails to walk here. Sober's Run trail has less people. Homestead Trail has a massive wildflower area. And there's an old slate quarry which dates back to the mid 1800's. The quarry trail is officially "closed" due to someone falling in and needing to be rescued, but the trail is still maintained.

I used to love hiking in Jacobsburg State Park with my family when I was a kid. I particularly liked the trail that took us through the "farmer's backyard" (although I am not certain as to whether that is what it was really called). As a kid. I was fascinated by the ruins. 😊
